וְלֹֽא־ Do not wə·lō- תְשַׁקְּצ֨וּ become contaminated ṯə·šaq·qə·ṣū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶ֜ם - nap̄·šō·ṯê·ḵem בַּבְּהֵמָ֣ה by any animal bab·bə·hê·māh וּבָע֗וֹף or bird , ū·ḇā·‘ō·wp̄ וּבְכֹל֙ or by anything ū·ḇə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer תִּרְמֹ֣שׂ crawls tir·mōś הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה on the ground ; hā·’ă·ḏā·māh אֲשֶׁר־ I have set these ’ă·šer- הִבְדַּ֥לְתִּי apart hiḇ·dal·tî לְטַמֵּֽא׃ as unclean lə·ṭam·mê לָכֶ֖ם for you . lā·ḵem Leviticus 20:26 וִהְיִ֤יתֶם You are to be wih·yî·ṯem קְדֹשִׁ֔ים holy qə·ḏō·šîm לִי֙ to Me lî כִּ֥י because kî אֲנִ֣י I , ’ă·nî יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh קָד֖וֹשׁ am holy , qā·ḏō·wōš וָאַבְדִּ֥ל and I have set you apart wā·’aḇ·dil אֶתְכֶ֛ם - ’eṯ·ḵem מִן־ from min- הָֽעַמִּ֖ים the nations hā·‘am·mîm לִהְי֥וֹת to be lih·yō·wṯ לִֽי׃ My own . lî Leviticus 20:27 וְאִ֣ישׁ A man wə·’îš אֽוֹ־ or ’ōw- אִשָּׁ֗ה a woman ’iš·šāh כִּֽי־ . . . kî- יִהְיֶ֨ה who is yih·yeh בָהֶ֥ם ḇā·hem א֛וֹב a medium ’ō·wḇ א֥וֹ or ’ōw יִדְּעֹנִ֖י spiritist yid·də·‘ō·nî מ֣וֹת must surely mō·wṯ יוּמָ֑תוּ be put to death . yū·mā·ṯū בָּאֶ֛בֶן vvv bā·’e·ḇen יִרְגְּמ֥וּ They shall be stoned ; yir·gə·mū אֹתָ֖ם - ’ō·ṯām דְּמֵיהֶ֥ם their blood də·mê·hem בָּֽם׃פ [is] upon them . ’” bām Leviticus 21:1 יְהוָה֙ Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses , mō·šeh אֱמֹ֥ר “ Speak ’ĕ·mōr אֶל־ to ’el- אַהֲרֹ֑ן Aaron’s ’a·hă·rōn בְּנֵ֣י sons , bə·nê הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים the priests , hak·kō·hă·nîm וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ and tell wə·’ā·mar·tā אֲלֵהֶ֔ם them [that] ’ă·lê·hem לֹֽא־ [a priest] is not lō- יִטַּמָּ֖א to defile himself yiṭ·ṭam·mā לְנֶ֥פֶשׁ for a dead person lə·ne·p̄eš בְּעַמָּֽיו׃ among his people , bə·‘am·māw Leviticus 21:2 כִּ֚י except kî אִם־ . . . ’im- הַקָּרֹ֖ב for his immediate haq·qā·rōḇ אֵלָ֑יו . . . ’ê·lāw לִשְׁאֵר֔וֹ family — liš·’ê·rōw לְאִמּ֣וֹ his mother , lə·’im·mōw וּלְאָבִ֔יו father , ū·lə·’ā·ḇîw וְלִבְנ֥וֹ son , wə·liḇ·nōw וּלְבִתּ֖וֹ daughter , ū·lə·ḇit·tōw וּלְאָחִֽיו׃ or brother , ū·lə·’ā·ḥîw Leviticus 21:3 הַבְּתוּלָה֙ or his unmarried hab·bə·ṯū·lāh וְלַאֲחֹת֤וֹ sister wə·la·’ă·ḥō·ṯōw הַקְּרוֹבָ֣ה who is near haq·qə·rō·w·ḇāh אֵלָ֔יו to him , ’ê·lāw אֲשֶׁ֥ר since ’ă·šer הָיְתָ֖ה she has hā·yə·ṯāh לֹֽא־ no lō- לְאִ֑ישׁ husband lə·’îš לָ֖הּ - lāh יִטַּמָּֽא׃ - . yiṭ·ṭam·mā Leviticus 21:4 לֹ֥א He is not lō יִטַּמָּ֖א to defile himself yiṭ·ṭam·mā בַּ֣עַל for those related to him by marriage ba·‘al בְּעַמָּ֑יו . . . , bə·‘am·māw
