וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer הַיּוֹם֙ “ Today hay·yō·wm מִלְא֨וּ you have been ordained mil·’ū יֶדְכֶ֤ם for service yeḏ·ḵem לַֽיהוָ֔ה to YHWH , Yah·weh כִּ֛י since kî אִ֥ישׁ each man ’îš בִּבְנ֖וֹ went against his son biḇ·nōw וּבְאָחִ֑יו and his brother ; ū·ḇə·’ā·ḥîw וְלָתֵ֧ת so [YHWH] has bestowed wə·lā·ṯêṯ בְּרָכָֽה׃ a blessing bə·rā·ḵāh עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם on you ‘ă·lê·ḵem הַיּ֖וֹם this day . ” hay·yō·wm Exodus 32:30 וַיְהִי֙ - way·hî מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת The next day mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ מֹשֶׁה֙ Moses mō·šeh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הָעָ֔ם the people , hā·‘ām אַתֶּ֥ם “ You ’at·tem חֲטָאתֶ֖ם have committed ḥă·ṭā·ṯem גְדֹלָ֑ה a great ḡə·ḏō·lāh חֲטָאָ֣ה sin . ḥă·ṭā·’āh וְעַתָּה֙ Now wə·‘at·tāh אֶֽעֱלֶ֣ה I will go up ’e·‘ĕ·leh אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH ; Yah·weh אוּלַ֥י perhaps ’ū·lay אֲכַפְּרָ֖ה I can make atonement ’ă·ḵap·pə·rāh בְּעַ֥ד for bə·‘aḏ חַטַּאתְכֶֽם׃ your sin . ” ḥaṭ·ṭaṯ·ḵem Exodus 32:31 מֹשֶׁ֛ה So Moses mō·šeh וַיָּ֧שָׁב returned way·yā·šāḇ אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּאמַ֑ר and said , way·yō·mar אָ֣נָּ֗א “ Oh , ’ān·nā גְדֹלָ֔ה what a great ḡə·ḏō·lāh חֲטָאָ֣ה sin ḥă·ṭā·’āh הַזֶּה֙ these haz·zeh הָעָ֤ם people hā·‘ām חָטָ֞א have committed ! ḥā·ṭā וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֥וּ They have made way·ya·‘ă·śū אֱלֹהֵ֥י gods ’ĕ·lō·hê זָהָֽב׃ of gold zā·hāḇ לָהֶ֖ם for themselves . lā·hem Exodus 32:32 וְעַתָּ֖ה Yet now , wə·‘at·tāh אִם־ if ’im- תִּשָּׂ֣א You would only forgive tiś·śā חַטָּאתָ֑ם their sin ... . ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯām וְאִם־ But if wə·’im- אַ֕יִן not , ’a·yin נָ֔א please nā מְחֵ֣נִי blot me mə·ḥê·nî מִֽסִּפְרְךָ֖ out of the book mis·sip̄·rə·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer כָּתָֽבְתָּ׃ You have written . ” kā·ṯā·ḇə·tā Exodus 32:33 יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֥אמֶר replied way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses , mō·šeh מִ֚י “ Whoever mî אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer חָֽטָא־ has sinned ḥā·ṭā- לִ֔י against Me , lî אֶמְחֶ֖נּוּ I will blot out ’em·ḥen·nū מִסִּפְרִֽי׃ of My book . mis·sip̄·rî Exodus 32:34 וְעַתָּ֞ה Now wə·‘at·tāh לֵ֣ךְ׀ go , lêḵ נְחֵ֣ה lead nə·ḥêh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֗ם the people hā·‘ām אֶ֤ל to [the place] ’el אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- דִּבַּ֙רְתִּי֙ I described dib·bar·tî לָ֔ךְ - . lāḵ הִנֵּ֥ה Behold , hin·nêh מַלְאָכִ֖י My angel mal·’ā·ḵî יֵלֵ֣ךְ shall go yê·lêḵ לְפָנֶ֑יךָ before you . lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā וּבְי֣וֹם But on the day ū·ḇə·yō·wm פָּקְדִ֔י I settle accounts , pā·qə·ḏî וּפָקַדְתִּ֥י I will punish them ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם . . . ‘ă·lê·hem חַטָּאתָֽם׃ for their sin . ” ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯām
