אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֹּ֑את this haz·zōṯ הָאָ֣רֶץ land hā·’ā·reṣ לְזַ֨רְעֲךָ֔ to your offspring . ” lə·zar·‘ă·ḵā וַיִּ֤בֶן So [Abram] built way·yi·ḇen מִזְבֵּ֔חַ an altar miz·bê·aḥ שָׁם֙ there šām לַיהוָ֖ה to YHWH , Yah·weh הַנִּרְאֶ֥ה who had appeared han·nir·’eh אֵלָֽיו׃ to him . ’ê·lāw Genesis 12:8 מִשָּׁ֜ם From there miš·šām וַיַּעְתֵּ֨ק [Abram] moved on way·ya‘·têq הָהָ֗רָה to the hill country hā·hā·rāh מִקֶּ֛דֶם east miq·qe·ḏem לְבֵֽית־ of lə·ḇêṯ- אֵ֖ל Bethel ’êl וַיֵּ֣ט and pitched way·yêṭ אָהֳלֹ֑ה his tent , ʾå̄·ho·lōh בֵּֽית־ with Bethel bêṯ- אֵ֤ל . . . ’êl מִיָּם֙ to the west mî·yām וְהָעַ֣י and Ai wə·hā·‘ay מִקֶּ֔דֶם to the east . miq·qe·ḏem שָׁ֤ם There šām וַיִּֽבֶן־ he built way·yi·ḇen- מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ an altar miz·bê·aḥ לַֽיהוָ֔ה to YHWH , Yah·weh וַיִּקְרָ֖א and he called way·yiq·rā בְּשֵׁ֥ם on the name bə·šêm יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh Genesis 12:9 אַבְרָ֔ם And Abram ’aḇ·rām וַיִּסַּ֣ע journeyed on way·yis·sa‘ הָל֥וֹךְ . . . hā·lō·wḵ וְנָס֖וֹעַ toward wə·nā·sō·w·a‘ הַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃פ the Negev . han·neḡ·bāh Genesis 12:10 וַיְהִ֥י Now there was way·hî רָעָ֖ב a famine rā·‘āḇ בָּאָ֑רֶץ in the land . bā·’ā·reṣ אַבְרָ֤ם So Abram ’aḇ·rām וַיֵּ֨רֶד went down way·yê·reḏ מִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙ to Egypt miṣ·ray·māh שָׁ֔ם to live there šām לָג֣וּר for a while lā·ḡūr כִּֽי־ because kî- הָרָעָ֖ב the famine hā·rā·‘āḇ בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ - bā·’ā·reṣ כָבֵ֥ד was severe . ḵā·ḇêḏ Genesis 12:11 וַיְהִ֕י - way·hî כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר As ka·’ă·šer הִקְרִ֖יב he was about hiq·rîḇ לָב֣וֹא to enter lā·ḇō·w מִצְרָ֑יְמָה Egypt , miṣ·rā·yə·māh וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ he said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ his wife ’iš·tōw שָׂרַ֣י Sarai , śā·ray הִנֵּה־ “ Look , hin·nêh- נָ֣א . . . nā יָדַ֔עְתִּי I know yā·ḏa‘·tî כִּ֛י that kî אָֽתְּ׃ you ’āt יְפַת־ [are] a beautiful yə·p̄aṯ- מַרְאֶ֖ה . . . mar·’eh אִשָּׁ֥ה woman , ’iš·šāh Genesis 12:12 וְהָיָ֗ה and wə·hā·yāh כִּֽי־ when kî- הַמִּצְרִ֔ים the Egyptians ham·miṣ·rîm יִרְא֤וּ see you , yir·’ū אֹתָךְ֙ - ’ō·ṯāḵ וְאָמְר֖וּ they will say , wə·’ā·mə·rū זֹ֑את ‘ This zōṯ אִשְׁתּ֣וֹ is his wife . ’ ’iš·tōw וְהָרְג֥וּ Then they will kill wə·hā·rə·ḡū אֹתִ֖י me ’ō·ṯî וְאֹתָ֥ךְ but wə·’ō·ṯāḵ יְחַיּֽוּ׃ will let you live . yə·ḥay·yū Genesis 12:13 נָ֖א Please nā אִמְרִי־ say ’im·rî- אָ֑תְּ you are ’āt אֲחֹ֣תִי my sister , ’ă·ḥō·ṯî לְמַ֙עַן֙ so that lə·ma·‘an יִֽיטַב־ I will be treated well yî·ṭaḇ-
