תָּרֵֽעוּ׃ do such a wicked thing ! tā·rê·‘ū Genesis 19:8 הִנֵּה־ Look , hin·nêh- נָ֨א . . . nā לִ֜י I have lî שְׁתֵּ֣י two šə·tê בָנ֗וֹת daughters ḇā·nō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֤ר who ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ have never lō- יָדְעוּ֙ slept with yā·ḏə·‘ū אִ֔ישׁ a man . ’îš אוֹצִֽיאָה־ Let me bring ’ō·w·ṣî·’āh- נָּ֤א . . . nā אֶתְהֶן֙ them ’eṯ·hen אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם to you , ’ă·lê·ḵem וַעֲשׂ֣וּ and you can do wa·‘ă·śū לָהֶ֔ן to them lā·hen כַּטּ֖וֹב as you please kaṭ·ṭō·wḇ בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֑ם . . . . bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem רַ֠ק But raq אַל־ do not ’al- תַּעֲשׂ֣וּ do ta·‘ă·śū דָבָ֔ר anything ḏā·ḇār הָאֵל֙ to these hā·’êl לָֽאֲנָשִׁ֤ים men , lā·’ă·nā·šîm כִּֽי־ for kî- עַל־ . . . ‘al- כֵּ֥ן . . . kên בָּ֖אוּ they have come bā·’ū בְּצֵ֥ל under the protection bə·ṣêl קֹרָתִֽי׃ of my roof . ” qō·rā·ṯî Genesis 19:9 גֶּשׁ־ “ Get out of the way geš- הָ֗לְאָה . . . ! ” hā·lə·’āh וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ׀ they replied . way·yō·mə·rū וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ And they declared , way·yō·mə·rū הָאֶחָ֤ד “ This one hā·’e·ḥāḏ בָּֽא־ came here bā- לָגוּר֙ as a foreigner , lā·ḡūr וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֣ט and he is already acting like a judge way·yiš·pōṭ שָׁפ֔וֹט . . . ! šā·p̄ō·wṭ עַתָּ֕ה Now ‘at·tāh נָרַ֥ע we will treat you worse nā·ra‘ לְךָ֖ lə·ḵā מֵהֶ֑ם than them . ” mê·hem וַיִּפְצְר֨וּ And they pressed way·yip̄·ṣə·rū בָאִ֤ישׁ . . . ḇā·’îš בְּלוֹט֙ in on Lot bə·lō·wṭ מְאֹ֔ד . . . mə·’ōḏ וַֽיִּגְּשׁ֖וּ and moved in way·yig·gə·šū לִשְׁבֹּ֥ר to break down liš·bōr הַדָּֽלֶת׃ the door . had·dā·leṯ Genesis 19:10 הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ But the men [inside] hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשְׁלְח֤וּ reached out way·yiš·lə·ḥū יָדָ֔ם . . . , yā·ḏām וַיָּבִ֧יאוּ pulled way·yā·ḇî·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ל֛וֹט Lot lō·wṭ הַבָּ֑יְתָה into the house hab·bā·yə·ṯāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם with them , ’ă·lê·hem סָגָֽרוּ׃ and shut sā·ḡā·rū הַדֶּ֖לֶת the door . had·de·leṯ Genesis 19:11 וְֽאֶת־ And wə·’eṯ- הִכּוּ֙ they struck hik·kū הָאֲנָשִׁ֞ים the men hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- פֶּ֣תַח at the entrance pe·ṯaḥ הַבַּ֗יִת . . . , hab·ba·yiṯ מִקָּטֹ֖ן young miq·qā·ṭōn וְעַד־ and wə·‘aḏ- גָּד֑וֹל old , gā·ḏō·wl בַּסַּנְוֵרִ֔ים with blindness , bas·san·wê·rîm וַיִּלְא֖וּ so that they wearied themselves way·yil·’ū לִמְצֹ֥א [trying] to find lim·ṣō הַפָּֽתַח׃ the door . hap·pā·ṯaḥ Genesis 19:12 הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים Then the [two] men hā·’ă·nā·šîm וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ said way·yō·mə·rū אֶל־ to ’el- ל֗וֹט Lot , lō·wṭ מִֽי־ “ Do mî- לְךָ֣ you have anyone lə·ḵā עֹ֚ד else ‘ōḏ פֹ֔ה here — p̄ōh חָתָן֙ a son-in-law , ḥā·ṯān וּבָנֶ֣יךָ your sons ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā
