Genesis 15:12 הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ As the sun haš·še·meš וַיְהִ֤י was way·hî לָב֔וֹא setting , lā·ḇō·w אַבְרָ֑ם Abram ’aḇ·rām נָפְלָ֣ה fell nā·p̄ə·lāh עַל־ into ‘al- וְתַרְדֵּמָ֖ה a deep sleep , wə·ṯar·dê·māh וְהִנֵּ֥ה and suddenly wə·hin·nêh גְדֹלָ֖ה great ḡə·ḏō·lāh אֵימָ֛ה terror ’ê·māh חֲשֵׁכָ֥ה and darkness ḥă·šê·ḵāh נֹפֶ֥לֶת overwhelmed nō·p̄e·leṯ עָלָֽיו׃ him . ‘ā·lāw Genesis 15:13 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר Then [YHWH] said way·yō·mer לְאַבְרָ֗ם to Abram , lə·’aḇ·rām יָדֹ֨עַ “ Know yā·ḏō·a‘ תֵּדַ֜ע for certain tê·ḏa‘ כִּי־ that kî- זַרְעֲךָ֗ your descendants zar·‘ă·ḵā יִהְיֶ֣ה will be yih·yeh גֵ֣ר׀ strangers ḡêr בְּאֶ֙רֶץ֙ in a land bə·’e·reṣ לֹ֣א that is not lō לָהֶ֔ם their own , lā·hem וַעֲבָד֖וּם and they will be enslaved wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏūm וְעִנּ֣וּ and mistreated wə·‘in·nū אֹתָ֑ם - ’ō·ṯām אַרְבַּ֥ע four ’ar·ba‘ מֵא֖וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ שָׁנָֽה׃ years . šā·nāh Genesis 15:14 וְגַ֧ם But wə·ḡam אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אָנֹ֑כִי I ’ā·nō·ḵî דָּ֣ן will judge dān הַגּ֛וֹי the nation hag·gō·w אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer יַעֲבֹ֖דוּ they serve as slaves , ya·‘ă·ḇō·ḏū וְאַחֲרֵי־ and afterward wə·’a·ḥă·rê- כֵ֥ן . . . ḵên יֵצְא֖וּ they will depart yê·ṣə·’ū גָּדֽוֹל׃ with many gā·ḏō·wl בִּרְכֻ֥שׁ possessions . bir·ḵuš Genesis 15:15 וְאַתָּ֛ה You, however , wə·’at·tāh תָּב֥וֹא will go tā·ḇō·w אֶל־ to ’el- אֲבֹתֶ֖יךָ your fathers ’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā בְּשָׁל֑וֹם in peace bə·šā·lō·wm תִּקָּבֵ֖ר and be buried tiq·qā·ḇêr בְּשֵׂיבָ֥ה at a ripe old age bə·śê·ḇāh טוֹבָֽה׃ . . . . ṭō·w·ḇāh Genesis 15:16 רְבִיעִ֖י In the fourth rə·ḇî·‘î וְד֥וֹר generation wə·ḏō·wr יָשׁ֣וּבוּ [your descendants] will return yā·šū·ḇū הֵ֑נָּה here , hên·nāh כִּ֧י for kî עֲוֺ֥ן the iniquity ‘ă·wōn הָאֱמֹרִ֖י of the Amorites hā·’ĕ·mō·rî לֹא־ [is] not lō- עַד־ yet ‘aḏ- הֵֽנָּה׃ . . . hên·nāh שָׁלֵ֛ם complete . ” šā·lêm Genesis 15:17 הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ When the sun haš·še·meš בָּ֔אָה had set bā·’āh וַעֲלָטָ֖ה and darkness wa·‘ă·lā·ṭāh וַיְהִ֤י had fallen , way·hî הָיָ֑ה . . . hā·yāh וְהִנֵּ֨ה behold , wə·hin·nêh עָשָׁן֙ a smoking ‘ā·šān תַנּ֤וּר firepot ṯan·nūr אֵ֔שׁ and a flaming ’êš אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer וְלַפִּ֣יד torch wə·lap·pîḏ עָבַ֔ר appeared and passed ‘ā·ḇar בֵּ֖ין between bên הַגְּזָרִ֥ים the halves hag·gə·zā·rîm הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ [of the carcasses] . hā·’êl·leh Genesis 15:18 הַה֗וּא On that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh כָּרַ֧ת made kā·raṯ
