פְּנוֹת֙ regards pə·nō·wṯ אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַמִּנְחָ֔ה your offerings ham·min·ḥāh וְלָקַ֥חַת or receives them wə·lā·qa·ḥaṯ רָצ֖וֹן gladly rā·ṣō·wn מִיֶּדְכֶֽם׃ from your hands . mî·yeḏ·ḵem Malachi 2:14 וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם Yet you ask , wa·’ă·mar·tem עַל־ “ Why ‘al- מָ֑ה . . . ? ” māh עַ֡ל It is because ‘al כִּי־ . . . kî- יְהוָה֩ YHWH Yah·weh הֵעִ֨יד has been a witness hê·‘îḏ בֵּינְךָ֜ between you bê·nə·ḵā וּבֵ֣ין׀ and ū·ḇên אֵ֣שֶׁת the wife ’ê·šeṯ נְעוּרֶ֗יךָ of your youth , nə·‘ū·re·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֤ר against whom ’ă·šer אַתָּה֙ you ’at·tāh בָּגַ֣דְתָּה have broken faith bā·ḡaḏ·tāh בָּ֔הּ , bāh וְהִ֥יא though she is wə·hî חֲבֶרְתְּךָ֖ your companion ḥă·ḇer·tə·ḵā וְאֵ֥שֶׁת and your wife wə·’ê·šeṯ בְּרִיתֶֽךָ׃ by covenant . bə·rî·ṯe·ḵā Malachi 2:15 וְלֹא־ Has not [YHWH] wə·lō- עָשָׂ֗ה made them ‘ā·śāh אֶחָ֣ד one , ’e·ḥāḏ וּשְׁאָ֥ר having a portion ū·šə·’ār ר֙וּחַ֙ of the Spirit rū·aḥ ל֔וֹ ? lōw וּמָה֙ And why ū·māh הָֽאֶחָ֔ד one ? hā·’e·ḥāḏ מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ Because He seeks mə·ḇaq·qêš אֱלֹהִ֑ים godly ’ĕ·lō·hîm זֶ֣רַע offspring . ze·ra‘ וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּם֙ So guard yourselves wə·niš·mar·tem בְּר֣וּחֲכֶ֔ם in your spirit bə·rū·ḥă·ḵem אַל־ and do not ’al- יִבְגֹּֽד׃ break faith yiḇ·gōḏ וּבְאֵ֥שֶׁת with the wife ū·ḇə·’ê·šeṯ נְעוּרֶ֖יךָ of your youth . nə·‘ū·re·ḵā Malachi 2:16 כִּֽי־ “ For kî- שָׂנֵ֣א I hate śā·nê שַׁלַּ֗ח divorce , ” šal·laḥ אָמַ֤ר says ’ā·mar יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl וְכִסָּ֤ה “ He [who divorces his wife] covers wə·ḵis·sāh לְבוּשׁ֔וֹ his garment lə·ḇū·šōw עַל־ with ‘al- חָמָס֙ violence , ” ḥā·mās אָמַ֖ר says ’ā·mar יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֑וֹת of Hosts . ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֥ם So guard yourselves wə·niš·mar·tem בְּרוּחֲכֶ֖ם in your spirit bə·rū·ḥă·ḵem וְלֹ֥א and do not wə·lō תִבְגֹּֽדוּ׃ס break faith . ṯiḇ·gō·ḏū Malachi 2:17 הוֹגַעְתֶּ֤ם You have wearied hō·w·ḡa‘·tem יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh בְּדִבְרֵיכֶ֔ם with your words ; bə·ḏiḇ·rê·ḵem וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם yet you ask , wa·’ă·mar·tem בַּמָּ֣ה “ How bam·māh הוֹגָ֑עְנוּ have we wearied Him ? ” hō·w·ḡā·‘ə·nū בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֗ם By saying , be·’ĕ·mā·rə·ḵem כָּל־ “ All kāl- עֹ֨שֵׂה who do ‘ō·śêh רָ֜ע evil rā‘ ט֣וֹב׀ [are] good ṭō·wḇ בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH , Yah·weh וּבָהֶם֙ and in them ū·ḇā·hem ה֣וּא He hū חָפֵ֔ץ delights , ” ḥā·p̄êṣ א֥וֹ or , ’ōw אַיֵּ֖ה “ Where ’ay·yêh אֱלֹהֵ֥י is the God ’ĕ·lō·hê הַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ of justice ? ” ham·miš·pāṭ Malachi 3:1 הִנְנִ֤י “ Behold , hin·nî שֹׁלֵחַ֙ I will send šō·lê·aḥ מַלְאָכִ֔י My messenger , mal·’ā·ḵî וּפִנָּה־ who will prepare ū·p̄in·nāh- דֶ֖רֶךְ the way ḏe·reḵ
