הָֽאָדָ֖ם a man hā·’ā·ḏām וָחָֽי׃ can live wā·ḥāy אֱלֹהִ֛ים [even if] God ’ĕ·lō·hîm יְדַבֵּ֧ר speaks yə·ḏab·bêr אֶת־ with [him] . ’eṯ- Deuteronomy 5:25 וְעַתָּה֙ But now , wə·‘at·tāh לָ֣מָּה why lām·māh נָמ֔וּת should we die ? nā·mūṯ כִּ֣י For kî הַזֹּ֑את this haz·zōṯ הַגְּדֹלָ֖ה great hag·gə·ḏō·lāh הָאֵ֥שׁ fire hā·’êš תֹֽאכְלֵ֔נוּ will consume us , ṯō·ḵə·lê·nū וָמָֽתְנוּ׃ and we will die , wā·mā·ṯə·nū אִם־ if ’im- יֹסְפִ֣ים׀ - yō·sə·p̄îm אֲנַ֗חְנוּ we ’ă·naḥ·nū לִ֠שְׁמֹעַ hear liš·mō·a‘ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ק֨וֹל the voice qō·wl יְהוָ֧ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū ע֖וֹד any longer . ‘ō·wḏ Deuteronomy 5:26 כִּ֣י For kî מִ֣י who mî כָל־ of all ḵāl בָּשָׂ֡ר flesh bā·śār אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer שָׁמַ֣ע has heard šā·ma‘ קוֹל֩ the voice qō·wl חַיִּ֜ים of the living ḥay·yîm אֱלֹהִ֨ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm מְדַבֵּ֧ר speaking mə·ḏab·bêr מִתּוֹךְ־ out of mit·tō·wḵ- הָאֵ֛שׁ the fire , hā·’êš כָּמֹ֖נוּ as we [have] , kā·mō·nū וַיֶּֽחִי׃ and survived ? way·ye·ḥî Deuteronomy 5:27 קְרַ֤ב Go near qə·raḇ אַתָּה֙ ’at·tāh וּֽשֲׁמָ֔ע and listen ū·šă·mā‘ אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ to all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū יֹאמַ֖ר says . yō·mar וְאַ֣תְּ׀ Then you wə·’at תְּדַבֵּ֣ר can tell tə·ḏab·bêr אֵלֵ֗ינוּ . . . ’ê·lê·nū אֵת֩ us ’êṯ כָּל־ everything kāl- אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer יְהוָ֧ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū אֵלֶ֖יךָ . . . ’ê·le·ḵā יְדַבֵּ֜ר tells you ; yə·ḏab·bêr וְשָׁמַ֥עְנוּ we will listen wə·šā·ma‘·nū וְעָשִֽׂינוּ׃ and obey . ” wə·‘ā·śî·nū Deuteronomy 5:28 יְהוָה֙ And YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ק֣וֹל - qō·wl וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע heard way·yiš·ma‘ דִּבְרֵיכֶ֔ם the words diḇ·rê·ḵem בְּדַבֶּרְכֶ֖ם you spoke bə·ḏab·ber·ḵem אֵלָ֑י to me , ’ê·lāy יְהוָ֜ה and [He] Yah·weh וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלַ֗י to me , ’ê·lay שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי “ I have heard šā·ma‘·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ק֨וֹל - qō·wl דִּבְרֵ֜י the words diḇ·rê אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer הַזֶּה֙ these haz·zeh הָעָ֤ם people hā·‘ām דִּבְּר֣וּ have spoken dib·bə·rū אֵלֶ֔יךָ to you . ’ê·le·ḵā הֵיטִ֖יבוּ They have done well hê·ṭî·ḇū כָּל־ in all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer דִּבֵּֽרוּ׃ they have spoken . dib·bê·rū Deuteronomy 5:29 מִֽי־ If only mî- יִתֵּ֡ן . . . yit·tên וְהָיָה֩ they had wə·hā·yāh זֶ֜ה such zeh
