עֽוֹד׃ again . ’ ‘ō·wḏ Deuteronomy 17:17 וְלֹ֤א He must not wə·lō יַרְבֶּה־ take many yar·beh- נָשִׁ֔ים wives nā·šîm לּוֹ֙ for himself , lōw וְלֹ֥א lest wə·lō לְבָב֑וֹ his heart lə·ḇā·ḇōw יָס֖וּר go astray . yā·sūr לֹ֥א He must not lō יַרְבֶּה־ accumulate yar·beh- לּ֖וֹ for himself lōw מְאֹֽד׃ large amounts mə·’ōḏ וְכֶ֣סֶף of silver wə·ḵe·sep̄ וְזָהָ֔ב and gold . wə·zā·hāḇ Deuteronomy 17:18 וְהָיָ֣ה - wə·hā·yāh כְשִׁבְתּ֔וֹ When he is seated ḵə·šiḇ·tōw עַ֖ל on ‘al מַמְלַכְתּ֑וֹ his royal mam·laḵ·tōw כִּסֵּ֣א throne , kis·sê וְכָ֨תַב he must write wə·ḵā·ṯaḇ ל֜וֹ for himself lōw אֶת־ ’eṯ- מִשְׁנֵ֨ה a copy miš·nêh הַזֹּאת֙ of this haz·zōṯ הַתּוֹרָ֤ה instruction hat·tō·w·rāh עַל־ on ‘al- סֵ֔פֶר a scroll sê·p̄er מִלִּפְנֵ֥י in the presence mil·lip̄·nê הַלְוִיִּֽם׃ of the Levitical hal·wî·yim הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים priests . hak·kō·hă·nîm Deuteronomy 17:19 וְהָיְתָ֣ה It is to remain wə·hā·yə·ṯāh עִמּ֔וֹ with him , ‘im·mōw וְקָ֥רָא and he is to read wə·qā·rā ב֖וֹ from it ḇōw כָּל־ all kāl- יְמֵ֣י the days yə·mê חַיָּ֑יו of his life , ḥay·yāw לְמַ֣עַן so that lə·ma·‘an יִלְמַ֗ד he may learn yil·maḏ לְיִרְאָה֙ to fear lə·yir·’āh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָ֔יו his God ’ĕ·lō·hāw לִ֠שְׁמֹר by carefully observing liš·mōr אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- דִּבְרֵ֞י the words diḇ·rê הַזֹּ֛את of this haz·zōṯ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַתּוֹרָ֥ה instruction hat·tō·w·rāh הָאֵ֖לֶּה and these hā·’êl·leh הַחֻקִּ֥ים statutes ha·ḥuq·qîm לַעֲשֹׂתָֽם׃ - . la·‘ă·śō·ṯām Deuteronomy 17:20 לְבָבוֹ֙ Then his heart lə·ḇā·ḇōw לְבִלְתִּ֤י will not lə·ḇil·tî רוּם־ be exalted rūm- מִן־ above min- מֵֽאֶחָ֔יו his countrymen , mê·’e·ḥāw וּלְבִלְתִּ֛י and he will not ū·lə·ḇil·tî ס֥וּר turn aside sūr הַמִּצְוָ֖ה from the commandment , ham·miṣ·wāh יָמִ֣ין to the right yā·mîn וּשְׂמֹ֑אול or to the left , ū·śə·mō·wl לְמַעַן֩ in order that lə·ma·‘an ה֥וּא he hū וּבָנָ֖יו and his sons ū·ḇā·nāw יַאֲרִ֨יךְ may reign ya·’ă·rîḵ יָמִ֧ים many years yā·mîm עַל־ over ‘al- מַמְלַכְתּ֛וֹ his kingdom mam·laḵ·tōw בְּקֶ֥רֶב in bə·qe·reḇ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Deuteronomy 18:1 הַלְוִיִּ֜ם The Levitical hal·wî·yim לַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים priests — lak·kō·hă·nîm כָּל־ indeed the whole kāl- שֵׁ֧בֶט tribe šê·ḇeṭ לֵוִ֛י of Levi — lê·wî יִ֠הְיֶה shall have yih·yeh לֹֽא־ no lō- חֵ֥לֶק portion ḥê·leq וְנַחֲלָ֖ה or inheritance wə·na·ḥă·lāh עִם־ with ‘im- יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel . yiś·rā·’êl יֹאכֵלֽוּן׃ They are to eat yō·ḵê·lūn אִשֵּׁ֧י the offerings made by fire ’iš·šê
