וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ and went way·yê·lə·ḵū לִפְנֵ֥י ahead lip̄·nê הָעָֽם׃ס of them . hā·‘ām Joshua 3:7 יְהוָה֙ Now YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ Joshua , yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ הַיּ֣וֹם “ Today hay·yō·wm הַזֶּ֗ה . . . haz·zeh אָחֵל֙ I will begin ’ā·ḥêl גַּדֶּלְךָ֔ to exalt you gad·del·ḵā בְּעֵינֵ֖י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê כָּל־ of all kāl- יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אֲשֶׁר֙ so ’ă·šer יֵֽדְע֔וּן they may know yê·ḏə·‘ūn כִּ֗י that kî הָיִ֛יתִי I am hā·yî·ṯî עִם־ with you ‘im- כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר just as ka·’ă·šer אֶהְיֶ֥ה I was ’eh·yeh עִמָּֽךְ׃ with ‘im·māḵ מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses . mō·šeh Joshua 3:8 וְאַתָּ֗ה - wə·’at·tāh תְּצַוֶּה֙ Command tə·ṣaw·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm נֹשְׂאֵ֥י carrying nō·śə·’ê אֲרֽוֹן־ the ark ’ă·rō·wn- הַבְּרִ֖ית of the covenant : hab·bə·rîṯ לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . lê·mōr כְּבֹאֲכֶ֗ם ‘ When you reach kə·ḇō·’ă·ḵem עַד־ . . . ‘aḏ- קְצֵה֙ the edge qə·ṣêh מֵ֣י of the waters , mê הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן - hay·yar·dên תַּעֲמֹֽדוּ׃פ stand ta·‘ă·mō·ḏū בַּיַּרְדֵּ֖ן in the Jordan . ’” bay·yar·dên Joshua 3:9 יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ So Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיֹּ֥אמֶר told way·yō·mer בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl גֹּ֣שׁוּ “ Come gō·šū הֵ֔נָּה here hên·nāh וְשִׁמְע֕וּ and listen wə·šim·‘ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דִּבְרֵ֖י to the words diḇ·rê יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶֽם׃ your God . ” ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem Joshua 3:10 יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ He yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר continued , way·yō·mer בְּזֹאת֙ “ This is how bə·zōṯ תֵּֽדְע֔וּן you will know tê·ḏə·‘ūn כִּ֛י that kî חַ֖י the living ḥay אֵ֥ל God [is] ’êl בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑ם among you bə·qir·bə·ḵem וְהוֹרֵ֣שׁ and that He will surely drive out wə·hō·w·rêš יוֹרִ֣ישׁ . . . yō·w·rîš מִ֠פְּנֵיכֶם before you mip·pə·nê·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַכְּנַעֲנִ֨י the Canaanites , hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַחִתִּ֜י Hittites , ha·ḥit·tî וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַחִוִּ֗י Hivites , ha·ḥiw·wî וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַפְּרִזִּי֙ Perizzites , hap·pə·riz·zî וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַגִּרְגָּשִׁ֔י Girgashites , hag·gir·gā·šî וְהָאֱמֹרִ֖י Amorites , wə·hā·’ĕ·mō·rî וְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃ and Jebusites . wə·hay·ḇū·sî Joshua 3:11 הִנֵּה֙ Behold , hin·nêh אֲר֣וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn הַבְּרִ֔ית of the covenant hab·bə·rîṯ אֲד֖וֹן of the Lord ’ă·ḏō·wn כָּל־ of all kāl- הָאָ֑רֶץ the earth hā·’ā·reṣ עֹבֵ֥ר will go ‘ō·ḇêr לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם ahead of you lip̄·nê·ḵem בַּיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ into the Jordan . bay·yar·dên
