עֹמֵ֣ד are standing ‘ō·mêḏ פֹּ֗ה here pōh עִמָּ֙נוּ֙ with us ‘im·mā·nū הַיּ֔וֹם today hay·yō·wm לִפְנֵ֖י in the presence lip̄·nê יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ our God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū וְאֵ֨ת as well as wə·’êṯ אֲשֶׁ֥ר with those who ’ă·šer אֵינֶ֛נּוּ are not ’ê·nen·nū פֹּ֖ה here today pōh עִמָּ֥נוּ . . . ‘im·mā·nū הַיּֽוֹם׃ . . . . hay·yō·wm Deuteronomy 29:16 כִּֽי־ For kî- אַתֶּ֣ם you yourselves ’at·tem יְדַעְתֶּ֔ם know yə·ḏa‘·tem אֵ֥ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁר־ how ’ă·šer- יָשַׁ֖בְנוּ we lived yā·šaḇ·nū בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt miṣ·rā·yim וְאֵ֧ת and wə·’êṯ אֲשֶׁר־ how ’ă·šer- עָבַ֛רְנוּ we passed ‘ā·ḇar·nū בְּקֶ֥רֶב through bə·qe·reḇ הַגּוֹיִ֖ם the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer עֲבַרְתֶּֽם׃ on the way [here] . ‘ă·ḇar·tem Deuteronomy 29:17 וַתִּרְאוּ֙ You saw wat·tir·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שִׁקּ֣וּצֵיהֶ֔ם the abominations šiq·qū·ṣê·hem וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ גִּלֻּלֵיהֶ֑ם and idols gil·lu·lê·hem אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer עִמָּהֶֽם׃ among them ‘im·mā·hem עֵ֣ץ made of wood ‘êṣ וָאֶ֔בֶן and stone , wā·’e·ḇen כֶּ֥סֶף of silver ke·sep̄ וְזָהָ֖ב and gold . wə·zā·hāḇ Deuteronomy 29:18 יֵ֣שׁ Make sure there is yêš פֶּן־ no pen- אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš אִשָּׁ֞ה or woman , ’iš·šāh א֧וֹ . . . ’ōw מִשְׁפָּחָ֣ה clan miš·pā·ḥāh אוֹ־ . . . ’ōw- אוֹ־ or ’ōw- שֵׁ֗בֶט tribe šê·ḇeṭ בָּ֠כֶם among you bā·ḵem הַיּוֹם֙ today hay·yō·wm אֲשֶׁר֩ whose ’ă·šer לְבָב֨וֹ heart lə·ḇā·ḇōw פֹנֶ֤ה turns away p̄ō·neh מֵעִם֙ from mê·‘im יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū לָלֶ֣כֶת to go lā·le·ḵeṯ לַעֲבֹ֔ד and worship la·‘ă·ḇōḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֱלֹהֵ֖י the gods ’ĕ·lō·hê הָהֵ֑ם of those hā·hêm הַגּוֹיִ֣ם nations . hag·gō·w·yim יֵ֣שׁ Make sure there is yêš פֶּן־ no pen- שֹׁ֛רֶשׁ root šō·reš בָּכֶ֗ם among you bā·ḵem פֹּרֶ֥ה that bears pō·reh רֹ֖אשׁ such poisonous rōš וְלַעֲנָֽה׃ and bitter fruit , wə·la·‘ă·nāh Deuteronomy 29:19 וְהָיָ֡ה - wə·hā·yāh בְּשָׁמְעוֹ֩ because when such a person hears bə·šā·mə·‘ōw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דִּבְרֵ֨י the words diḇ·rê הַזֹּ֗את of this haz·zōṯ הָֽאָלָ֜ה oath , hā·’ā·lāh וְהִתְבָּרֵ֨ךְ he invokes a blessing wə·hiṯ·bā·rêḵ בִּלְבָב֤וֹ on himself , bil·ḇā·ḇōw לֵאמֹר֙ saying , lê·mōr לִּ֔י ‘ I lî יִֽהְיֶה־ will have yih·yeh- שָׁל֣וֹם peace , šā·lō·wm כִּ֛י even though kî אֵלֵ֑ךְ I walk ’ê·lêḵ לְמַ֛עַן . . . lə·ma·‘an בִּשְׁרִר֥וּת in the stubbornness biš·ri·rūṯ לִבִּ֖י of my own heart . ’ lib·bî סְפ֥וֹת This will bring disaster sə·p̄ō·wṯ הָרָוָ֖ה on the watered [land] hā·rā·wāh
