יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Amos 1:2 וַיֹּאמַ֓ר׀ He said : way·yō·mar יְהוָה֙ “ YHWH Yah·weh יִשְׁאָ֔ג roars yiš·’āḡ מִצִיּ֣וֹן from Zion mi·ṣī·yōn יִתֵּ֣ן and raises yit·tên קוֹל֑וֹ His voice qō·w·lōw וּמִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם from Jerusalem ; ū·mî·rū·šā·lim נְא֣וֹת the pastures nə·’ō·wṯ הָרֹעִ֔ים of the shepherds hā·rō·‘îm וְאָֽבְלוּ֙ mourn , wə·’ā·ḇə·lū רֹ֥אשׁ and the summit rōš הַכַּרְמֶֽל׃פ of Carmel hak·kar·mel וְיָבֵ֖שׁ withers . ” wə·yā·ḇêš Amos 1:3 כֹּ֚ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar עַל־ “ For ‘al- שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ three šə·lō·šāh פִּשְׁעֵ֣י transgressions piš·‘ê דַמֶּ֔שֶׂק of Damascus , ḏam·me·śeq וְעַל־ even wə·‘al- אַרְבָּעָ֖ה four , ’ar·bā·‘āh לֹ֣א I will not lō אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ revoke [My judgment] , ’ă·šî·ḇen·nū עַל־ because ‘al- דּוּשָׁ֛ם they threshed dū·šām הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ Gilead hag·gil·‘āḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בַּחֲרֻצ֥וֹת with sledges ba·ḥă·ru·ṣō·wṯ הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל of iron . hab·bar·zel Amos 1:4 וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי So I will send wə·šil·laḥ·tî אֵ֖שׁ fire ’êš בְּבֵ֣ית upon the house bə·ḇêṯ חֲזָאֵ֑ל of Hazael ḥă·zā·’êl וְאָכְלָ֖ה to consume wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh אַרְמְנ֥וֹת the citadels ’ar·mə·nō·wṯ בֶּן־ of ben- הֲדָֽד׃ Ben-hadad . hă·ḏāḏ Amos 1:5 וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי֙ I will break down wə·šā·ḇar·tî בְּרִ֣יחַ the gates bə·rî·aḥ דַּמֶּ֔שֶׂק of Damascus ; dam·me·śeq וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י I will cut off wə·hiḵ·rat·tî יוֹשֵׁב֙ the ruler yō·wō·šêḇ מִבִּקְעַת־ of the Valley of Aven mib·biq·‘aṯ- אָ֔וֶן . . . ’ā·wen וְתוֹמֵ֥ךְ and the one who wields wə·ṯō·w·mêḵ שֵׁ֖בֶט the scepter šê·ḇeṭ מִבֵּ֣ית in Beth-eden mib·bêṯ עֶ֑דֶן . . . . ‘e·ḏen עַם־ The people ‘am- אֲרָ֛ם of Aram ’ă·rām וְגָל֧וּ will be exiled wə·ḡā·lū קִ֖ירָה to Kir , ” qî·rāh אָמַ֥ר says ’ā·mar יְהוָֽה׃פ YHWH . Yah·weh Amos 1:6 כֹּ֚ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar עַל־ “ For ‘al- שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ three šə·lō·šāh פִּשְׁעֵ֣י transgressions piš·‘ê עַזָּ֔ה of Gaza , ‘az·zāh וְעַל־ even wə·‘al- אַרְבָּעָ֖ה four , ’ar·bā·‘āh לֹ֣א I will not lō אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ revoke [My judgment] , ’ă·šî·ḇen·nū עַל־ because ‘al- הַגְלוֹתָ֛ם they exiled haḡ·lō·w·ṯām שְׁלֵמָ֖ה a whole šə·lê·māh גָּל֥וּת population , gā·lūṯ לְהַסְגִּ֥יר delivering [them] up lə·has·gîr לֶאֱדֽוֹם׃ to Edom . le·’ĕ·ḏō·wm Amos 1:7 וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי So I will send wə·šil·laḥ·tî אֵ֖שׁ fire ’êš בְּחוֹמַ֣ת upon the walls bə·ḥō·w·maṯ עַזָּ֑ה of Gaza , ‘az·zāh וְאָכְלָ֖ה to consume wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh אַרְמְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ its citadels . ’ar·mə·nō·ṯe·hā
