בְּהַ֣ר Mount bə·har צִיּ֔וֹן Zion ṣî·yō·wn לִשְׁפֹּ֖ט to rule over liš·pōṭ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַ֣ר the mountains har עֵשָׂ֑ו of Esau . ‘ê·śāw הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃ And the kingdom ham·mə·lū·ḵāh וְהָיְתָ֥ה will belong to wə·hā·yə·ṯāh לַֽיהוָ֖ה YHWH . Yah·weh Jonah 1:1 דְּבַר־ Now the word də·ḇar- יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַֽיְהִי֙ came way·hî אֶל־ to ’el- יוֹנָ֥ה Jonah yō·w·nāh בֶן־ son ḇen- אֲמִתַּ֖י of Amittai , ’ă·mit·tay לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying , lê·mōr Jonah 1:2 ק֠וּם “ Get up ! qūm לֵ֧ךְ Go lêḵ אֶל־ to ’el- הַגְּדוֹלָ֖ה the great hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh הָעִ֥יר city hā·‘îr נִֽינְוֵ֛ה of Nineveh nî·nə·wêh וּקְרָ֣א and preach ū·qə·rā עָלֶ֑יהָ against it , ‘ā·le·hā כִּֽי־ because kî- רָעָתָ֖ם its wickedness rā·‘ā·ṯām עָלְתָ֥ה has come up ‘ā·lə·ṯāh לְפָנָֽי׃ before Me . ” lə·p̄ā·nāy Jonah 1:3 יוֹנָה֙ Jonah, however , yō·w·nāh וַיָּ֤קָם got up way·yā·qām לִבְרֹ֣חַ to flee liḇ·rō·aḥ תַּרְשִׁ֔ישָׁה to Tarshish , tar·šî·šāh מִלִּפְנֵ֖י away from the presence mil·lip̄·nê יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH . Yah·weh וַיֵּ֨רֶד He went down way·yê·reḏ יָפ֜וֹ to Joppa yā·p̄ōw וַיִּמְצָ֥א and found way·yim·ṣā אָנִיָּ֣ה׀ a ship ʾå̄·nī·yå̄h בָּאָ֣ה bound bā·’āh תַרְשִׁ֗ישׁ for Tarshish . ṯar·šîš וַיִּתֵּ֨ן So he paid way·yit·tên שְׂכָרָ֜הּ the fare śə·ḵā·rāh וַיֵּ֤רֶד and went aboard way·yê·reḏ בָּהּ֙ . . . bāh לָב֤וֹא to sail lā·ḇō·w עִמָּהֶם֙ . . . ‘im·mā·hem תַּרְשִׁ֔ישָׁה for Tarshish , tar·šî·šāh מִלִּפְנֵ֖י away from the presence mil·lip̄·nê יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh Jonah 1:4 וַֽיהוָ֗ה Then YHWH Yah·weh הֵטִ֤יל hurled hê·ṭîl גְּדוֹלָה֙ a great gə·ḏō·w·lāh רֽוּחַ־ wind rū·aḥ- אֶל־ upon ’el- הַיָּ֔ם the sea , hay·yām גָּד֖וֹל and such a violent gā·ḏō·wl סַֽעַר־ storm sa·‘ar- וַיְהִ֥י arose way·hî בַּיָּ֑ם - bay·yām וְהָ֣אֳנִיָּ֔ה that the ship wə·hā·’o·nî·yāh חִשְּׁבָ֖ה was in danger ḥiš·šə·ḇāh לְהִשָּׁבֵֽר׃ of breaking apart . lə·hiš·šā·ḇêr Jonah 1:5 הַמַּלָּחִ֗ים The sailors ham·mal·lā·ḥîm וַיִּֽירְא֣וּ were afraid , way·yî·rə·’ū אִ֣ישׁ and each ’îš וַֽיִּזְעֲקוּ֮ cried out way·yiz·‘ă·qū אֶל־ to ’el- אֱלֹהָיו֒ his own god . ’ĕ·lō·hāw וַיָּטִ֨לוּ And they threw way·yā·ṭi·lū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בָּֽאֳנִיָּה֙ the ship’s bā·’o·nî·yāh הַכֵּלִ֜ים cargo hak·kê·lîm אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer אֶל־ into ’el- הַיָּ֔ם the sea hay·yām לְהָקֵ֖ל to lighten lə·hā·qêl מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶ֑ם the load . mê·‘ă·lê·hem וְיוֹנָ֗ה But Jonah wə·yō·w·nāh יָרַד֙ had gone down yā·raḏ אֶל־ to ’el- יַרְכְּתֵ֣י the lowest part yar·kə·ṯê הַסְּפִינָ֔ה of the vessel , has·sə·p̄î·nāh וַיִּשְׁכַּ֖ב where he lay down way·yiš·kaḇ וַיֵּרָדַֽם׃ and fell into a deep sleep . way·yê·rā·ḏam
