אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- תַּרְתֶּ֣ם you spied tar·tem אֶת־ ’eṯ- הָאָרֶץ֮ out the land , hā·’ā·reṣ תִּשְׂאוּ֙ you shall bear tiś·’ū אֶת־ ’eṯ- עֲוֺנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם your guilt ‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·ḵem אַרְבָּעִ֖ים forty ’ar·bā·‘îm שָׁנָ֑ה years — šā·nāh לַשָּׁנָ֗ה a year laš·šā·nāh לַשָּׁנָ֞ה for each day laš·šā·nāh י֣וֹם - yō·wm יוֹם֒ - yō·wm י֣וֹם - — yō·wm וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם and you will experience wî·ḏa‘·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- תְּנוּאָתִֽי׃ My alienation . tə·nū·’ā·ṯî Numbers 14:35 אֲנִ֣י I , ’ă·nî יְהוָה֮ YHWH , Yah·weh דִּבַּרְתִּי֒ have spoken , dib·bar·tî אִם־ and I will surely ’im- לֹ֣א׀ . . . lō אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֗ה do ’e·‘ĕ·śeh זֹ֣את these things zōṯ לְכָל־ to this entire lə·ḵāl הָֽרָעָה֙ wicked hā·rā·‘āh הַזֹּ֔את . . . haz·zōṯ הָעֵדָ֤ה congregation , hā·‘ê·ḏāh הַנּוֹעָדִ֖ים which has conspired han·nō·w·‘ā·ḏîm עָלָ֑י against Me . ‘ā·lāy יִתַּ֖מּוּ They will meet their end yit·tam·mū בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר in the wilderness , bam·miḏ·bār הַזֶּ֛ה . . . haz·zeh וְשָׁ֥ם and there wə·šām יָמֻֽתוּ׃ they will die . ” yā·mu·ṯū Numbers 14:36 וְהָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים So the men wə·hā·’ă·nā·šîm מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh שָׁלַ֥ח had sent šā·laḥ לָת֣וּר to spy out lā·ṯūr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֑רֶץ the land , hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- וַיָּשֻׁ֗בוּ had returned way·yā·šu·ḇū כָּל־ and made the whole kāl- הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה congregation hā·‘ê·ḏāh וַיִּלּוֹנוּ grumble way·yil·lō·nū עָלָיו֙ against him ‘ā·lāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְהוֹצִ֥יא by bringing out lə·hō·w·ṣî דִבָּ֖ה a bad report ḏib·bāh עַל־ about ‘al- הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the land — hā·’ā·reṣ Numbers 14:37 הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים those men hā·’ă·nā·šîm מוֹצִאֵ֥י who had brought out mō·w·ṣi·’ê רָעָ֑ה the bad rā·‘āh דִבַּת־ report ḏib·baṯ- הָאָ֖רֶץ about the land — hā·’ā·reṣ וַיָּמֻ֙תוּ֙ were struck down way·yā·mu·ṯū בַּמַּגֵּפָ֖ה by a plague bam·mag·gê·p̄āh לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH .
