Genesis 18:29 וַיֹּ֨סֶף Once again way·yō·sep̄ ע֜וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ לְדַבֵּ֤ר [Abraham] spoke lə·ḏab·bêr אֵלָיו֙ to [YHWH] , ’ê·lāw אוּלַ֛י “ Suppose ’ū·lay אַרְבָּעִ֑ים forty ’ar·bā·‘îm וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ . . . way·yō·mer יִמָּצְא֥וּן are found yim·mā·ṣə·’ūn שָׁ֖ם there ? ” šām וַיֹּאמַ֔ר He answered , way·yō·mar בַּעֲב֖וּר “ On account ba·‘ă·ḇūr הָאַרְבָּעִֽים׃ of the forty , hā·’ar·bā·‘îm לֹ֣א I will not lō אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֔ה do it . ” ’e·‘ĕ·śeh Genesis 18:30 וַ֠יֹּאמֶר Then [Abraham] said , way·yō·mer לַֽאדֹנָי֙ “ May the Lord la·ḏō·nāy אַל־ not ’al- נָ֞א . . . nā יִ֤חַר be angry , yi·ḥar וַאֲדַבֵּ֔רָה but let me speak [further] . wa·’ă·ḏab·bê·rāh אוּלַ֛י Suppose ’ū·lay שְׁלֹשִׁ֑ים thirty šə·lō·šîm יִמָּצְא֥וּן are found yim·mā·ṣə·’ūn שָׁ֖ם there ? ” šām וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ He replied , way·yō·mer אִם־ “ If ’im- אֶמְצָ֥א I find ’em·ṣā שְׁלֹשִֽׁים׃ thirty šə·lō·šîm שָׁ֖ם there , šām לֹ֣א I will not lō אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֔ה do it . ” ’e·‘ĕ·śeh Genesis 18:31 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר And [Abraham] said , way·yō·mer הִנֵּֽה־ “ Now that hin·nêh- נָ֤א . . . nā הוֹאַ֙לְתִּי֙ I have ventured hō·w·’al·tî לְדַבֵּ֣ר to speak lə·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- אֲדֹנָ֔י the Lord , ’ă·ḏō·nāy אוּלַ֛י suppose ’ū·lay עֶשְׂרִ֑ים twenty ‘eś·rîm יִמָּצְא֥וּן are found yim·mā·ṣə·’ūn שָׁ֖ם there ? ” šām וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ He answered , way·yō·mer בַּעֲב֖וּר “ On account ba·‘ă·ḇūr הָֽעֶשְׂרִֽים׃ of the twenty , hā·‘eś·rîm לֹ֣א I will not lō אַשְׁחִ֔ית destroy [it] . ” ’aš·ḥîṯ Genesis 18:32 וַ֠יֹּאמֶר Finally, [Abraham] said , way·yō·mer לַֽאדֹנָי֙ “ May the Lord la·ḏō·nāy אַל־ not ’al- נָ֞א . . . nā יִ֤חַר be angry , yi·ḥar וַאֲדַבְּרָ֣ה but let me speak wa·’ă·ḏab·bə·rāh אַךְ־ . . . ’aḵ- הַפַּ֔עַם once more . hap·pa·‘am אוּלַ֛י Suppose ’ū·lay עֲשָׂרָ֑ה ten ‘ă·śā·rāh יִמָּצְא֥וּן are found yim·mā·ṣə·’ūn שָׁ֖ם there ? ” šām וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ And He answered , way·yō·mer בַּעֲב֖וּר “ On account ba·‘ă·ḇūr הָעֲשָׂרָֽה׃ of the ten , hā·‘ă·śā·rāh לֹ֣א I will not lō אַשְׁחִ֔ית destroy [it] . ” ’aš·ḥîṯ Genesis 18:33 כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר When ka·’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh כִּלָּ֔ה had finished kil·lāh לְדַבֵּ֖ר speaking lə·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ with ’el- אַבְרָהָ֑ם Abraham , ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ He departed , way·yê·leḵ וְאַבְרָהָ֖ם and Abraham wə·’aḇ·rā·hām שָׁ֥ב returned šāḇ לִמְקֹמֽוֹ׃ home . lim·qō·mōw Genesis 19:1 שְׁנֵ֨י Now the two šə·nê הַמַּלְאָכִ֤ים angels ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm וַ֠יָּבֹאוּ arrived way·yā·ḇō·’ū סְדֹ֙מָה֙ at Sodom sə·ḏō·māh בָּעֶ֔רֶב in the evening , bā·‘e·reḇ וְל֖וֹט and Lot wə·lō·wṭ יֹשֵׁ֣ב was sitting yō·šêḇ בְּשַֽׁעַר־ in the gateway bə·ša·‘ar- סְדֹ֑ם of [the city] . sə·ḏōm
