מוֹת֙ the death mō·wṯ הַגָּדֹ֔ל of the high hag·gā·ḏōl הַכֹּהֵ֣ן priest hak·kō·hên הָרֹצֵ֔חַ may [he] hā·rō·ṣê·aḥ יָשׁוּב֙ return yā·šūḇ אֶל־ to ’el- אֶ֖רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ אֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃ he owns . ’ă·ḥuz·zā·ṯōw Numbers 35:29 אֵ֧לֶּה This ’êl·leh וְהָי֨וּ will be wə·hā·yū לְחֻקַּ֥ת a statutory lə·ḥuq·qaṯ מִשְׁפָּ֖ט ordinance miš·pāṭ לָכֶ֛ם for you lā·ḵem לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֑ם for the generations to come , lə·ḏō·rō·ṯê·ḵem בְּכֹ֖ל wherever bə·ḵōl מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ you live . mō·wō·šə·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem Numbers 35:30 כָּל־ If anyone kāl- מַ֨כֵּה־ kills mak·kêh- נֶ֔פֶשׁ a person , ne·p̄eš יִרְצַ֖ח the murderer yir·ṣaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָרֹצֵ֑חַ is to be put to death hā·rō·ṣê·aḥ לְפִ֣י on the testimony lə·p̄î עֵדִ֔ים of the witnesses . ‘ê·ḏîm לֹא־ But no lō- בְנֶ֖פֶשׁ one ḇə·ne·p̄eš לָמֽוּת׃ is to be put to death lā·mūṯ יַעֲנֶ֥ה based on the testimony ya·‘ă·neh אֶחָ֔ד of a lone ’e·ḥāḏ וְעֵ֣ד witness . wə·‘êḏ Numbers 35:31 וְלֹֽא־ You are not wə·lō- תִקְח֥וּ to accept ṯiq·ḥū כֹ֙פֶר֙ a ransom ḵō·p̄er לְנֶ֣פֶשׁ for the life lə·ne·p̄eš רֹצֵ֔חַ of a murderer rō·ṣê·aḥ אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- ה֥וּא . . . hū רָשָׁ֖ע deserves rā·šā‘ לָמ֑וּת to die ; lā·mūṯ כִּי־ . . . kî- מ֖וֹת he must surely be put to death mō·wṯ יוּמָֽת׃ . . . . yū·māṯ Numbers 35:32 וְלֹא־ Nor wə·lō- תִקְח֣וּ should you accept ṯiq·ḥū כֹ֔פֶר a ransom ḵō·p̄er לָנ֖וּס for the person who flees lā·nūs אֶל־ to ’el- עִ֣יר a city ‘îr מִקְלָט֑וֹ of refuge miq·lā·ṭōw לָשׁוּב֙ and allow him to return lā·šūḇ לָשֶׁ֣בֶת and live lā·še·ḇeṯ בָּאָ֔רֶץ on his own land bā·’ā·reṣ עַד־ before ‘aḏ- מ֖וֹת the death mō·wṯ הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ of the high priest . hak·kō·hên Numbers 35:33 וְלֹֽא־ Do not wə·lō- תַחֲנִ֣יפוּ pollute ṯa·ḥă·nî·p̄ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֗רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֤ר where ’ă·šer אַתֶּם֙ you ’at·tem בָּ֔הּ live , bāh כִּ֣י for kî הַדָּ֔ם bloodshed had·dām ה֥וּא . . . hū יַחֲנִ֖יף pollutes ya·ḥă·nîp̄ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֑רֶץ the land , hā·’ā·reṣ לֹֽא־ and no lō- יְכֻפַּ֗ר atonement can be made yə·ḵup·par וְלָאָ֣רֶץ for the land wə·lā·’ā·reṣ לַדָּם֙ on which the blood lad·dām אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer שֻׁפַּךְ־ is shed šup·paḵ- בָּ֔הּ , bāh כִּי־ except kî- אִ֖ם . . . ’im בְּדַ֥ם by the blood bə·ḏam שֹׁפְכֽוֹ׃ of the one who shed it . šō·p̄ə·ḵōw Numbers 35:34 וְלֹ֧א Do not wə·lō תְטַמֵּ֣א defile ṯə·ṭam·mê הָאָ֗רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ
