ק֣וֹל the sound qō·wl עַנּ֔וֹת of singing ! ” ‘an·nō·wṯ Exodus 32:19 וַֽיְהִ֗י - way·hî כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר As ka·’ă·šer קָרַב֙ [Moses] approached qā·raḇ אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה the camp ham·ma·ḥă·neh וַיַּ֥רְא and saw way·yar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעֵ֖גֶל the calf hā·‘ê·ḡel וּמְחֹלֹ֑ת and the dancing , ū·mə·ḥō·lōṯ מֹשֶׁ֗ה he mō·šeh וַיִּֽחַר־ burned way·yi·ḥar- אַ֣ף with anger ’ap̄ וַיַּשְׁלֵ֤ךְ and threw way·yaš·lêḵ הַלֻּחֹ֔ת the tablets hal·lu·ḥōṯ מִיָּדוֹ out of his hands , mī·yå̄·ḏō אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְשַׁבֵּ֥ר shattering way·šab·bêr אֹתָ֖ם them ’ō·ṯām תַּ֥חַת at the base of ta·ḥaṯ הָהָֽר׃ the mountain . hā·hār Exodus 32:20 וַיִּקַּ֞ח Then he took way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעֵ֨גֶל the calf hā·‘ê·ḡel אֲשֶׁ֤ר ’ă·šer עָשׂוּ֙ they had made , ‘ā·śū וַיִּשְׂרֹ֣ף burned it way·yiś·rōp̄ בָּאֵ֔שׁ in the fire , bā·’êš וַיִּטְחַ֖ן ground [it] way·yiṭ·ḥan עַ֣ד to ‘aḏ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- דָּ֑ק powder , dāq וַיִּ֙זֶר֙ and scattered [the powder] way·yi·zer עַל־ over ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י the face pə·nê הַמַּ֔יִם of the water . ham·ma·yim בְּנֵ֥י Then he forced bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ the Israelites yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּ֖שְׁקְ to drink way·yašq אֶת־ it . ’eṯ- Exodus 32:21 מֶֽה־ “ What meh- הַזֶּ֑ה did this haz·zeh הָעָ֣ם people hā·‘ām עָשָׂ֥ה do ‘ā·śāh לְךָ֖ to you , ” lə·ḵā מֹשֶׁה֙ Moses mō·šeh אֶֽל־ . . . ’el- וַיֹּ֤אמֶר asked way·yō·mer אַהֲרֹ֔ן Aaron , ’a·hă·rōn כִּֽי־ “ that kî- הֵבֵ֥אתָ you have led them hê·ḇê·ṯā עָלָ֖יו into ‘ā·lāw גְדֹלָֽה׃ so great ḡə·ḏō·lāh חֲטָאָ֥ה a sin ? ” ḥă·ṭā·’āh Exodus 32:22 אַל־ “ Do not ’al- יִ֥חַר be enraged yi·ḥar אַ֖ף . . . , ’ap̄ אֲדֹנִ֑י my lord , ” ’ă·ḏō·nî אַהֲרֹ֔ן Aaron ’a·hă·rōn וַיֹּ֣אמֶר replied . way·yō·mer אַתָּה֙ “ You ’at·tāh יָדַ֣עְתָּ yourself know yā·ḏa‘·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֔ם that the people hā·‘ām כִּ֥י . . . kî בְרָ֖ע are intent on evil ḇə·rā‘ הֽוּא׃ . . . . hū Exodus 32:23 וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ They told way·yō·mə·rū לִ֔י me , lî עֲשֵׂה־ ‘ Make ‘ă·śêh- לָ֣נוּ us lā·nū אֱלֹהִ֔ים gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer יֵלְכ֖וּ will go yê·lə·ḵū לְפָנֵ֑ינוּ before us . lə·p̄ā·nê·nū כִּי־ As for kî- זֶ֣ה׀ this zeh מֹשֶׁ֣ה Moses mō·šeh הָאִ֗ישׁ - hā·’îš אֲשֶׁ֤ר who ’ă·šer הֶֽעֱלָ֙נוּ֙ brought us up he·‘ĕ·lā·nū מֵאֶ֣רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt , miṣ·ra·yim לֹ֥א we do not lō
