אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- שָׁמְע֥וּ have heard šā·mə·‘ū אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- שִׁמְעֲךָ֖ of Your fame šim·‘ă·ḵā לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . lê·mōr וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ will say , wə·’ā·mə·rū Numbers 14:16 יְהוָ֗ה ‘ Because YHWH Yah·weh מִבִּלְתִּ֞י vvv mib·bil·tî יְכֹ֣לֶת was unable yə·ḵō·leṯ לְהָבִיא֙ to bring lə·hā·ḇî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הָעָ֣ם people hā·‘ām אֶל־ into ’el- הָאָ֖רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- נִשְׁבַּ֣ע He swore to give niš·ba‘ לָהֶ֑ם them , lā·hem וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖ם He has slaughtered them way·yiš·ḥā·ṭêm בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ in the wilderness . ’ bam·miḏ·bār Numbers 14:17 וְעַתָּ֕ה So now wə·‘at·tāh נָ֖א I pray , nā כֹּ֣חַ may the power kō·aḥ אֲדֹנָ֑י of my Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יִגְדַּל־ be magnified , yiḡ·dal- כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר just as ka·’ă·šer דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ You have declared dib·bar·tā לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . : lê·mōr Numbers 14:18 יְהוָ֗ה ‘ YHWH Yah·weh אֶ֤רֶךְ is slow ’e·reḵ אַפַּ֙יִם֙ to anger ’ap·pa·yim וְרַב־ and abounding wə·raḇ- חֶ֔סֶד in loving devotion , ḥe·seḏ נֹשֵׂ֥א forgiving nō·śê עָוֺ֖ן iniquity ‘ā·wōn וָפָ֑שַׁע and transgression . wā·p̄ā·ša‘ לֹ֣א Yet He will by no means lō יְנַקֶּ֔ה . . . yə·naq·qeh וְנַקֵּה֙ leave the guilty unpunished ; wə·naq·qêh פֹּקֵ֞ד He will visit pō·qêḏ עֲוֺ֤ן the iniquity ‘ă·wōn אָבוֹת֙ of the fathers ’ā·ḇō·wṯ עַל־ upon ‘al- בָּנִ֔ים their children bā·nîm עַל־ to ‘al- שִׁלֵּשִׁ֖ים the third šil·lê·šîm וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- רִבֵּעִֽים׃ and fourth [generation] . ’ rib·bê·‘îm Numbers 14:19 סְלַֽח־ Pardon , sə·laḥ- נָ֗א I pray , nā לַעֲוֺ֛ן the iniquity la·‘ă·wōn הַזֶּ֖ה of this haz·zeh הָעָ֥ם people , hā·‘ām כְּגֹ֣דֶל in keeping with the greatness kə·ḡō·ḏel חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ of Your loving devotion , ḥas·de·ḵā וְכַאֲשֶׁ֤ר just as wə·ḵa·’ă·šer נָשָׂ֙אתָה֙ You have forgiven nā·śā·ṯāh לָעָ֣ם [them] lā·‘ām הַזֶּ֔ה . . . haz·zeh וְעַד־ ever wə·‘aḏ- הֵֽנָּה׃ since hên·nāh מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם [they left] Egypt . ” mim·miṣ·ra·yim Numbers 14:20 סָלַ֖חְתִּי “ I have pardoned them sā·laḥ·tî כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ׃ as you requested , ” kiḏ·ḇā·re·ḵā יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר replied . way·yō·mer Numbers 14:21 וְאוּלָ֖ם “ Yet wə·’ū·lām אָ֑נִי as surely as I ’ā·nî חַי־ live ḥay- כָּל־ and as surely as the whole kāl- הָאָֽרֶץ׃ earth hā·’ā·reṣ וְיִמָּלֵ֥א is filled wə·yim·mā·lê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כְבוֹד־ with the glory ḵə·ḇō·wḏ- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH , Yah·weh Numbers 14:22 כִּ֣י - kî כָל־ [not one] ḵāl הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים of the men hā·’ă·nā·šîm הָרֹאִ֤ים who have seen hā·rō·’îm
