Deuteronomy 29:24כָּל־So allkāl-
הַגּוֹיִ֔םthe nationshag·gō·w·yim
וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ will ask , wə·’ā·mə·rū
עַל־‘ Why‘al-

מֶ֥הWhymeh
הַזֶּֽה׃thishaz·zeh
הַגָּד֖וֹלgreathag·gā·ḏō·wl
חֳרִ֛יoutburstḥo·rî
הָאַ֥ףof anger ? ’hā·’ap̄
Deuteronomy 29:25וְאָ֣מְר֔וּ And [the people] will answer , wə·’ā·mə·rū
עַ֚ל‘ It is because‘al
אֲשֶׁ֣ר-’ă·šer
עָֽזְב֔וּthey abandoned‘ā·zə·ḇū
אֶת־-’eṯ-
בְּרִ֥יתthe covenantbə·rîṯ
יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH , Yah·weh
אֱלֹהֵ֣יthe God’ĕ·lō·hê
אֲבֹתָ֑ם of their fathers , ’ă·ḇō·ṯām
אֲשֶׁר֙which’ă·šer
כָּרַ֣תHe madekā·raṯ
עִמָּ֔םwith them‘im·mām
בְּהוֹצִיא֥וֹwhen He broughtbə·hō·w·ṣî·’ōw
אֹתָ֖םthem’ō·ṯām
מֵאֶ֥רֶץout of the landmê·’e·reṣ
מִצְרָֽיִם׃of Egypt .miṣ·rā·yim
Deuteronomy 29:26וַיֵּלְכ֗וּThey wentway·yê·lə·ḵū
וַיַּֽעַבְדוּ֙and servedway·ya·‘aḇ·ḏū
אֲחֵרִ֔יםother’ă·ḥê·rîm
אֱלֹהִ֣ים gods , ’ĕ·lō·hîm
וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּ֖וּand they worshipedway·yiš·ta·ḥăw·wū
לָהֶ֑םlā·hem
אֱלֹהִים֙gods’ĕ·lō·hîm
אֲשֶׁ֣ר-’ă·šer
לֹֽא־they had notlō-
יְדָע֔וּםknown —yə·ḏā·‘ūm
וְלֹ֥אgods that [YHWH] had notwə·lō
חָלַ֖קgivenḥā·laq
לָהֶֽם׃to them .lā·hem

וַיִּֽחַר־burnedway·yi·ḥar-
הַהִ֑ואagainst thisha·hi·w
בָּאָ֣רֶץ land , bā·’ā·reṣ
לְהָבִ֤יאand He broughtlə·hā·ḇî
עָלֶ֙יהָ֙upon it‘ā·le·hā
אֶת־-’eṯ-
כָּל־everykāl-
הַקְּלָלָ֔הcursehaq·qə·lā·lāh
הַכְּתוּבָ֖הwrittenhak·kə·ṯū·ḇāh
הַזֶּֽה׃in thishaz·zeh
בַּסֵּ֥פֶרbook .bas·sê·p̄er

וַיִּתְּשֵׁ֤םuprooted themway·yit·tə·šêm
מֵעַ֣לfrommê·‘al
אַדְמָתָ֔םtheir land’aḏ·mā·ṯām
בְּאַ֥ף in His anger , bə·’ap̄
וּבְחֵמָ֖ה rage , ū·ḇə·ḥê·māh
גָּד֑וֹלand greatgā·ḏō·wl
וּבְקֶ֣צֶף wrath , ū·ḇə·qe·ṣep̄
וַיַּשְׁלִכֵ֛םand He cast themway·yaš·li·ḵêm
אֶל־into’el-
אַחֶ֖רֶתanother’a·ḥe·reṯ
אֶ֥רֶץ land , ’e·reṣ
כַּיּ֥וֹםwhere they are todaykay·yō·wm
הַזֶּֽה׃. . . . ’haz·zeh
Deuteronomy 29:29הַ֨נִּסְתָּרֹ֔תThe secret [things belong]han·nis·tā·rōṯ
לַיהוָ֖הto YHWHYah·weh
אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ our God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū
וְהַנִּגְלֹ֞תbut the things revealedwə·han·niḡ·lōṯ
לָ֤ׄנׄוּׄbelong to uslå̄·nū
וּׄלְׄבָׄנֵׄ֙יׄנׄוּׄ֙and to our childrenū·lə·ḇå̄·nē·nū
עַד־forever‘aḏ-
עוֹלָ֔ם . . . , ‘ō·w·lām
