בִּרְכַּ֗יִם knees bir·ka·yim וּפִ֣ק knock , ū·p̄iq מָתְנַ֔יִם bodies mā·ṯə·na·yim וְחַלְחָלָה֙ tremble , wə·ḥal·ḥā·lāh בְּכָל־ and every bə·ḵāl וּפְנֵ֥י face ū·p̄ə·nê כֻלָּ֖ם . . . ḵul·lām קִבְּצ֥וּ grows pale qib·bə·ṣū פָארֽוּר׃ . . . ! p̄ā·rūr Nahum 2:11 אַיֵּה֙ Where ’ay·yêh אֲרָי֔וֹת is the lions’ ’ă·rā·yō·wṯ מְע֣וֹן lair mə·‘ō·wn וּמִרְעֶ֥ה or the feeding ground ū·mir·‘eh ה֖וּא . . . hū לַכְּפִרִ֑ים of the young lions , lak·kə·p̄i·rîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר where ’ă·šer אַרְיֵ֨ה the lion ’ar·yêh לָבִ֥יא and lioness lā·ḇî שָׁ֛ם . . . šām הָלַךְ֩ prowled hā·laḵ אַרְיֵ֖ה with [their] ’ar·yêh גּ֥וּר cubs , gūr וְאֵ֥ין with nothing wə·’ên מַחֲרִֽיד׃ to frighten them away ? ma·ḥă·rîḏ Nahum 2:12 אַרְיֵ֤ה The lion ’ar·yêh טֹרֵף֙ mauled ṭō·rêp̄ בְּדֵ֣י enough for bə·ḏê גֹֽרוֹתָ֔יו its cubs ḡō·rō·w·ṯāw וּמְחַנֵּ֖ק and strangled prey ū·mə·ḥan·nêq לְלִבְאֹתָ֑יו for the lioness . lə·liḇ·’ō·ṯāw וַיְמַלֵּא־ It filled way·mal·lê- חֹרָ֔יו its dens ḥō·rāw טֶ֣רֶף with the kill , ṭe·rep̄ וּמְעֹֽנֹתָ֖יו and its lairs ū·mə·‘ō·nō·ṯāw טְרֵפָֽה׃ with mauled prey . ṭə·rê·p̄āh Nahum 2:13 הִנְנִ֣י “ Behold , hin·nî אֵלַ֗יִךְ I am against you , ” ’ê·la·yiḵ נְאֻם֙ declares nə·’um יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts . ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ רִכְבָּ֔הּ “ I will send your chariots riḵ·bāh וְהִבְעַרְתִּ֤י up wə·hiḇ·‘ar·tî בֶֽעָשָׁן֙ in smoke , ḇe·‘ā·šān חָ֑רֶב and the sword ḥā·reḇ תֹּ֣אכַל will devour tō·ḵal וּכְפִירַ֖יִךְ your young lions . ū·ḵə·p̄î·ra·yiḵ וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י I will cut off wə·hiḵ·rat·tî טַרְפֵּ֔ךְ your prey ṭar·pêḵ מֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙ from the earth , mê·’e·reṣ ק֥וֹל and the voices qō·wl מַלְאָכֵֽכֵה׃ס of your messengers mal·’ā·ḵê·ḵêh וְלֹֽא־ will no longer wə·lō- יִשָּׁמַ֥ע be heard yiš·šā·ma‘ ע֖וֹד - . ” ‘ō·wḏ Nahum 3:1 ה֖וֹי Woe hō·w עִ֣יר to the city ‘îr דָּמִ֑ים of blood , dā·mîm כֻּלָּ֗הּ full kul·lāh כַּ֤חַשׁ of lies , ka·ḥaš מְלֵאָ֔ה full of mə·lê·’āh פֶּ֙רֶק֙ plunder , pe·req לֹ֥א never lō יָמִ֖ישׁ without yā·mîš טָֽרֶף׃ prey . ṭā·rep̄ Nahum 3:2 ק֣וֹל The crack qō·wl שׁ֔וֹט of the whip , šō·wṭ וְק֖וֹל the rumble wə·qō·wl רַ֣עַשׁ . . . ra·‘aš אוֹפָ֑ן of the wheel , ’ō·w·p̄ān דֹּהֵ֔ר galloping dō·hêr וְס֣וּס horse wə·sūs מְרַקֵּדָֽה׃ and bounding mə·raq·qê·ḏāh וּמֶרְכָּבָ֖ה chariot ! ū·mer·kā·ḇāh Nahum 3:3 מַעֲלֶ֗ה Charging ma·‘ă·leh פָּרָ֣שׁ horseman , pā·rāš וְלַ֤הַב flashing wə·la·haḇ חֶ֙רֶב֙ sword , ḥe·reḇ וּבְרַ֣ק shining ū·ḇə·raq חֲנִ֔ית spear ; ḥă·nîṯ וְרֹ֥ב heaps wə·rōḇ חָלָ֖ל of slain , ḥā·lāl וְכֹ֣בֶד mounds wə·ḵō·ḇeḏ
