Numbers 19:16 וְכֹ֨ל Anyone wə·ḵōl עַל־ in ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י the open field pə·nê הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה . . . haś·śā·ḏeh אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- יִגַּ֜ע touches yig·ga‘ בַּֽחֲלַל־ someone who has been killed ba·ḥă·lal- חֶ֙רֶב֙ by the sword ḥe·reḇ א֣וֹ or ’ōw בְמֵ֔ת has died of natural causes , ḇə·mêṯ אֽוֹ־ or ’ōw- אָדָ֖ם anyone who touches a human ’ā·ḏām בְעֶ֥צֶם bone ḇə·‘e·ṣem א֣וֹ or ’ōw בְקָ֑בֶר a grave , ḇə·qā·ḇer יִטְמָ֖א will be unclean yiṭ·mā שִׁבְעַ֥ת for seven šiḇ·‘aṯ יָמִֽים׃ days . yā·mîm Numbers 19:17 לַטָּמֵ֔א [For the purification] of the unclean person, laṭ·ṭā·mê וְלָֽקְחוּ֙ take wə·lā·qə·ḥū מֵעֲפַ֖ר some of the ashes mê·‘ă·p̄ar שְׂרֵפַ֣ת of the burnt śə·rê·p̄aṯ הַֽחַטָּ֑את sin offering , ha·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ וְנָתַ֥ן put them wə·nā·ṯan אֶל־ in ’el- כֶּֽלִי׃ a jar , ke·lî חַיִּ֖ים and pour fresh ḥay·yîm מַ֥יִם water ma·yim עָלָ֛יו over them . ‘ā·lāw Numbers 19:18 אִ֣ישׁ Then a man ’îš טָהוֹר֒ who is ceremonially clean ṭā·hō·wr וְלָקַ֨ח is to take wə·lā·qaḥ אֵז֜וֹב some hyssop , ’ê·zō·wḇ וְטָבַ֣ל dip wə·ṭā·ḇal בַּמַּיִם֮ it in the water , bam·ma·yim וְהִזָּ֤ה and sprinkle wə·hiz·zāh עַל־ . . . ‘al- הָאֹ֙הֶל֙ the tent , hā·’ō·hel וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- כָּל־ all kāl- הַכֵּלִ֔ים the furnishings , hak·kê·lîm וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- הַנְּפָשׁ֖וֹת and the people han·nə·p̄ā·šō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer הָֽיוּ־ were hā·yū- שָׁ֑ם there šām וְעַל־ . . . . wə·‘al- הַנֹּגֵ֗עַ He is also to sprinkle the one who touched han·nō·ḡê·a‘ בַּעֶ֙צֶם֙ a bone , ba·‘e·ṣem בַקָּֽבֶר׃ a grave , ḇaq·qā·ḇer בַמֵּ֖ת or a person who has died ḇam·mêṯ א֥וֹ . . . ’ōw א֣וֹ or ’ōw בֶֽחָלָ֔ל been slain ḇe·ḥā·lāl א֥וֹ . . . . ’ōw Numbers 19:19 הַטָּהֹר֙ The man who is ceremonially clean haṭ·ṭā·hōr עַל־ . . . ‘al- וְהִזָּ֤ה is to sprinkle wə·hiz·zāh הַטָּמֵ֔א the unclean person haṭ·ṭā·mê הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֖י on the third haš·šə·lî·šî בַּיּ֥וֹם day bay·yō·wm הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑י and on the seventh haš·šə·ḇî·‘î וּבַיּ֣וֹם day . ū·ḇay·yō·wm וְחִטְּאוֹ֙ After he purifies wə·ḥiṭ·ṭə·’ōw הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י the unclean person on the seventh haš·šə·ḇî·‘î בַּיּ֣וֹם day , bay·yō·wm וְכִבֶּ֧ס [the one being cleansed] must wash wə·ḵib·bes בְּגָדָ֛יו his clothes bə·ḡā·ḏāw וְרָחַ֥ץ and bathe wə·rā·ḥaṣ בַּמַּ֖יִם in water , bam·ma·yim בָּעָֽרֶב׃ and that evening bā·‘ā·reḇ וְטָהֵ֥ר he will be clean . wə·ṭā·hêr Numbers 19:20 וְאִ֤ישׁ But if a person wə·’îš אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- יִטְמָא֙ is unclean yiṭ·mā וְלֹ֣א does not wə·lō יִתְחַטָּ֔א purify yiṯ·ḥaṭ·ṭā הַהִ֖וא himself , ha·hi·w הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ [he] han·ne·p̄eš וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה will be cut off wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh מִתּ֣וֹךְ from mit·tō·wḵ הַקָּהָ֑ל the assembly , haq·qā·hāl כִּי֩ because kî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- טִמֵּ֗א he has defiled ṭim·mê מִקְדַּ֨שׁ the sanctuary miq·daš יְהוָ֜ה of YHWH .
