מֶה־ what meh- הָ֥יָה has happened hā·yāh לֽוֹ׃ to him ! ” lōw Exodus 32:2 אַהֲרֹ֔ן So Aaron ’a·hă·rōn וַיֹּ֤אמֶר told way·yō·mer אֲלֵהֶם֙ them , ’ă·lê·hem פָּֽרְקוּ֙ “ Take off pā·rə·qū הַזָּהָ֔ב the gold haz·zā·hāḇ נִזְמֵ֣י earrings niz·mê אֲשֶׁר֙ that ’ă·šer בְּאָזְנֵ֣י are on bə·’ā·zə·nê נְשֵׁיכֶ֔ם your wives nə·šê·ḵem בְּנֵיכֶ֖ם and sons bə·nê·ḵem וּבְנֹתֵיכֶ֑ם and daughters , ū·ḇə·nō·ṯê·ḵem וְהָבִ֖יאוּ and bring them wə·hā·ḇî·’ū אֵלָֽי׃ to me . ” ’ê·lāy Exodus 32:3 כָּל־ Then all kāl- הָעָ֔ם the people hā·‘ām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּתְפָּֽרְקוּ֙ took off way·yiṯ·pā·rə·qū הַזָּהָ֖ב their gold haz·zā·hāḇ נִזְמֵ֥י earrings niz·mê אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בְּאָזְנֵיהֶ֑ם - bə·’ā·zə·nê·hem וַיָּבִ֖יאוּ and brought them way·yā·ḇî·’ū אֶֽל־ to ’el- אַהֲרֹֽן׃ Aaron . ’a·hă·rōn Exodus 32:4 וַיִּקַּ֣ח He took [the gold] way·yiq·qaḥ מִיָּדָ֗ם from their hands , mî·yā·ḏām וַיָּ֤צַר and way·yā·ṣar בַּחֶ֔רֶט with an engraving tool ba·ḥe·reṭ וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֖הוּ he fashioned way·ya·‘ă·śê·hū אֹתוֹ֙ it ’ō·ṯōw מַסֵּכָ֑ה into a molten mas·sê·ḵāh עֵ֣גֶל calf . ‘ê·ḡel וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ And they said , way·yō·mə·rū אֵ֤לֶּה “ These , ’êl·leh יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל O Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ are your gods , ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer הֶעֱל֖וּךָ brought you up he·‘ĕ·lū·ḵā מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt ! ” miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 32:5 אַהֲרֹ֔ן When Aaron ’a·hă·rōn וַיַּ֣רְא saw this , way·yar וַיִּ֥בֶן he built way·yi·ḇen מִזְבֵּ֖חַ an altar miz·bê·aḥ לְפָנָ֑יו before [the calf] lə·p̄ā·nāw וַיִּקְרָ֤א and proclaimed : way·yiq·rā אַֽהֲרֹן֙ . . . ’a·hă·rōn וַיֹּאמַ֔ר . . . way·yō·mar מָחָֽר׃ “ Tomorrow mā·ḥār חַ֥ג [shall be] a feast ḥaḡ לַיהוָ֖ה to YHWH . ” Yah·weh Exodus 32:6 מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת So the next day mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ וַיַּשְׁכִּ֙ימוּ֙ they arose , way·yaš·kî·mū וַיַּעֲל֣וּ offered way·ya·‘ă·lū עֹלֹ֔ת burnt offerings , ‘ō·lōṯ וַיַּגִּ֖שׁוּ and presented way·yag·gi·šū שְׁלָמִ֑ים peace offerings . šə·lā·mîm הָעָם֙ And the people hā·‘ām וַיֵּ֤שֶׁב sat down way·yê·šeḇ לֶֽאֱכֹ֣ל to eat le·’ĕ·ḵōl וְשָׁת֔וֹ and drink , wə·šā·ṯōw וַיָּקֻ֖מוּ and got up way·yā·qu·mū לְצַחֵֽק׃פ to indulge in revelry . lə·ṣa·ḥêq Exodus 32:7 יְהוָ֖ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר said way·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses , mō·šeh לֶךְ־ “ Go down at once leḵ- רֵ֕ד . . . , rêḏ כִּ֚י for kî עַמְּךָ֔ your people , ‘am·mə·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֥ר whom ’ă·šer הֶעֱלֵ֖יתָ you brought up he·‘ĕ·lê·ṯā מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt , miṣ·rā·yim שִׁחֵ֣ת have corrupted themselves . ši·ḥêṯ
