יִטְהָ֑ר he is clean . yiṭ·hār וְהַנֹּגֵ֙עַ֙ Whoever touches wə·han·nō·ḡê·a‘ בְּכָל־ anything bə·ḵāl טְמֵא־ defiled ṭə·mê- נֶ֔פֶשׁ by a corpse ne·p̄eš א֣וֹ or ’ōw אִ֔ישׁ by a man ’îš אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- תֵּצֵ֥א has tê·ṣê מִמֶּ֖נּוּ mim·men·nū שִׁכְבַת־ an emission šiḵ·ḇaṯ- זָֽרַע׃ of semen , zā·ra‘ Leviticus 22:5 אוֹ־ or ’ōw- אִישׁ֙ whoever ’îš אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יִגַּ֔ע touches yig·ga‘ בְּכָל־ a bə·ḵāl שֶׁ֖רֶץ crawling creature še·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יִטְמָא־ - yiṭ·mā- ל֑וֹ lōw א֤וֹ or ’ōw בְאָדָם֙ a person ḇə·’ā·ḏām אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer יִטְמָא־ makes him unclean yiṭ·mā- ל֔וֹ , lōw לְכֹ֖ל whatever lə·ḵōl טֻמְאָתֽוֹ׃ the uncleanness may be — ṭum·’ā·ṯōw Leviticus 22:6 נֶ֚פֶשׁ the man ne·p̄eš אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer תִּגַּע־ touches tig·ga‘- בּ֔וֹ any of these bōw וְטָמְאָ֖ה will remain unclean wə·ṭā·mə·’āh עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הָעָ֑רֶב evening . hā·‘ā·reḇ וְלֹ֤א He must not wə·lō יֹאכַל֙ eat yō·ḵal מִן־ from min- הַקֳּדָשִׁ֔ים the sacred offerings haq·qo·ḏā·šîm כִּ֛י unless kî אִם־ . . . ’im- רָחַ֥ץ he has bathed rā·ḥaṣ בְּשָׂר֖וֹ himself bə·śā·rōw בַּמָּֽיִם׃ with water . bam·mā·yim Leviticus 22:7 הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ When the sun haš·še·meš וּבָ֥א has set , ū·ḇā וְטָהֵ֑ר he will become clean , wə·ṭā·hêr וְאַחַר֙ and then wə·’a·ḥar יֹאכַ֣ל he may eat yō·ḵal מִן־ from min- הַקֳּדָשִׁ֔ים the sacred offerings , haq·qo·ḏā·šîm כִּ֥י for kî הֽוּא׃ they hū לַחְמ֖וֹ are his food . laḥ·mōw Leviticus 22:8 לֹ֥א He must not lō יֹאכַ֖ל eat yō·ḵal נְבֵלָ֧ה anything found dead nə·ḇê·lāh וּטְרֵפָ֛ה or torn by wild animals , ū·ṭə·rê·p̄āh לְטָמְאָה־ which would make him unclean lə·ṭā·mə·’āh- בָ֑הּ . ḇāh אֲנִ֖י I ’ă·nî יְהוָֽה׃ am YHWH . Yah·weh Leviticus 22:9 וְשָׁמְר֣וּ [The priests] must keep wə·šā·mə·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֗י My charge , miš·mar·tî וְלֹֽא־ lest wə·lō- יִשְׂא֤וּ they bear yiś·’ū עָלָיו֙ - ‘ā·lāw חֵ֔טְא the guilt ḥêṭ וּמֵ֥תוּ and die ū·mê·ṯū ב֖וֹ ḇōw כִּ֣י because kî יְחַלְּלֻ֑הוּ they profane it . yə·ḥal·lə·lu·hū אֲנִ֥י I ’ă·nî יְהוָ֖ה am YHWH Yah·weh מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃ who sanctifies them . mə·qad·də·šām Leviticus 22:10 לֹא־ No lō- וְכָל־ one wə·ḵāl זָ֖ר outside [a priest’s family] zār יֹ֣אכַל may eat yō·ḵal קֹ֑דֶשׁ the sacred offering , qō·ḏeš לֹא־ nor lō-
