מִצְרַ֖יִם of Egypt , miṣ·ra·yim יְהוָ֧ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר spoke way·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֛ה Moses mō·šeh בְּאֹ֣הֶל in the Tent bə·’ō·hel מוֹעֵ֑ד of Meeting mō·w·‘êḏ בְּמִדְבַּ֥ר in the Wilderness bə·miḏ·bar סִינַ֖י of Sinai . sî·nay לֵאמֹֽר׃ He said : lê·mōr Numbers 1:2 שְׂא֗וּ “ Take a census śə·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רֹאשׁ֙ - rōš כָּל־ of the whole kāl- עֲדַ֣ת congregation ‘ă·ḏaṯ בְּנֵֽי־ . . . bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם by their clans lə·miš·pə·ḥō·ṯām אֲבֹתָ֑ם and families ’ă·ḇō·ṯām לְבֵ֣ית . . . , lə·ḇêṯ בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר listing bə·mis·par כָּל־ every kāl- זָכָ֖ר man zā·ḵār שֵׁמ֔וֹת by name , šê·mō·wṯ לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָֽם׃ one by one . lə·ḡul·gə·lō·ṯām Numbers 1:3 אַתָּ֥ה You ’at·tāh וְאַהֲרֹֽן׃ and Aaron wə·’a·hă·rōn תִּפְקְד֥וּ are to number tip̄·qə·ḏū אֹתָ֛ם those ’ō·ṯām עֶשְׂרִ֤ים who are twenty ‘eś·rîm מִבֶּ֨ן years of age mib·ben שָׁנָה֙ . . . šā·nāh וָמַ֔עְלָה or older wā·ma‘·lāh צָבָ֖א by their divisions — ṣā·ḇā כָּל־ everyone kāl- יֹצֵ֥א who can serve yō·ṣê בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל in Israel’s bə·yiś·rā·’êl לְצִבְאֹתָ֖ם army . lə·ṣiḇ·’ō·ṯām Numbers 1:4 אִ֥ישׁ And one man ’îš אִ֖ישׁ . . . ’îš לַמַּטֶּ֑ה from each tribe , lam·maṭ·ṭeh אִ֛ישׁ - ’îš רֹ֥אשׁ the head rōš אֲבֹתָ֖יו of each family ’ă·ḇō·ṯāw הֽוּא׃ . . . hū לְבֵית־ . . . , lə·ḇêṯ- יִהְי֔וּ must be there yih·yū וְאִתְּכֶ֣ם with you . wə·’it·tə·ḵem Numbers 1:5 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ These wə·’êl·leh שְׁמ֣וֹת are the names šə·mō·wṯ הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים of the men hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer יַֽעַמְד֖וּ are to assist ya·‘am·ḏū אִתְּכֶ֑ם you : ’it·tə·ḵem לִרְאוּבֵ֕ן From [the tribe of] Reuben , lir·’ū·ḇên אֱלִיצ֖וּר Elizur ’ĕ·lî·ṣūr בֶּן־ son ben- שְׁדֵיאֽוּר׃ of Shedeur ; šə·ḏê·’ūr Numbers 1:6 לְשִׁמְע֕וֹן from Simeon , lə·šim·‘ō·wn שְׁלֻמִיאֵ֖ל Shelumiel šə·lu·mî·’êl בֶּן־ son ben- צוּרִֽישַׁדָּֽי׃ of Zurishaddai ; ṣū·rî·šad·dāy Numbers 1:7 לִֽיהוּדָ֕ה from Judah , lî·hū·ḏāh נַחְשׁ֖וֹן Nahshon naḥ·šō·wn בֶּן־ son ben- עַמִּינָדָֽב׃ of Amminadab ; ‘am·mî·nā·ḏāḇ Numbers 1:8 לְיִ֨שָּׂשכָ֔ר from Issachar , lə·yiś·śā·š·ḵār נְתַנְאֵ֖ל Nethanel nə·ṯan·’êl בֶּן־ son ben- צוּעָֽר׃ of Zuar ; ṣū·‘ār Numbers 1:9 לִזְבוּלֻ֕ן from Zebulun , liz·ḇū·lun אֱלִיאָ֖ב Eliab ’ĕ·lî·’āḇ בֶּן־ son ben- חֵלֹֽן׃ of Helon ; ḥê·lōn
