כִּֽי־ For kî- עָשְׂתָ֤ה she has committed ‘ā·śə·ṯāh נְבָלָה֙ an outrage nə·ḇā·lāh בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל in Israel bə·yiś·rā·’êl לִזְנ֖וֹת by being promiscuous liz·nō·wṯ אָבִ֑יהָ in her father’s ’ā·ḇî·hā בֵּ֣ית house . bêṯ וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ So you must purge ū·ḇi·‘ar·tā הָרָ֖ע the evil hā·rā‘ מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃ס from among you . miq·qir·be·ḵā Deuteronomy 22:22 כִּֽי־ If kî- אִ֜ישׁ a man ’îš יִמָּצֵ֨א is found yim·mā·ṣê שֹׁכֵ֣ב׀ lying šō·ḵêḇ עִם־ with ‘im- בַּ֗עַל another man’s ba·‘al אִשָּׁ֣ה wife , ’iš·šāh בְעֻֽלַת־ . . . ḇə·‘u·laṯ- גַּם־ both gam- שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם . . . šə·nê·hem הָאִ֛ישׁ the man hā·’îš הַשֹּׁכֵ֥ב who slept haš·šō·ḵêḇ עִם־ with ‘im- הָאִשָּׁ֖ה [her] hā·’iš·šāh וְהָאִשָּׁ֑ה and the woman wə·hā·’iš·šāh וּמֵ֙תוּ֙ must die . ū·mê·ṯū וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ You must purge ū·ḇi·‘ar·tā הָרָ֖ע the evil hā·rā‘ מִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס from Israel . mî·yiś·rā·’êl Deuteronomy 22:23 כִּ֤י If kî יִהְיֶה֙ there is yih·yeh נַעַר vvv na·ʿar בְתוּלָ֔ה a virgin ḇə·ṯū·lāh מְאֹרָשָׂ֖ה pledged in marriage mə·’ō·rā·śāh לְאִ֑ישׁ to a man , lə·’îš אִ֛ישׁ and another man ’îš וּמְצָאָ֥הּ encounters her ū·mə·ṣā·’āh בָּעִ֖יר in the city bā·‘îr וְשָׁכַ֥ב and sleeps wə·šā·ḵaḇ עִמָּֽהּ׃ with her , ‘im·māh Deuteronomy 22:24 שְׁנֵיהֶ֜ם you must take both šə·nê·hem וְהוֹצֵאתֶ֨ם of them out wə·hō·w·ṣê·ṯem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶל־ to ’el- שַׁ֣עַר׀ the gate ša·‘ar הַהִ֗וא of that ha·hi·w הָעִ֣יר city hā·‘îr וּסְקַלְתֶּ֨ם and stone ū·sə·qal·tem אֹתָ֥ם - ’ō·ṯām בָּאֲבָנִים֮ them bā·’ă·ḇā·nîm וָמֵתוּ֒ to death — wā·mê·ṯū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַנַּעַר the young woman han·na·ʿar עַל־ because ‘al- דְּבַר֙ . . . də·ḇar אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer לֹא־ she did not lō- צָעֲקָ֣ה cry out ṣā·‘ă·qāh בָעִ֔יר in the city , ḇā·‘îr וְאֶ֨ת־ - wə·’eṯ- הָאִ֔ישׁ and the man hā·’îš עַל־ because ‘al- דְּבַ֥ר . . . də·ḇar אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- עִנָּ֖ה he has violated ‘in·nāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רֵעֵ֑הוּ his neighbor’s rê·‘ê·hū אֵ֣שֶׁת wife . ’ê·šeṯ וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ So you must purge ū·ḇi·‘ar·tā הָרָ֖ע the evil hā·rā‘ מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃ס from among you . miq·qir·be·ḵā Deuteronomy 22:25 וְֽאִם־ But if wə·’im- הָאִ֗ישׁ the man hā·’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִמְצָ֣א encounters yim·ṣā הַמְאֹ֣רָשָׂ֔ה a betrothed ham·’ō·rā·śāh הַנַּעַר woman han·na·ʿar בַּשָּׂדֶ֞ה in the open country , baś·śā·ḏeh הָאִ֖ישׁ and he hā·’îš וְהֶחֱזִֽיק־ overpowers wə·he·ḥĕ·zîq- בָּ֥הּ her bāh וְשָׁכַ֣ב and lies wə·šā·ḵaḇ עִמָּ֑הּ with her , ‘im·māh לְבַדּֽוֹ׃ only lə·ḇad·dōw הָאִ֛ישׁ the man hā·’îš אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- שָׁכַ֥ב [has done this] šā·ḵaḇ עִמָּ֖הּ . . . ‘im·māh
