Exodus 32:8 מַהֵ֗ר How quickly they have ma·hêr סָ֣רוּ turned aside sā·rū מִן־ from min- הַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ the way had·de·reḵ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer צִוִּיתִ֔ם I commanded them ! ṣiw·wî·ṯim עָשׂ֣וּ They have made ‘ā·śū לָהֶ֔ם for themselves lā·hem מַסֵּכָ֑ה a molten mas·sê·ḵāh עֵ֖גֶל calf ‘ê·ḡel וַיִּשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־ and have bowed down way·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū- לוֹ֙ to it . lōw וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־ They have sacrificed way·yiz·bə·ḥū- ל֔וֹ to it lōw וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and said , way·yō·mə·rū אֵ֤לֶּה ‘ These , ’êl·leh יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל O Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ are your gods , ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer הֶֽעֱל֖וּךָ brought you up he·‘ĕ·lū·ḵā מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt . ’” miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 32:9 יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֥אמֶר also said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses , mō·šeh רָאִ֙יתִי֙ “ I have seen rā·’î·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הָעָ֣ם people , hā·‘ām הֽוּא׃ and they hū וְהִנֵּ֥ה are indeed wə·hin·nêh קְשֵׁה־ a stiff-necked qə·šêh- עֹ֖רֶף . . . ‘ō·rep̄ עַם־ people . ‘am- Exodus 32:10 וְעַתָּה֙ Now wə·‘at·tāh לִּ֔י leave Me lî הַנִּ֣יחָה alone , han·nî·ḥāh אַפִּ֥י so that My anger ’ap·pî וְיִֽחַר־ may burn wə·yi·ḥar- בָהֶ֖ם against them ḇā·hem וַאֲכַלֵּ֑ם and consume them . wa·’ă·ḵal·lêm וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה Then I will make wə·’e·‘ĕ·śeh אוֹתְךָ֖ you ’ō·wṯ·ḵā גָּדֽוֹל׃ into a great gā·ḏō·wl לְג֥וֹי nation . ” lə·ḡō·w Exodus 32:11 מֹשֶׁ֔ה But Moses mō·šeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְחַ֣ל sought the favor way·ḥal פְּנֵ֖י . . . pə·nê יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָ֑יו his God , ’ĕ·lō·hāw וַיֹּ֗אמֶר saying , way·yō·mer יְהוָה֙ “ O YHWH , Yah·weh לָמָ֤ה why lā·māh אַפְּךָ֙ does Your anger ’ap·pə·ḵā יֶחֱרֶ֤ה burn ye·ḥĕ·reh בְּעַמֶּ֔ךָ against Your people , bə·‘am·me·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֤ר whom ’ă·šer הוֹצֵ֙אתָ֙ You brought hō·w·ṣê·ṯā מֵאֶ֣רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim גָּד֖וֹל with great gā·ḏō·wl בְּכֹ֥חַ power bə·ḵō·aḥ חֲזָקָֽה׃ and a mighty ḥă·zā·qāh וּבְיָ֥ד hand ? ū·ḇə·yāḏ Exodus 32:12 לָמָּה֩ Why lām·māh יֹאמְר֨וּ should the Egyptians declare , yō·mə·rū מִצְרַ֜יִם . . . miṣ·ra·yim לֵאמֹ֗ר . . . lê·mōr הֽוֹצִיאָם֙ ‘ He brought them out hō·w·ṣî·’ām בְּרָעָ֤ה with evil intent , bə·rā·‘āh לַהֲרֹ֤ג to kill la·hă·rōḡ אֹתָם֙ them ’ō·ṯām בֶּֽהָרִ֔ים in the mountains be·hā·rîm וּ֨לְכַלֹּתָ֔ם and wipe them ū·lə·ḵal·lō·ṯām מֵעַ֖ל from mê·‘al פְּנֵ֣י the face pə·nê הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה of the earth ’? hā·’ă·ḏā·māh שׁ֚וּב Turn ūḇ מֵחֲר֣וֹן from Your fierce mê·ḥă·rō·wn אַפֶּ֔ךָ anger ’ap·pe·ḵā וְהִנָּחֵ֥ם and relent wə·hin·nā·ḥêm עַל־ from {doing} ‘al- הָרָעָ֖ה harm hā·rā·‘āh לְעַמֶּֽךָ׃ to Your people . lə·‘am·me·ḵā
