וּבְרִשְׁעַת֙ is driving out ū·ḇə·riš·‘aṯ הָאֵ֔לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh הַגּוֹיִ֣ם nations hag·gō·w·yim מִפָּנֶֽיךָ׃ before you mip·pā·ne·ḵā מוֹרִישָׁ֥ם because of their wickedness . mō·w·rî·šām Deuteronomy 9:5 לֹ֣א It is not lō בְצִדְקָתְךָ֗ because of your righteousness ḇə·ṣiḏ·qā·ṯə·ḵā וּבְיֹ֙שֶׁר֙ or uprightness ū·ḇə·yō·šer לְבָ֣בְךָ֔ of heart lə·ḇā·ḇə·ḵā אַתָּ֥ה that you ’at·tāh בָ֖א are going in ḇā לָרֶ֣שֶׁת to possess lā·re·šeṯ אֶת־ ’eṯ- אַרְצָ֑ם their land , ’ar·ṣām כִּ֞י but [it is] because kî בְּרִשְׁעַ֣ת׀ of their wickedness bə·riš·‘aṯ יְהוָ֤ה that YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā מוֹרִישָׁ֣ם is driving out mō·w·rî·šām הָאֵ֗לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh הַגּוֹיִ֣ם nations hag·gō·w·yim מִפָּנֶ֔יךָ before you , mip·pā·ne·ḵā וּלְמַ֜עַן to ū·lə·ma·‘an הָקִ֣ים keep hā·qîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַדָּבָ֗ר the promise had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ He Yah·weh נִשְׁבַּ֤ע swore niš·ba‘ לַאֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ to your fathers , la·’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם to Abraham , lə·’aḇ·rā·hām לְיִצְחָ֖ק Isaac , lə·yiṣ·ḥāq וּֽלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃ and Jacob . ū·lə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ Deuteronomy 9:6 וְיָדַעְתָּ֗ Understand, then , wə·yā·ḏa‘·tā כִּ֠י that kî לֹ֤א it is not lō בְצִדְקָֽתְךָ֙ because of your righteousness ḇə·ṣiḏ·qā·ṯə·ḵā יְהוָ֣ה that YHWH Yah·weh אֱ֠לֹהֶיךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā נֹתֵ֨ן is giving nō·ṯên לְךָ֜ you lə·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֹּ֖את this haz·zōṯ הַטּוֹבָ֛ה good haṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh הָאָ֧רֶץ land hā·’ā·reṣ לְרִשְׁתָּ֑הּ to possess , lə·riš·tāh כִּ֥י for kî אָֽתָּה׃ you ’āt·tāh קְשֵׁה־ are a stiff-necked qə·šêh- עֹ֖רֶף . . . ‘ō·rep̄ עַם־ people . ‘am- Deuteronomy 9:7 זְכֹר֙ Remember this , zə·ḵōr אַל־ and never ’al- תִּשְׁכַּ֔ח forget tiš·kaḥ אֵ֧ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁר־ how ’ă·šer- הִקְצַ֛פְתָּ you provoked hiq·ṣap̄·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר in the wilderness . bam·miḏ·bār לְמִן־ From lə·min- הַיּ֞וֹם the day hay·yō·wm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יָצָ֣אתָ׀ you left yā·ṣā·ṯā מֵאֶ֣רֶץ the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרַ֗יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim עַד־ until ‘aḏ- בֹּֽאֲכֶם֙ you reached bō·’ă·ḵem עַד־ . . . ‘aḏ- הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הַמָּק֣וֹם place , ham·mā·qō·wm הֱיִיתֶ֖ם you have been hĕ·yî·ṯem מַמְרִ֥ים rebelling mam·rîm עִם־ against ‘im- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Deuteronomy 9:8 וּבְחֹרֵ֥ב At Horeb ū·ḇə·ḥō·rêḇ הִקְצַפְתֶּ֖ם you provoked hiq·ṣap̄·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh יְהוָ֛ה and He Yah·weh וַיִּתְאַנַּ֧ף was angry enough way·yiṯ·’an·nap̄ בָּכֶ֖ם bā·ḵem לְהַשְׁמִ֥יד to destroy lə·haš·mîḏ אֶתְכֶֽם׃ you . ’eṯ·ḵem
