וּלְע֔וֹג and Og , ū·lə·‘ō·wḡ אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer לִשְׁנֵי֩ the two liš·nê מַלְכֵ֨י kings mal·ḵê הָאֱמֹרִ֜י of the Amorites hā·’ĕ·mō·rî בְּעֵ֤בֶר across bə·‘ê·ḇer הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ the Jordan , hay·yar·dên אֲשֶׁ֨ר whom ’ă·šer הֶחֱרַמְתֶּ֖ם you devoted to destruction he·ḥĕ·ram·tem אוֹתָֽם׃ - . ’ō·w·ṯām Joshua 2:11 וַנִּשְׁמַע֙ When we heard this , wan·niš·ma‘ לְבָבֵ֔נוּ our hearts lə·ḇā·ḇê·nū וַיִּמַּ֣ס melted way·yim·mas בְּאִ֖ישׁ and everyone’s bə·’îš ר֛וּחַ courage rū·aḥ וְלֹא־ failed wə·lō- קָ֨מָה . . . qā·māh ע֥וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם because of you , mip·pə·nê·ḵem כִּ֚י for kî יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם your God ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem ה֤וּא . . . hū אֱלֹהִים֙ is God ’ĕ·lō·hîm בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם in the heavens baš·šā·ma·yim מִמַּ֔עַל above mim·ma·‘al וְעַל־ and on wə·‘al- הָאָ֖רֶץ the earth hā·’ā·reṣ מִתָּֽחַת׃ below . mit·tā·ḥaṯ Joshua 2:12 וְעַתָּ֗ה Now therefore , wə·‘at·tāh נָ֥א please nā הִשָּֽׁבְעוּ־ swear hiš·šā·ḇə·‘ū- לִי֙ to me lî בַּֽיהוָ֔ה by YHWH Yah·weh אַתֶּ֜ם that you ’at·tem גַּם־ will indeed gam- וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֨ם show wa·‘ă·śî·ṯem חֶ֔סֶד kindness ḥe·seḏ עִם־ to ‘im- בֵּ֤ית my family bêṯ אָבִי֙ . . . , ’ā·ḇî כִּי־ because kî- עָשִׂ֥יתִי I showed ‘ā·śî·ṯî חָ֑סֶד kindness ḥā·seḏ עִמָּכֶ֖ם to you . ‘im·mā·ḵem וּנְתַתֶּ֥ם Give ū·nə·ṯat·tem לִ֖י me lî אֱמֶֽת׃ a sure ’ĕ·meṯ א֥וֹת sign ’ō·wṯ Joshua 2:13 וְהַחֲיִתֶ֞ם that you will spare the lives wə·ha·ḥă·yi·ṯem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אָבִ֣י of my father ’ā·ḇî וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- אִמִּ֗י mother , ’im·mî וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- אַחַי֙ my brothers ’a·ḥay וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- אַחוֹתַי sisters , ʾa·ḥō·ṯay וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ כָּל־ and all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֣ר who belong ’ă·šer לָהֶ֑ם to them , lā·hem וְהִצַּלְתֶּ֥ם and that you will deliver wə·hiṣ·ṣal·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַפְשֹׁתֵ֖ינוּ us nap̄·šō·ṯê·nū מִמָּֽוֶת׃ from death . ” mim·mā·weṯ Joshua 2:14 נַפְשֵׁ֤נוּ “ Our lives nap̄·šê·nū תַחְתֵּיכֶם֙ for your ṯaḥ·tê·ḵem לָמ֔וּת lives ! ” lā·mūṯ הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים the men hā·’ă·nā·šîm וַיֹּ֧אמְרוּ agreed way·yō·mə·rū לָ֣הּ . lāh אִ֚ם “ If ’im לֹ֣א you do not lō תַגִּ֔ידוּ report ṯag·gî·ḏū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דְּבָרֵ֖נוּ our mission , də·ḇā·rê·nū זֶ֑ה . . . zeh וְהָיָ֗ה . . . wə·hā·yāh וְעָשִׂ֥ינוּ we will show wə·‘ā·śî·nū עִמָּ֖ךְ you ‘im·māḵ חֶ֥סֶד kindness ḥe·seḏ וֶאֱמֶֽת׃ and faithfulness we·’ĕ·meṯ יְהוָ֥ה when YHWH Yah·weh בְּתֵת־ gives bə·ṯêṯ- לָ֙נוּ֙ us lā·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֔רֶץ the land . ” hā·’ā·reṣ
