Haggai 2:12 הֵ֣ן׀ If hên אִ֨ישׁ a man ’îš יִשָּׂא־ carries yiś·śā- קֹ֜דֶשׁ consecrated qō·ḏeš בְּשַׂר־ meat bə·śar- בִּכְנַ֣ף in the fold biḵ·nap̄ בִּגְד֗וֹ of his garment , biḡ·ḏōw בִּ֠כְנָפוֹ and it biḵ·nā·p̄ōw אֶל־ . . . ’el- וְנָגַ֣ע touches wə·nā·ḡa‘ הַלֶּ֨חֶם bread , hal·le·ḥem וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- הַנָּזִ֜יד stew , han·nā·zîḏ וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- הַיַּ֧יִן wine , hay·ya·yin וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- שֶׁ֛מֶן oil , še·men וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- כָּל־ or any kāl- מַאֲכָ֖ל other food , ma·’ă·ḵāl הֲיִקְדָּ֑שׁ does [that item] become holy ? ’” hă·yiq·dāš לֹֽא׃ “ No , ” lō וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ . . . way·yō·mə·rū וַיַּעֲנ֧וּ replied way·ya·‘ă·nū הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים the priests . hak·kō·hă·nîm Haggai 2:13 חַגַּ֔י So Haggai ḥag·gay וַיֹּ֣אמֶר asked , way·yō·mer אִם־ “ If ’im- טְמֵא־ [one who is] defiled ṭə·mê- נֶ֛פֶשׁ by contact with a corpse ne·p̄eš יִגַּ֧ע touches yig·ga‘ בְּכָל־ any bə·ḵāl אֵ֖לֶּה of these , ’êl·leh הֲיִטְמָ֑א does it become defiled ? ” hă·yiṭ·mā יִטְמָֽא׃ “ Yes, it becomes defiled , ” yiṭ·mā הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ . . . way·yō·mə·rū וַיַּעֲנ֧וּ answered . way·ya·‘ă·nū Haggai 2:14 חַגַּ֜י Then Haggai ḥag·gay וַיֹּ֗אמֶר . . . way·yō·mer וַיַּ֨עַן replied , way·ya·‘an כֵּ֣ן “ So [it is] kên הַ֠זֶּה with this haz·zeh הָֽעָם־ people hā·‘ām- וְכֵן־ [and] wə·ḵên- הַזֶּ֤ה this haz·zeh הַגּ֨וֹי nation hag·gō·w לְפָנַי֙ before Me , lə·p̄ā·nay נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh וְכֵ֖ן and so [it is] wə·ḵên כָּל־ with every kāl- מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה work ma·‘ă·śêh יְדֵיהֶ֑ם of their hands ; yə·ḏê·hem וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר whatever wa·’ă·šer יַקְרִ֛יבוּ they offer yaq·rî·ḇū שָׁ֖ם there šām טָמֵ֥א is defiled ṭā·mê הֽוּא׃ . . . . hū Haggai 2:15 וְעַתָּה֙ Now wə·‘at·tāh שִֽׂימוּ־ vvv śî·mū- לְבַבְכֶ֔ם consider lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem נָ֣א carefully nā מִן־ from min- הַזֶּ֖ה this haz·zeh הַיּ֥וֹם day hay·yō·wm וָמָ֑עְלָה forward : wā·mā·‘ə·lāh מִטֶּ֧רֶם Before miṭ·ṭe·rem אֶ֛בֶן one stone ’e·ḇen שֽׂוּם־ was placed śūm- אֶל־ on ’el- אֶ֖בֶן another ’e·ḇen בְּהֵיכַ֥ל in the temple bə·hê·ḵal יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH , Yah·weh Haggai 2:16 מִֽהְיוֹתָ֥ם from that time , mih·yō·w·ṯām בָּא֙ [when] one came bā אֶל־ expecting ’el- עֲרֵמַ֣ת a heap ‘ă·rê·maṯ עֶשְׂרִ֔ים of twenty [ephahs of grain] , ‘eś·rîm וְהָיְתָ֖ה there were wə·hā·yə·ṯāh עֲשָׂרָ֑ה [but] ten . ‘ă·śā·rāh בָּ֣א When one came bā אֶל־ to ’el- הַיֶּ֗קֶב the winepress hay·ye·qeḇ לַחְשֹׂף֙ to draw out laḥ·śōp̄ חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים fifty [baths] ḥă·miš·šîm
