Genesis 18:17 וַֽיהֹוָ֖ה And YHWH Yah·weh אָמָ֑ר said , ’ā·mār אֲנִי֙ “ Shall I ’ă·nî הַֽמְכַסֶּ֤ה hide ham·ḵas·seh מֵֽאַבְרָהָ֔ם from Abraham mê·’aḇ·rā·hām אֲשֶׁ֖ר what ’ă·šer אֲנִ֥י I ’ă·nî עֹשֶֽׂה׃ am about to do ? ‘ō·śeh Genesis 18:18 וְאַ֨בְרָהָ֔ם Abraham wə·’aḇ·rā·hām הָי֧וֹ {will} surely hā·yōw יִֽהְיֶ֛ה become yih·yeh גָּד֖וֹל a great gā·ḏō·wl וְעָצ֑וּם and powerful wə·‘ā·ṣūm לְג֥וֹי nation , lə·ḡō·w ב֔וֹ and through him ḇōw כֹּ֖ל all kōl גּוֹיֵ֥י the nations gō·w·yê הָאָֽרֶץ׃ of the earth hā·’ā·reṣ וְנִ֨בְרְכוּ {will} be blessed . wə·niḇ·rə·ḵū Genesis 18:19 כִּ֣י For kî יְדַעְתִּ֗יו I have chosen yə·ḏa‘·tîw לְמַעַן֩ him , lə·ma·‘an אֲשֶׁ֨ר so that ’ă·šer יְצַוֶּ֜ה he will command yə·ṣaw·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בָּנָ֤יו his children bā·nāw וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- בֵּיתוֹ֙ his household bê·ṯōw אַחֲרָ֔יו after him ’a·ḥă·rāw וְשָֽׁמְרוּ֙ to keep wə·šā·mə·rū דֶּ֣רֶךְ the way de·reḵ יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת by doing la·‘ă·śō·wṯ צְדָקָ֖ה what is right ṣə·ḏā·qāh וּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט and just , ū·miš·pāṭ לְמַ֗עַן in order that lə·ma·‘an יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh הָבִ֤יא may bring hā·ḇî עַל־ upon ‘al- אַבְרָהָ֔ם Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām אֵ֥ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁר־ what ’ă·šer- דִּבֶּ֖ר He has promised dib·ber עָלָֽיו׃ - . ” ‘ā·lāw Genesis 18:20 יְהוָ֔ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer זַעֲקַ֛ת “ The outcry za·‘ă·qaṯ סְדֹ֥ם against Sodom sə·ḏōm וַעֲמֹרָ֖ה and Gomorrah wa·‘ă·mō·rāh רָ֑בָּה is great . rāb·bāh כִּי־ Because kî- וְחַ֨טָּאתָ֔ם their sin wə·ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯām כִּ֥י - kî מְאֹֽד׃ is so mə·’ōḏ כָבְדָ֖ה grievous , ḵā·ḇə·ḏāh Genesis 18:21 אֵֽרֲדָה־ I will go down ’ê·ră·ḏāh- נָּ֣א . . . nā וְאֶרְאֶ֔ה to see wə·’er·’eh עָשׂ֣וּ׀ if their actions ‘ā·śū כָּלָ֑ה fully kā·lāh הַכְּצַעֲקָתָ֛הּ justify the outcry hak·kə·ṣa·‘ă·qā·ṯāh הַבָּ֥אָה that has reached hab·bā·’āh אֵלַ֖י Me . ’ê·lay וְאִם־ If wə·’im- לֹ֖א not , lō אֵדָֽעָה׃ I will find out . ” ’ê·ḏā·‘āh Genesis 18:22 הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים And [the two] men hā·’ă·nā·šîm וַיִּפְנ֤וּ turned way·yip̄·nū מִשָּׁם֙ away miš·šām וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ and went way·yê·lə·ḵū סְדֹ֑מָה toward Sodom , sə·ḏō·māh וְאַ֨בְרָהָ֔ם but Abraham wə·’aḇ·rā·hām עוֹדֶ֥נּוּ remained ‘ō·w·ḏen·nū עֹמֵ֖ד standing ‘ō·mêḏ לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Genesis 18:23 אַבְרָהָ֖ם Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיִּגַּ֥שׁ stepped forward way·yig·gaš וַיֹּאמַ֑ר and said , way·yō·mar
