לִפְנֵ֖י by lip̄·nê אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃ your enemies . ” ’ō·yə·ḇê·ḵem Deuteronomy 1:43 וָאֲדַבֵּ֥ר So I spoke wā·’ă·ḏab·bêr אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם to you , ’ă·lê·ḵem וְלֹ֣א but you would not wə·lō שְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם listen . šə·ma‘·tem וַתַּמְרוּ֙ You rebelled against wat·tam·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פִּ֣י the command pî יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַתָּזִ֖דוּ and presumptuously wat·tā·zi·ḏū וַתַּעֲל֥וּ went up wat·ta·‘ă·lū הָהָֽרָה׃ into the hill country . hā·hā·rāh Deuteronomy 1:44 הָאֱמֹרִ֜י Then the Amorites hā·’ĕ·mō·rî הַיֹּשֵׁ֨ב who lived hay·yō·šêḇ הַהוּא֙ in ha·hū בָּהָ֤ר the hills bā·hār וַיֵּצֵ֨א came out way·yê·ṣê לִקְרַאתְכֶ֔ם against you liq·raṯ·ḵem וַיִּרְדְּפ֣וּ and chased way·yir·də·p̄ū אֶתְכֶ֔ם - ’eṯ·ḵem כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר you like ka·’ă·šer תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ינָה . . . ta·‘ă·śe·nāh הַדְּבֹרִ֑ים a swarm of bees . had·də·ḇō·rîm וַֽיַּכְּת֥וּ They routed way·yak·kə·ṯū אֶתְכֶ֛ם you ’eṯ·ḵem בְּשֵׂעִ֖יר from Seir bə·śê·‘îr עַד־ all the way ‘aḏ- חָרְמָֽה׃ to Hormah . ḥā·rə·māh Deuteronomy 1:45 וַתָּשֻׁ֥בוּ And you returned wat·tā·šu·ḇū וַתִּבְכּ֖וּ and wept wat·tiḇ·kū לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh יְהוָה֙ but [He] Yah·weh וְלֹֽא־ would not wə·lō- שָׁמַ֤ע listen šā·ma‘ בְּקֹ֣לְכֶ֔ם to your voice bə·qō·lə·ḵem וְלֹ֥א [or] wə·lō הֶאֱזִ֖ין give ear he·’ĕ·zîn אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ to you . ’ă·lê·ḵem Deuteronomy 1:46 וַתֵּשְׁב֥וּ For this reason you stayed wat·tê·šə·ḇū בְקָדֵ֖שׁ in Kadesh ḇə·qā·ḏêš יָמִ֣ים vvv yā·mîm רַבִּ֑ים for a long time — rab·bîm כַּיָּמִ֖ים a very long time kay·yā·mîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer יְשַׁבְתֶּֽם׃ - . yə·šaḇ·tem Deuteronomy 2:1 וַנֵּ֜פֶן Then we turned back wan·nê·p̄en וַנִּסַּ֤ע and headed wan·nis·sa‘ הַמִּדְבָּ֙רָה֙ for the wilderness ham·miḏ·bā·rāh דֶּ֣רֶךְ by way de·reḵ ס֔וּף of the Red sūp̄ יַם־ Sea , yam- כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר as ka·’ă·šer יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh אֵלָ֑י . . . ’ê·lāy דִּבֶּ֥ר had instructed me , dib·ber רַבִּֽים׃ס and for many rab·bîm יָמִ֥ים days yā·mîm וַנָּ֥סָב we wandered around wan·nā·sāḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַר־ Mount har- שֵׂעִ֖יר Seir . śê·‘îr Deuteronomy 2:2 יְהוָ֖ה At this time YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלַ֥י to me ’ê·lay לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . , lê·mōr Deuteronomy 2:3 סֹ֖ב “ You have been wandering around sōḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh הָהָ֣ר hill country hā·hār רַב־ long enough raḇ- לָכֶ֕ם ; lā·ḵem פְּנ֥וּ turn pə·nū לָכֶ֖ם lā·ḵem צָפֹֽנָה׃ to the north ṣā·p̄ō·nāh
