Deuteronomy 28:46 וְהָי֣וּ These curses will be wə·hā·yū לְא֖וֹת a sign lə·’ō·wṯ וּלְמוֹפֵ֑ת and a wonder ū·lə·mō·w·p̄êṯ בְךָ֔ upon you ḇə·ḵā וּֽבְזַרְעֲךָ֖ and your descendants ū·ḇə·zar·‘ă·ḵā עַד־ forever ‘aḏ- עוֹלָֽם׃ . . . . ‘ō·w·lām Deuteronomy 28:47 תַּ֗חַת Because ta·ḥaṯ אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer לֹא־ you did not lō- עָבַ֙דְתָּ֙ serve ‘ā·ḇaḏ·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā בְּשִׂמְחָ֖ה with joy bə·śim·ḥāh וּבְט֣וּב and gladness ū·ḇə·ṭūḇ לֵבָ֑ב of heart lê·ḇāḇ כֹּֽל׃ in all kōl מֵרֹ֖ב your abundance , mê·rōḇ Deuteronomy 28:48 וְעָבַדְתָּ֣ you will serve wə·‘ā·ḇaḏ·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֹיְבֶ֗יךָ your enemies ’ō·yə·ḇe·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh יְשַׁלְּחֶ֤נּוּ will send yə·šal·lə·ḥen·nū בָּ֔ךְ against you bāḵ בְּרָעָ֧ב in famine , bə·rā·‘āḇ וּבְצָמָ֛א thirst , ū·ḇə·ṣā·mā וּבְעֵירֹ֖ם nakedness , ū·ḇə·‘ê·rōm וּבְחֹ֣סֶר and destitution ū·ḇə·ḥō·ser כֹּ֑ל . . . . kōl וְנָתַ֞ן He will place wə·nā·ṯan בַּרְזֶל֙ an iron bar·zel עֹ֤ל yoke ‘ōl עַל־ on ‘al- צַוָּארֶ֔ךָ your neck ṣaw·wā·re·ḵā עַ֥ד until ‘aḏ הִשְׁמִיד֖וֹ He has destroyed hiš·mî·ḏōw אֹתָֽךְ׃ you . ’ō·ṯāḵ Deuteronomy 28:49 יְהוָה֩ YHWH Yah·weh יִשָּׂ֣א will bring yiś·śā גּ֤וֹי a nation gō·w מֵרָחוֹק֙ from afar , mê·rā·ḥō·wq מִקְצֵ֣ה from the ends of miq·ṣêh הָאָ֔רֶץ the earth , hā·’ā·reṣ יִדְאֶ֖ה to swoop down yiḏ·’eh עָלֶ֨יךָ upon you ‘ā·le·ḵā כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר like ka·’ă·šer הַנָּ֑שֶׁר an eagle — han·nā·šer גּ֕וֹי a nation gō·w אֲשֶׁ֥ר whose ’ă·šer לְשֹׁנֽוֹ׃ language lə·šō·nōw לֹא־ you will not lō- תִשְׁמַ֖ע understand , ṯiš·ma‘ Deuteronomy 28:50 עַ֣ז a ruthless ‘az פָּנִ֑ים . . . pā·nîm אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer גּ֖וֹי nation gō·w לֹא־ with no lō- יִשָּׂ֤א respect yiś·śā פָנִים֙ . . . p̄ā·nîm לְזָקֵ֔ן for the old lə·zā·qên לֹ֥א and no lō יָחֹֽן׃ pity yā·ḥōn וְנַ֖עַר for the young . wə·na·‘ar Deuteronomy 28:51 וְ֠אָכַל They will eat wə·’ā·ḵal פְּרִ֨י the offspring pə·rî בְהֶמְתְּךָ֥ of your livestock ḇə·hem·tə·ḵā וּפְרִֽי־ and the produce ū·p̄ə·rî- אַדְמָתְךָ֮ of your land ’aḏ·mā·ṯə·ḵā עַ֣ד until ‘aḏ הִשָּֽׁמְדָךְ֒ you are destroyed . hiš·šā·mə·ḏāḵ אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer יַשְׁאִ֜יר They will leave yaš·’îr לְךָ֗ you lə·ḵā לֹֽא־ no lō- דָּגָן֙ grain dā·ḡān תִּיר֣וֹשׁ or new wine tî·rō·wōš וְיִצְהָ֔ר or oil , wə·yiṣ·hār שְׁגַ֥ר no calves šə·ḡar אֲלָפֶ֖יךָ of your herds ’ă·lā·p̄e·ḵā וְעַשְׁתְּרֹ֣ת or lambs wə·‘aš·tə·rōṯ
