יִמָּכְר֖וּ to be sold yim·mā·ḵə·rū מִמְכֶּ֥רֶת . . . mim·ke·reṯ עָֽבֶד׃ as slaves . ‘ā·ḇeḏ Leviticus 25:43 לֹא־ You are not lō- תִרְדֶּ֥ה to rule ṯir·deh ב֖וֹ over them ḇōw בְּפָ֑רֶךְ harshly , bə·p̄ā·reḵ וְיָרֵ֖אתָ but you shall fear wə·yā·rê·ṯā מֵאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ your God . mê·’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā Leviticus 25:44 וְעַבְדְּךָ֥ Your menservants wə·‘aḇ·də·ḵā וַאֲמָתְךָ֖ and maidservants wa·’ă·mā·ṯə·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יִהְיוּ־ shall come yih·yū- לָ֑ךְ lāḵ מֵאֵ֣ת from mê·’êṯ הַגּוֹיִ֗ם the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁר֙ - ’ă·šer סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם around you , sə·ḇî·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem מֵהֶ֥ם from [whom] mê·hem תִּקְנ֖וּ you may purchase tiq·nū עֶ֥בֶד [them] ‘e·ḇeḏ וְאָמָֽה׃ . . . . wə·’ā·māh Leviticus 25:45 וְ֠גַם You may also wə·ḡam תִּקְנ֔וּ purchase them tiq·nū מִבְּנֵ֨י from the mib·bə·nê הַתּוֹשָׁבִ֜ים foreigners hat·tō·wō·šā·ḇîm הַגָּרִ֤ים residing hag·gā·rîm עִמָּכֶם֙ among you ‘im·mā·ḵem מֵהֶ֣ם vvv mê·hem וּמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתָּם֙ or their clans ū·mim·miš·paḥ·tām עִמָּכֶ֔ם living among you ‘im·mā·ḵem אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הוֹלִ֖ידוּ are born hō·w·lî·ḏū בְּאַרְצְכֶ֑ם in your land . bə·’ar·ṣə·ḵem וְהָי֥וּ These may become wə·hā·yū לָכֶ֖ם your lā·ḵem לַֽאֲחֻזָּֽה׃ property . la·’ă·ḥuz·zāh Leviticus 25:46 וְהִתְנַחֲלְתֶּ֨ם You may leave wə·hiṯ·na·ḥăl·tɛm אֹתָ֜ם them ’ō·ṯām לִבְנֵיכֶ֤ם to your sons liḇ·nê·ḵem אַחֲרֵיכֶם֙ after ’a·ḥă·rê·ḵem לָרֶ֣שֶׁת you to inherit lā·re·šeṯ אֲחֻזָּ֔ה as property ; ’ă·ḥuz·zāh תַּעֲבֹ֑דוּ you can make them slaves ta·‘ă·ḇō·ḏū לְעֹלָ֖ם for life lə·‘ō·lām בָּהֶ֣ם . bā·hem וּבְאַ֨חֵיכֶ֤ם But as for your brothers , ū·ḇə·’a·ḥê·ḵem בְּנֵֽי־ the Israelites bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ . . . , yiś·rā·’êl לֹא־ no lō- אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš תִרְדֶּ֥ה may rule ṯir·deh בְּפָֽרֶךְ׃ס harshly bə·p̄ā·reḵ בְּאָחִ֔יו over his brother . bə·’ā·ḥîw ב֖וֹ ḇōw Leviticus 25:47 וְכִ֣י If wə·ḵî גֵּ֤ר a foreigner gêr וְתוֹשָׁב֙ residing wə·ṯō·wō·šāḇ עִמָּ֔ךְ among you ‘im·māḵ תַשִּׂ֗יג prospers ṯaś·śîḡ יַ֣ד . . . , yaḏ אָחִ֖יךָ but your countryman ’ā·ḥî·ḵā עִמּ֑וֹ dwelling near him ‘im·mōw וּמָ֥ךְ becomes destitute ū·māḵ וְנִמְכַּ֗ר and sells himself wə·nim·kar לְגֵ֤ר to the foreigner lə·ḡêr תּוֹשָׁב֙ - tō·wō·šāḇ עִמָּ֔ךְ - ‘im·māḵ א֥וֹ or ’ōw לְעֵ֖קֶר to a member lə·‘ê·qer גֵּֽר׃ of [his] gêr מִשְׁפַּ֥חַת clan , miš·pa·ḥaṯ Leviticus 25:48 תִּהְיֶה־ he retains tih·yeh- לּ֑וֹ lōw גְּאֻלָּ֖ה the right of redemption gə·’ul·lāh אַחֲרֵ֣י after ’a·ḥă·rê נִמְכַּ֔ר he has sold himself . nim·kar אֶחָ֥ד One ’e·ḥāḏ מֵאֶחָ֖יו of his brothers mê·’e·ḥāw יִגְאָלֶֽנּוּ׃ may redeem him : yiḡ·’ā·len·nū
