אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses , mō·šeh הִנְּךָ֥ “ You will soon hin·nə·ḵā שֹׁכֵ֖ב rest šō·ḵêḇ עִם־ with ‘im- אֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ your fathers , ’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā הַזֶּ֜ה and these haz·zeh הָעָ֨ם people hā·‘ām וְקָם֩ will rise up wə·qām וְזָנָ֣ה׀ and prostitute themselves wə·zā·nāh אַחֲרֵ֣י׀ with ’a·ḥă·rê נֵֽכַר־ the foreign nê·ḵar- אֱלֹהֵ֣י gods ’ĕ·lō·hê הָאָ֗רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer ה֤וּא they hū בָא־ are entering . ḇā- שָׁ֙מָּה֙ . . . šām·māh בְּקִרְבּ֔וֹ . . . bə·qir·bōw וַעֲזָבַ֕נִי They will forsake Me wa·‘ă·zā·ḇa·nî וְהֵפֵר֙ and break wə·hê·p̄êr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּרִיתִ֔י the covenant bə·rî·ṯî אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer כָּרַ֖תִּי I have made kā·rat·tî אִתּֽוֹ׃ with them . ’it·tōw Deuteronomy 31:17 הַ֠הוּא On that ha·hū בַיּוֹם־ day ḇay·yō·wm- אַפִּ֣י My anger ’ap·pî וְחָרָ֣ה will burn wə·ḥā·rāh ב֣וֹ against them , ḇōw וַעֲזַבְתִּ֞ים and I will abandon them wa·‘ă·zaḇ·tîm וְהִסְתַּרְתִּ֨י and hide wə·his·tar·tî פָנַ֤י My face p̄ā·nay מֵהֶם֙ from them , mê·hem וְהָיָ֣ה so that they will be wə·hā·yāh לֶֽאֱכֹ֔ל consumed , le·’ĕ·ḵōl רַבּ֖וֹת and many rab·bō·wṯ רָע֥וֹת troubles rā·‘ō·wṯ וְצָר֑וֹת and afflictions wə·ṣā·rō·wṯ וּמְצָאֻ֛הוּ will befall them . ū·mə·ṣā·’u·hū הַה֔וּא On that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm וְאָמַר֙ they will say , wə·’ā·mar הֲלֹ֗א ‘ Have not hă·lō הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ these hā·’êl·leh הָרָע֥וֹת disasters hā·rā·‘ō·wṯ מְצָא֖וּנִי come upon us mə·ṣā·’ū·nî עַ֣ל because ‘al כִּֽי־ . . . kî- אֱלֹהַי֙ our God ’ĕ·lō·hay אֵ֤ין is no ’ên בְּקִרְבִּ֔י longer with us ? ’ bə·qir·bî Deuteronomy 31:18 וְאָנֹכִ֗י And wə·’ā·nō·ḵî הַה֔וּא on that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm הַסְתֵּ֨ר I will surely has·têr אַסְתִּ֤יר hide ’as·tîr פָּנַי֙ My face pā·nay עַ֥ל because of ‘al כָּל־ all kāl- הָרָעָ֖ה the evil hā·rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֑ה they have done ‘ā·śāh כִּ֣י . . . kî פָנָ֔ה by turning p̄ā·nāh אֶל־ to ’el- אֲחֵרִֽים׃ other ’ă·ḥê·rîm אֱלֹהִ֖ים gods . ’ĕ·lō·hîm Deuteronomy 31:19 וְעַתָּ֗ה Now therefore , wə·‘at·tāh כִּתְב֤וּ write down kiṯ·ḇū לָכֶם֙ for yourselves lā·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֹּ֔את this haz·zōṯ הַשִּׁירָ֣ה song haš·šî·rāh וְלַמְּדָ֥הּ and teach wə·lam·mə·ḏāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנֵי־ it to the Israelites bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . ; yiś·rā·’êl שִׂימָ֣הּ have them recite śî·māh בְּפִיהֶ֑ם it , bə·p̄î·hem לְמַ֨עַן so that lə·ma·‘an הַזֹּ֛את [it] haz·zōṯ הַשִּׁירָ֥ה . . . haš·šî·rāh תִּהְיֶה־ may be tih·yeh- לְעֵ֖ד a witness lə·‘êḏ לִּ֜י for Me lî בִּבְנֵ֥י against [them] biḇ·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ . . . . yiś·rā·’êl
