Deuteronomy 2:9 יְהוָ֜ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלַ֗י to me , ’ê·lay אֶל־ “ Do not ’el- תָּ֙צַר֙ harass tå̄·ṣar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מוֹאָ֔ב the Moabites mō·w·’āḇ וְאַל־ [or] wə·’al- תִּתְגָּ֥ר provoke tiṯ·gār בָּ֖ם them bām מִלְחָמָ֑ה to war , mil·ḥā·māh כִּ֠י for kî לֹֽא־ I will not lō- אֶתֵּ֨ן give ’et·tên לְךָ֤ you lə·ḵā מֵֽאַרְצוֹ֙ any of their land mê·’ar·ṣōw יְרֻשָּׁ֔ה - , yə·ruš·šāh כִּ֣י because kî נָתַ֥תִּי I have given nā·ṯat·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עָ֖ר Ar ‘ār לִבְנֵי־ to the descendants liḇ·nê- ל֔וֹט of Lot lō·wṭ יְרֻשָּֽׁה׃ as [their] possession . ” yə·ruš·šāh Deuteronomy 2:10 הָאֵמִ֥ים ( The Emites hā·’ê·mîm לְפָנִ֖ים used to lə·p̄ā·nîm יָ֣שְׁבוּ live yā·šə·ḇū בָ֑הּ there , ḇāh עַ֣ם a people ‘am גָּד֥וֹל great gā·ḏō·wl וְרַ֛ב and many , wə·raḇ וָרָ֖ם as tall wā·rām כָּעֲנָקִֽים׃ as the Anakites . kā·‘ă·nā·qîm Deuteronomy 2:11 כָּעֲנָקִ֑ים Like the Anakites , kā·‘ă·nā·qîm אַף־ they were also ’ap̄- הֵ֖ם . . . hêm יֵחָשְׁב֥וּ regarded yê·ḥā·šə·ḇū רְפָאִ֛ים as Rephaim , rə·p̄ā·’îm וְהַמֹּ֣אָבִ֔ים though the Moabites wə·ham·mō·’ā·ḇîm יִקְרְא֥וּ called yiq·rə·’ū לָהֶ֖ם them lā·hem אֵמִֽים׃ Emites . ’ê·mîm Deuteronomy 2:12 הַחֹרִים֮ The Horites ha·ḥō·rîm לְפָנִים֒ used to lə·p̄ā·nîm יָשְׁב֣וּ live yā·šə·ḇū וּבְשֵׂעִ֞יר in Seir , ū·ḇə·śê·‘îr וּבְנֵ֧י but the descendants ū·ḇə·nê עֵשָׂ֣ו of Esau ‘ê·śāw יִֽירָשׁ֗וּם drove them out . yî·rā·šūm וַיַּשְׁמִידוּם֙ They destroyed [the Horites] way·yaš·mî·ḏūm מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם from before them mip·pə·nê·hem וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ and settled way·yê·šə·ḇū תַּחְתָּ֑ם in their place , taḥ·tām כַּאֲשֶׁ֧ר just as ka·’ă·šer יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl עָשָׂ֣ה did ‘ā·śāh לְאֶ֙רֶץ֙ in the land lə·’e·reṣ אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh נָתַ֥ן gave nā·ṯan לָהֶֽם׃ them lā·hem יְרֻשָּׁת֔וֹ as their possession . ) yə·ruš·šā·ṯōw Deuteronomy 2:13 עַתָּ֗ה “ Now ‘at·tāh קֻ֛מוּ arise qu·mū וְעִבְר֥וּ and cross over wə·‘iḇ·rū לָכֶ֖ם lā·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַ֣חַל the Brook na·ḥal זָ֑רֶד of Zered . ” zā·reḏ וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֖ר So we crossed over wan·na·‘ă·ḇōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַ֥חַל the Brook na·ḥal זָֽרֶד׃ of Zered . zā·reḏ Deuteronomy 2:14 וְהַיָּמִ֞ים The time wə·hay·yā·mîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הָלַ֣כְנוּ׀ we spent traveling hā·laḵ·nū מִקָּדֵ֣שׁ from miq·qā·ḏêš בַּרְנֵ֗עַ Kadesh-barnea bar·nê·a‘ עַ֤ד until ‘aḏ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- עָבַ֙רְנוּ֙ we crossed over ‘ā·ḇar·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַ֣חַל the Brook na·ḥal זֶ֔רֶד of Zered ze·reḏ שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים was thirty-eight šə·lō·šîm
