Joshua 1:14 נְשֵׁיכֶ֣ם Your wives , nə·šê·ḵem טַפְּכֶם֮ your young children , ṭap·pə·ḵem וּמִקְנֵיכֶם֒ and your livestock ū·miq·nê·ḵem יֵשְׁב֕וּ may remain yê·šə·ḇū בָּאָ֕רֶץ in the land bā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh נָתַ֥ן gave nā·ṯan לָכֶ֛ם you lā·ḵem בְּעֵ֣בֶר on this side bə·‘ê·ḇer הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן of the Jordan . hay·yar·dên וְאַתֶּם֩ . . . wə·’at·tem כֹּ֚ל But all kōl גִּבּוֹרֵ֣י your mighty men gib·bō·w·rê הַחַ֔יִל of valor ha·ḥa·yil חֲמֻשִׁ֜ים must be armed for battle ḥă·mu·šîm תַּעַבְר֨וּ to cross over ta·‘aḇ·rū לִפְנֵ֣י ahead of lip̄·nê אֲחֵיכֶ֗ם your brothers ’ă·ḥê·ḵem וַעֲזַרְתֶּ֖ם and help them wa·‘ă·zar·tem אוֹתָֽם׃ - , ’ō·w·ṯām Joshua 1:15 עַ֠ד until ‘aḏ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֥ה׀ YHWH Yah·weh יָנִ֨יחַ gives [them] rest yā·nî·aḥ לַֽאֲחֵיכֶם֮ . . . la·’ă·ḥê·ḵem כָּכֶם֒ as He has done for you , kā·ḵem הֵ֔מָּה and [your brothers] hêm·māh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- גַם־ also ḡam- וְיָרְשׁ֣וּ possess wə·yā·rə·šū הָאָ֕רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם your God ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem נֹתֵ֣ן is giving nō·ṯên לָהֶ֑ם them . lā·hem וְשַׁבְתֶּ֞ם Then you may return wə·šaḇ·tem לְאֶ֤רֶץ to the land lə·’e·reṣ יְרֻשַּׁתְכֶם֙ of your inheritance yə·ruš·šaṯ·ḵem וִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם and take possession of wî·riš·tem אוֹתָ֔הּ - ’ō·w·ṯāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ that which ’ă·šer מֹשֶׁה֙ Moses mō·šeh עֶ֣בֶד the servant ‘e·ḇeḏ יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh נָתַ֣ן gave nā·ṯan לָכֶ֗ם you lā·ḵem מִזְרַ֥ח on the east miz·raḥ הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ . . . haš·šā·meš בְּעֵ֥בֶר side bə·‘ê·ḇer הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן of the Jordan . ” hay·yar·dên Joshua 1:16 וַֽיַּעֲנ֔וּ So they answered way·ya·‘ă·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . , lê·mōr אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- כֹּ֤ל “ Everything kōl צִוִּיתָ֙נוּ֙ you have commanded us ṣiw·wî·ṯā·nū נַֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה we will do , na·‘ă·śeh וְאֶֽל־ and everywhere wə·’el- כָּל־ . . . kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer תִּשְׁלָחֵ֖נוּ you send us tiš·lā·ḥê·nū נֵלֵֽךְ׃ we will go . nê·lêḵ Joshua 1:17 אֲשֶׁר־ Just as ’ă·šer- נִשְׁמַ֣ע we obeyed niš·ma‘ אֵלֶ֑יךָ . . . ’ê·le·ḵā רַ֠ק . . . raq מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses mō·šeh כֵּ֖ן . . . kên כְּכֹ֤ל in all things , kə·ḵōl שָׁמַ֙עְנוּ֙ so we will obey you . šā·ma‘·nū אֶל־ . . . ’el- יְהוָ֤ה And may YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā יִֽהְיֶ֞ה be yih·yeh עִמָּ֔ךְ with you , ‘im·māḵ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר as ka·’ă·šer הָיָ֖ה He was hā·yāh עִם־ with ‘im- מֹשֶֽׁה׃ Moses . mō·šeh Joshua 1:18 כָּל־ Anyone kāl- אִ֞ישׁ . . . ’îš אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- יַמְרֶ֣ה rebels yam·reh אֶת־ - ’eṯ-
