Numbers 20:5 וְלָמָ֤ה Why wə·lā·māh הֶֽעֱלִיתֻ֙נוּ֙ have you led us up he·‘ĕ·lî·ṯu·nū מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם out of Egypt mim·miṣ·ra·yim לְהָבִ֣יא to bring lə·hā·ḇî אֹתָ֔נוּ us ’ō·ṯā·nū אֶל־ to ’el- הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh הָרָ֖ע wretched hā·rā‘ הַמָּק֥וֹם place ? ham·mā·qō·wm לֹ֣א׀ It is not lō מְק֣וֹם a place mə·qō·wm זֶ֗רַע of grain , ze·ra‘ וּתְאֵנָ֤ה figs , ū·ṯə·’ê·nāh וְגֶ֙פֶן֙ vines , wə·ḡe·p̄en וְרִמּ֔וֹן or pomegranates — wə·rim·mō·wn אַ֖יִן and there is no ’a·yin וּמַ֥יִם water ū·ma·yim לִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃ to drink ! ” liš·tō·wṯ Numbers 20:6 מֹשֶׁ֨ה Then Moses mō·šeh וְאַהֲרֹ֜ן and Aaron wə·’a·hă·rōn וַיָּבֹא֩ went way·yā·ḇō מִפְּנֵ֣י from the presence mip·pə·nê הַקָּהָ֗ל of the assembly haq·qā·hāl אֶל־ to ’el- פֶּ֙תַח֙ the entrance pe·ṯaḥ אֹ֣הֶל to the Tent ’ō·hel מוֹעֵ֔ד of Meeting . mō·w·‘êḏ וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ They fell facedown way·yip·pə·lū עַל־ . . . ‘al- פְּנֵיהֶ֑ם . . . , pə·nê·hem כְבוֹד־ and the glory ḵə·ḇō·wḏ- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיֵּרָ֥א appeared way·yê·rā אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃פ to them . ’ă·lê·hem Numbers 20:7 יְהוָ֖ה And YHWH Yah·weh וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר said way·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses mō·šeh לֵּאמֹֽר׃ . . . , lê·mōr Numbers 20:8 קַ֣ח “ Take qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמַּטֶּ֗ה the staff ham·maṭ·ṭeh וְהַקְהֵ֤ל and assemble wə·haq·hêl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעֵדָה֙ the congregation . hā·‘ê·ḏāh אַתָּה֙ You ’at·tāh אָחִ֔יךָ and your brother ’ā·ḥî·ḵā וְאַהֲרֹ֣ן Aaron wə·’a·hă·rōn וְדִבַּרְתֶּ֧ם are to speak wə·ḏib·bar·tem אֶל־ to ’el- הַסֶּ֛לַע the rock has·se·la‘ לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם while they watch , lə·‘ê·nê·hem וְנָתַ֣ן and it will pour out wə·nā·ṯan מֵימָ֑יו its water . mê·māw וְהוֹצֵאתָ֨ You will bring out wə·hō·w·ṣê·ṯā לָהֶ֥ם lā·hem מַ֙יִם֙ water ma·yim מִן־ from min- הַסֶּ֔לַע the rock has·se·la‘ וְהִשְׁקִיתָ֥ and provide drink wə·hiš·qî·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעֵדָ֖ה for the congregation hā·‘ê·ḏāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בְּעִירָֽם׃ and their livestock . ” bə·‘î·rām Numbers 20:9 מֹשֶׁ֛ה So Moses mō·šeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקַּ֥ח took way·yiq·qaḥ הַמַּטֶּ֖ה the staff ham·maṭ·ṭeh יְהוָ֑ה from YHWH’s Yah·weh מִלִּפְנֵ֣י presence , mil·lip̄·nê כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר just as ka·’ă·šer צִוָּֽהוּ׃ he had been commanded . ṣiw·wā·hū Numbers 20:10 מֹשֶׁ֧ה Then Moses mō·šeh וְאַהֲרֹ֛ן and Aaron wə·’a·hă·rōn אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּקְהִ֜לוּ gathered way·yaq·hi·lū הַקָּהָ֖ל the assembly haq·qā·hāl אֶל־ in ’el- פְּנֵ֣י front pə·nê הַסָּ֑לַע of the rock , has·sā·la‘ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and [Moses] said way·yō·mer לָהֶ֗ם to them , lā·hem
