מֵעַ֥ל company mê·‘al אִ֖ישׁ . . . ’îš אָחִֽיו׃ . . . . ’ā·ḥîw Genesis 13:12 אַבְרָ֖ם Abram ’aḇ·rām יָשַׁ֣ב lived yā·šaḇ בְּאֶֽרֶץ־ in the land bə·’e·reṣ- כְּנָ֑עַן of Canaan , kə·nā·‘an וְל֗וֹט but Lot wə·lō·wṭ יָשַׁב֙ settled yā·šaḇ בְּעָרֵ֣י in the cities bə·‘ā·rê הַכִּכָּ֔ר of the plain hak·kik·kār וַיֶּאֱהַ֖ל and pitched [his] tent way·ye·’ĕ·hal עַד־ toward ‘aḏ- סְדֹֽם׃ Sodom . sə·ḏōm Genesis 13:13 וְאַנְשֵׁ֣י But the men wə·’an·šê סְדֹ֔ם of Sodom sə·ḏōm רָעִ֖ים were wicked , rā·‘îm וְחַטָּאִ֑ים sinning wə·ḥaṭ·ṭā·’îm מְאֹֽד׃ greatly mə·’ōḏ לַיהוָ֖ה against YHWH . Yah·weh Genesis 13:14 אַחֲרֵי֙ After ’a·ḥă·rê ל֣וֹט Lot lō·wṭ הִפָּֽרֶד־ had departed hip·pā·reḏ- מֵֽעִמּ֔וֹ . . . , mê·‘im·mōw וַֽיהוָ֞ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר said ’ā·mar אֶל־ to ’el- אַבְרָ֗ם Abram , ’aḇ·rām נָ֤א “ Now nā שָׂ֣א lift up śā עֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ your eyes ‘ê·ne·ḵā מִן־ from min- הַמָּק֖וֹם the place ham·mā·qō·wm אֲשֶׁר־ where ’ă·šer- אַתָּ֣ה you ’at·tāh שָׁ֑ם are , šām וּרְאֵ֔ה and look ū·rə·’êh צָפֹ֥נָה to the north ṣā·p̄ō·nāh וָנֶ֖גְבָּה and south wā·neḡ·bāh וָקֵ֥דְמָה and east wā·qê·ḏə·māh וָיָֽמָּה׃ and west , wā·yām·māh Genesis 13:15 כִּ֧י for kî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- הָאָ֛רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- אַתָּ֥ה you ’at·tāh רֹאֶ֖ה see , rō·’eh אֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה I will give ’et·tə·nen·nāh לְךָ֣ to you lə·ḵā וּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֖ and your offspring ū·lə·zar·‘ă·ḵā עַד־ forever ‘aḏ- עוֹלָֽם׃ . . . . ‘ō·w·lām Genesis 13:16 וְשַׂמְתִּ֥י I will make wə·śam·tî אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- זַרְעֲךָ֖ your offspring zar·‘ă·ḵā כַּעֲפַ֣ר like the dust ka·‘ă·p̄ar הָאָ֑רֶץ of the earth , hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ so that ’ă·šer אִם־ if ’im- אִ֗ישׁ one ’îš יוּכַ֣ל could yū·ḵal לִמְנוֹת֙ count lim·nō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֲפַ֣ר the dust ‘ă·p̄ar הָאָ֔רֶץ of the earth , hā·’ā·reṣ גַּֽם־ then gam- זַרְעֲךָ֖ your offspring zar·‘ă·ḵā יִמָּנֶֽה׃ could be counted . yim·mā·neh Genesis 13:17 ק֚וּם Get up qūm הִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ and walk hiṯ·hal·lêḵ בָּאָ֔רֶץ around the land , bā·’ā·reṣ לְאָרְכָּ֖הּ through its length lə·’ā·rə·kāh וּלְרָחְבָּ֑הּ and breadth , ū·lə·rā·ḥə·bāh כִּ֥י for kî אֶתְּנֶֽנָּה׃ I will give it ’et·tə·nen·nāh לְךָ֖ to you . ” lə·ḵā Genesis 13:18 אַבְרָ֗ם So Abram ’aḇ·rām וַיֶּאֱהַ֣ל moved his tent way·ye·’ĕ·hal
