נִדָּ֛ה of [purification] nid·dāh לֹא־ has not lō- זֹרַ֥ק been sprinkled zō·raq עָלָ֖יו on him ; ‘ā·lāw הֽוּא׃ he hū טָמֵ֥א is unclean . ṭā·mê Numbers 19:21 וְהָיְתָ֥ה This wə·hā·yə·ṯāh עוֹלָ֑ם is a permanent ‘ō·w·lām לְחֻקַּ֣ת statute lə·ḥuq·qaṯ לָּהֶ֖ם for [the people] : lå̄·hɛm וּמַזֵּ֤ה The one who sprinkles ū·maz·zêh מֵֽי־ the water mê- הַנִּדָּה֙ of [purification] han·nid·dāh יְכַבֵּ֣ס must wash yə·ḵab·bês בְּגָדָ֔יו his clothes , bə·ḡā·ḏāw וְהַנֹּגֵ֙עַ֙ and whoever touches wə·han·nō·ḡê·a‘ בְּמֵ֣י the water bə·mê הַנִּדָּ֔ה of [purification] han·nid·dāh יִטְמָ֖א will be unclean yiṭ·mā עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הָעָֽרֶב׃ evening . hā·‘ā·reḇ Numbers 19:22 וְכֹ֛ל Anything wə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הַטָּמֵ֖א the unclean haṭ·ṭā·mê יִגַּע־ person touches yig·ga‘- בּ֥וֹ bōw יִטְמָ֑א will become unclean , yiṭ·mā וְהַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ and anyone wə·han·ne·p̄eš הַנֹּגַ֖עַת who touches it han·nō·ḡa·‘aṯ תִּטְמָ֥א will be unclean tiṭ·mā עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הָעָֽרֶב׃פ evening . ” hā·‘ā·reḇ Numbers 20:1 הָֽרִאשׁ֔וֹן In the first hā·ri·šō·wn בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ month , ba·ḥō·ḏeš כָּל־ the whole kāl- הָ֨עֵדָ֤ה congregation hā·‘ê·ḏāh בְנֵֽי־ . . . ḇə·nê- יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ entered way·yā·ḇō·’ū מִדְבַּר־ the Wilderness miḏ·bar- צִן֙ of Zin ṣin הָעָ֖ם [and] hā·‘ām וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב stayed way·yê·šeḇ בְּקָדֵ֑שׁ in Kadesh . bə·qā·ḏêš שָׁם֙ There šām מִרְיָ֔ם Miriam mir·yām וַתָּ֤מָת died wat·tā·māṯ וַתִּקָּבֵ֖ר and was buried wat·tiq·qā·ḇêr שָֽׁם׃ . . . . šām Numbers 20:2 הָ֥יָה Now there was hā·yāh וְלֹא־ no wə·lō- מַ֖יִם water ma·yim לָעֵדָ֑ה for the congregation , lā·‘ê·ḏāh וַיִּקָּ֣הֲל֔וּ so they gathered way·yiq·qā·hă·lū עַל־ against ‘al- מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh וְעַֽל־ . . . wə·‘al- אַהֲרֹֽן׃ and Aaron . ’a·hă·rōn Numbers 20:3 הָעָ֖ם The people hā·‘ām וַיָּ֥רֶב quarreled way·yā·reḇ עִם־ with ‘im- מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses mō·šeh וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ and said way·yō·mə·rū לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . , lê·mōr וְל֥וּ “ If only wə·lū גָוַ֛עְנוּ we had perished ḡā·wa‘·nū בִּגְוַ֥ע . . . biḡ·wa‘ אַחֵ֖ינוּ with our brothers ’a·ḥê·nū לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH !
