אֲלֵהֶ֗ם . . . : ’ă·lê·hem אָ֙נִי֙ As surely as I ’ā·nî חַי־ live , ḥay- נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה I will do ’e·‘ĕ·śeh לָכֶֽם׃ to you lā·ḵem אִם־ exactly ’im- לֹ֕א . . . lō כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר as ka·’ă·šer בְּאָזְנָ֑י I heard bə·’ā·zə·nāy כֵּ֖ן . . . kên דִּבַּרְתֶּ֖ם you say . dib·bar·tem Numbers 14:29 פִגְרֵיכֶ֜ם Your bodies p̄iḡ·rê·ḵem יִפְּל֨וּ will fall yip·pə·lū הַ֠זֶּה in this haz·zeh בַּמִּדְבָּ֣ר wilderness — bam·miḏ·bār וְכָל־ all wə·ḵāl פְּקֻדֵיכֶם֙ who were numbered pə·qu·ḏê·ḵem מִסְפַּרְכֶ֔ם in the census , mis·par·ḵem לְכָל־ everyone lə·ḵāl עֶשְׂרִ֥ים twenty ‘eś·rîm מִבֶּ֛ן years of age mib·ben שָׁנָ֖ה . . . šā·nāh וָמָ֑עְלָה or older — wā·mā·‘ə·lāh אֲשֶׁ֥ר because ’ă·šer הֲלִֽינֹתֶ֖ם you have grumbled hă·lî·nō·ṯem עָלָֽי׃ against Me . ‘ā·lāy Numbers 14:30 אִם־ Surely none ’im- אַתֶּם֙ of you ’at·tem תָּבֹ֣אוּ will enter tā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ . . . ’el- הָאָ֔רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֤ר in which ’ă·šer נָשָׂ֙אתִי֙ I swore nā·śā·ṯî אֶת־ ’eṯ- יָדִ֔י yā·ḏî לְשַׁכֵּ֥ן to settle you , lə·šak·kên אֶתְכֶ֖ם - ’eṯ·ḵem בָּ֑הּ bāh כִּ֚י except kî אִם־ . . . ’im- כָּלֵ֣ב Caleb kā·lêḇ בֶּן־ son ben- יְפֻנֶּ֔ה of Jephunneh yə·p̄un·neh וִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ and Joshua wî·hō·wō·šu·a‘ בִּן־ son bin- נֽוּן׃ of Nun . nūn Numbers 14:31 וְטַ֨פְּכֶ֔ם But I will bring your children , wə·ṭap·pə·ḵem אֲשֶׁ֥ר whom ’ă·šer אֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם you said ’ă·mar·tem יִהְיֶ֑ה would become yih·yeh לָבַ֣ז plunder , lā·ḇaz וְהֵבֵיאתִ֣י into wə·hê·ḇê·ṯî אֹתָ֔ם - ’ō·ṯām הָאָ֔רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer מְאַסְתֶּ֖ם you have rejected mə·’as·tem בָּֽהּ׃ — bāh וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ and they will enjoy it . wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- Numbers 14:32 אַתֶּ֑ם As for you , ’at·tem וּפִגְרֵיכֶ֖ם however, your bodies ū·p̄iḡ·rê·ḵem יִפְּל֖וּ will fall yip·pə·lū הַזֶּֽה׃ in this haz·zeh בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר wilderness . bam·miḏ·bār Numbers 14:33 וּ֠בְנֵיכֶם Your children ū·ḇə·nê·ḵem יִהְי֨וּ will be yih·yū רֹעִ֤ים shepherds rō·‘îm בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ in the wilderness bam·miḏ·bār אַרְבָּעִ֣ים for forty ’ar·bā·‘îm שָׁנָ֔ה years , šā·nāh וְנָשְׂא֖וּ and they will suffer wə·nā·śə·’ū אֶת־ ’eṯ- זְנוּתֵיכֶ֑ם [for] your unfaithfulness zə·nū·ṯê·ḵem עַד־ until the last ‘aḏ- פִּגְרֵיכֶ֖ם of your bodies piḡ·rê·ḵem תֹּ֥ם lies tōm בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ in the wilderness . bam·miḏ·bār Numbers 14:34 בְּמִסְפַּ֨ר In keeping with the bə·mis·par אַרְבָּעִ֣ים forty ’ar·bā·‘îm הַיָּמִ֜ים days hay·yā·mîm
