Genesis 15:5 וַיּוֹצֵ֨א And [YHWH] took way·yō·w·ṣê אֹת֜וֹ him ’ō·ṯōw הַח֗וּצָה outside ha·ḥū·ṣāh וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ and said , way·yō·mer נָ֣א “ Now nā הַבֶּט־ look hab·beṭ- הַשָּׁמַ֗יְמָה to the heavens haš·šā·may·māh וּסְפֹר֙ and count ū·sə·p̄ōr הַכּ֣וֹכָבִ֔ים the stars , hak·kō·w·ḵā·ḇîm אִם־ if you ’im- תּוּכַ֖ל are able tū·ḵal לִסְפֹּ֣ר . . . . ” lis·pōr אֹתָ֑ם - ’ō·ṯām וַיֹּ֣אמֶר Then He told way·yō·mer ל֔וֹ him , lōw כֹּ֥ה “ So {shall} kōh זַרְעֶֽךָ׃ your offspring zar·‘e·ḵā יִהְיֶ֖ה be . ” yih·yeh Genesis 15:6 וְהֶאֱמִ֖ן Abram believed wə·he·’ĕ·min בַּֽיהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh וַיַּחְשְׁבֶ֥הָ and it was credited way·yaḥ·šə·ḇe·hā לּ֖וֹ to him lōw צְדָקָֽה׃ as righteousness . ṣə·ḏā·qāh Genesis 15:7 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [YHWH] also told way·yō·mer אֵלָ֑יו him , ’ê·lāw אֲנִ֣י “ I ’ă·nî יְהוָ֗ה am YHWH , Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֤ר who ’ă·šer הוֹצֵאתִ֙יךָ֙ brought you hō·w·ṣê·ṯî·ḵā מֵא֣וּר out of Ur mê·’ūr כַּשְׂדִּ֔ים of the Chaldeans kaś·dîm לָ֧תֶת to give lā·ṯeṯ לְךָ֛ you lə·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֹּ֖את this haz·zōṯ הָאָ֥רֶץ land hā·’ā·reṣ לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ to possess . ” lə·riš·tāh Genesis 15:8 וַיֹּאמַ֑ר But [Abram] replied , way·yō·mar אֲדֹנָ֣י “ Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יֱהוִ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh בַּמָּ֥ה how bam·māh אֵדַ֖ע can I know ’ê·ḏa‘ כִּ֥י that kî אִֽירָשֶֽׁנָּה׃ I will possess it ? ” ’î·rā·šen·nāh Genesis 15:9 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר And [YHWH] said way·yō·mer אֵלָ֗יו to him , ’ê·lāw קְחָ֥ה “ Bring qə·ḥāh לִי֙ Me lî מְשֻׁלֶּ֔שֶׁת - mə·šul·le·šeṯ עֶגְלָ֣ה a heifer , ‘eḡ·lāh מְשֻׁלֶּ֖שֶׁת - mə·šul·le·šeṯ וְעֵ֥ז a goat , wə·‘êz וְאַ֣יִל and a ram , wə·’a·yil מְשֻׁלָּ֑שׁ [each] three years old , mə·šul·lāš וְתֹ֖ר along with a turtledove wə·ṯōr וְגוֹזָֽל׃ and a young pigeon . ” wə·ḡō·w·zāl Genesis 15:10 וַיִּֽקַּֽח־ So [Abram] brought way·yiq·qaḥ- כָּל־ all kāl- אֵ֗לֶּה these ’êl·leh ל֣וֹ to Him lōw אֶת־ - , ’eṯ- וַיְבַתֵּ֤ר split way·ḇat·têr אֹתָם֙ each of them ’ō·ṯām בַּתָּ֔וֶךְ down the middle , bat·tā·weḵ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן and laid way·yit·tên בִּתְר֖וֹ the halves biṯ·rōw לִקְרַ֣את opposite liq·raṯ אִישׁ־ each ’îš- רֵעֵ֑הוּ other . rê·‘ê·hū הַצִפֹּ֖ר The birds , ha·ṣip·pōr וְאֶת־ however , wə·’eṯ- לֹ֥א he did not lō בָתָֽר׃ cut in half . ḇā·ṯār Genesis 15:11 הָעַ֖יִט And the birds of prey hā·‘a·yiṭ וַיֵּ֥רֶד descended way·yê·reḏ עַל־ on ‘al- הַפְּגָרִ֑ים the carcasses , hap·pə·ḡā·rîm אַבְרָֽם׃ but Abram ’aḇ·rām וַיַּשֵּׁ֥ב drove them away . way·yaš·šêḇ אֹתָ֖ם - ’ō·ṯām
