לָֽךְ׃ . ” lāḵ Exodus 33:15 אִם־ “ If ’im- פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ Your Presence pā·ne·ḵā אֵ֤ין does not ’ên הֹלְכִ֔ים go [with us] , ” hō·lə·ḵîm וַיֹּ֖אמֶר Moses replied way·yō·mer אֵלָ֑יו , ’ê·lāw אַֽל־ “ do not ’al- תַּעֲלֵ֖נוּ lead us up ta·‘ă·lê·nū מִזֶּֽה׃ from here . miz·zeh Exodus 33:16 וּבַמֶּ֣ה׀ For how then ū·ḇam·meh יִוָּדַ֣ע can it be known yiw·wā·ḏa‘ אֵפ֗וֹא . . . ’ê·p̄ō·w כִּֽי־ that kî- וְעַמֶּ֔ךָ Your people wə·‘am·me·ḵā אֲנִ֣י and I ’ă·nî מָצָ֨אתִי have found mā·ṣā·ṯî חֵ֤ן favor ḥên בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ in Your sight , bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā הֲל֖וֹא unless hă·lō·w בְּלֶכְתְּךָ֣ You go bə·leḵ·tə·ḵā עִמָּ֑נוּ with us ? ‘im·mā·nū אֲנִ֣י [How else will] we ’ă·nî וְעַמְּךָ֔ . . . wə·‘am·mə·ḵā וְנִפְלֵ֙ינוּ֙ be distinguished wə·nip̄·lē·nū מִכָּ֨ל־ from all mik·kāl הָעָ֔ם the other people hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer עַל־ on ‘al- פְּנֵ֥י the face pə·nê הָאֲדָמָֽה׃פ of the earth ? ” hā·’ă·ḏā·māh Exodus 33:17 יְהוָה֙ So YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses , mō·šeh אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֑ה “ I will do ’e·‘ĕ·śeh הַזֶּ֛ה this haz·zeh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer גַּ֣ם very gam אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַדָּבָ֥ר thing had·dā·ḇār דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ you have asked , dib·bar·tā כִּֽי־ for kî- מָצָ֤אתָ you have found mā·ṣā·ṯā חֵן֙ favor ḥên בְּעֵינַ֔י in My sight , bə·‘ê·nay וָאֵדָעֲךָ֖ and I know wā·’ê·ḏā·‘ă·ḵā בְּשֵֽׁם׃ you by name . ” bə·šêm Exodus 33:18 וַיֹּאמַ֑ר Then Moses said , way·yō·mar נָ֖א “ Please nā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַרְאֵ֥נִי show me har·’ê·nî כְּבֹדֶֽךָ׃ Your glory . ” kə·ḇō·ḏe·ḵā Exodus 33:19 אֲנִ֨י “ I ’ă·nî כָּל־ will cause all kāl- טוּבִי֙ My goodness ṭū·ḇî אַעֲבִ֤יר to pass ’a·‘ă·ḇîr עַל־ before ‘al- פָּנֶ֔יךָ you , ” pā·ne·ḵā וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [YHWH] replied , way·yō·mer וְקָרָ֧אתִֽי “ and I will proclaim wə·qā·rā·ṯî בְשֵׁ֛ם [My] name — ḇə·šêm יְהוָ֖ה YHWH — Yah·weh לְפָנֶ֑יךָ in your presence . lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā וְחַנֹּתִי֙ I will have mercy wə·ḥan·nō·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲשֶׁ֣ר on whom ’ă·šer אָחֹ֔ן I have mercy , ’ā·ḥōn וְרִחַמְתִּ֖י and I will have compassion wə·ri·ḥam·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲשֶׁ֥ר on whom ’ă·šer אֲרַחֵֽם׃ I have compassion . ” ’ă·ra·ḥêm Exodus 33:20 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר But He added , way·yō·mer לֹ֥א “ You cannot lō תוּכַ֖ל . . . ṯū·ḵal לִרְאֹ֣ת see lir·’ōṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פָּנָ֑י My face , pā·nāy כִּ֛י for kî לֹֽא־ no lō- הָאָדָ֖ם one hā·’ā·ḏām יִרְאַ֥נִי can see [Me] yir·’a·nî
