Deuteronomy 29:24 כָּל־ So all kāl- הַגּוֹיִ֔ם the nations hag·gō·w·yim וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ will ask , wə·’ā·mə·rū עַל־ ‘ Why ‘al- מֶ֨ה . . . meh יְהוָ֛ה has YHWH Yah·weh עָשָׂ֧ה done ‘ā·śāh כָּ֖כָה such a thing kā·ḵāh הַזֹּ֑את to this haz·zōṯ לָאָ֣רֶץ land ? lā·’ā·reṣ מֶ֥ה Why meh הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַגָּד֖וֹל great hag·gā·ḏō·wl חֳרִ֛י outburst ḥo·rî הָאַ֥ף of anger ? ’ hā·’ap̄ Deuteronomy 29:25 וְאָ֣מְר֔וּ And [the people] will answer , wə·’ā·mə·rū עַ֚ל ‘ It is because ‘al אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עָֽזְב֔וּ they abandoned ‘ā·zə·ḇū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּרִ֥ית the covenant bə·rîṯ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבֹתָ֑ם of their fathers , ’ă·ḇō·ṯām אֲשֶׁר֙ which ’ă·šer כָּרַ֣ת He made kā·raṯ עִמָּ֔ם with them ‘im·mām בְּהוֹצִיא֥וֹ when He brought bə·hō·w·ṣî·’ōw אֹתָ֖ם them ’ō·ṯām מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt . miṣ·rā·yim Deuteronomy 29:26 וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ They went way·yê·lə·ḵū וַיַּֽעַבְדוּ֙ and served way·ya·‘aḇ·ḏū אֲחֵרִ֔ים other ’ă·ḥê·rîm אֱלֹהִ֣ים gods , ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּ֖וּ and they worshiped way·yiš·ta·ḥăw·wū לָהֶ֑ם lā·hem אֱלֹהִים֙ gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ they had not lō- יְדָע֔וּם known — yə·ḏā·‘ūm וְלֹ֥א gods that [YHWH] had not wə·lō חָלַ֖ק given ḥā·laq לָהֶֽם׃ to them . lā·hem Deuteronomy 29:27 אַ֥ף Therefore the anger ’ap̄ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּֽחַר־ burned way·yi·ḥar- הַהִ֑וא against this ha·hi·w בָּאָ֣רֶץ land , bā·’ā·reṣ לְהָבִ֤יא and He brought lə·hā·ḇî עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ upon it ‘ā·le·hā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ every kāl- הַקְּלָלָ֔ה curse haq·qə·lā·lāh הַכְּתוּבָ֖ה written hak·kə·ṯū·ḇāh הַזֶּֽה׃ in this haz·zeh בַּסֵּ֥פֶר book . bas·sê·p̄er Deuteronomy 29:28 יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּתְּשֵׁ֤ם uprooted them way·yit·tə·šêm מֵעַ֣ל from mê·‘al אַדְמָתָ֔ם their land ’aḏ·mā·ṯām בְּאַ֥ף in His anger , bə·’ap̄ וּבְחֵמָ֖ה rage , ū·ḇə·ḥê·māh גָּד֑וֹל and great gā·ḏō·wl וּבְקֶ֣צֶף wrath , ū·ḇə·qe·ṣep̄ וַיַּשְׁלִכֵ֛ם and He cast them way·yaš·li·ḵêm אֶל־ into ’el- אַחֶ֖רֶת another ’a·ḥe·reṯ אֶ֥רֶץ land , ’e·reṣ כַּיּ֥וֹם where they are today kay·yō·wm הַזֶּֽה׃ . . . . ’ haz·zeh Deuteronomy 29:29 הַ֨נִּסְתָּרֹ֔ת The secret [things belong] han·nis·tā·rōṯ לַיהוָ֖ה to YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ our God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū וְהַנִּגְלֹ֞ת but the things revealed wə·han·niḡ·lōṯ לָ֤ׄנׄוּׄ belong to us lå̄·nū וּׄלְׄבָׄנֵׄ֙יׄנׄוּׄ֙ and to our children ū·lə·ḇå̄·nē·nū עַד־ forever ‘aḏ- עוֹלָ֔ם . . . , ‘ō·w·lām לַעֲשׂ֕וֹת so that we may follow la·‘ă·śō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl-
