יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh יֹעֵ֖ץ a counselor yō·‘êṣ בְּלִיָּֽעַל׃ס of wickedness . bə·lî·yā·‘al Nahum 1:12 כֹּ֣ה׀ This is what kōh יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar אִם־ “ Though ’im- שְׁלֵמִים֙ they are allied šə·lê·mîm וְכֵ֣ן . . . wə·ḵên רַבִּ֔ים and numerous , rab·bîm וְכֵ֥ן yet wə·ḵên נָגֹ֖זּוּ they will be cut down nā·ḡōz·zū וְעָבָ֑ר and pass away . wə·‘ā·ḇār וְעִ֨נִּתִ֔ךְ Though I have afflicted you, [O Judah] , wə·‘in·ni·ṯiḵ אֲעַנֵּ֖ךְ I will afflict ’ă·‘an·nêḵ לֹ֥א you no lō עֽוֹד׃ longer . ‘ō·wḏ Nahum 1:13 וְעַתָּ֕ה For I will now wə·‘at·tāh אֶשְׁבֹּ֥ר break ’eš·bōr מֹטֵ֖הוּ their yoke mō·ṭê·hū מֵֽעָלָ֑יִךְ from your neck mê·‘ā·lā·yiḵ אֲנַתֵּֽק׃ and tear away ’ă·nat·têq וּמוֹסְרֹתַ֖יִךְ your shackles . ” ū·mō·ws·rō·ṯa·yiḵ Nahum 1:14 יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh וְצִוָּ֤ה has issued a command wə·ṣiw·wāh עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ concerning you, [O Nineveh] : ‘ā·le·ḵā לֹֽא־ “ There will be no lō- יִזָּרַ֥ע descendants yiz·zā·ra‘ מִשִּׁמְךָ֖ to carry on your name miš·šim·ḵā ע֑וֹד . . . . ‘ō·wḏ אַכְרִ֨ית I will cut off ’aḵ·rîṯ פֶּ֧סֶל the carved image pe·sel וּמַסֵּכָ֛ה and cast idol ū·mas·sê·ḵāh מִבֵּ֨ית from the house mib·bêṯ אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ of your gods ; ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אָשִׂ֥ים I will prepare ’ā·śîm קִבְרֶ֖ךָ your grave , qiḇ·re·ḵā כִּ֥י for kî קַלּֽוֹתָ׃פ you are contemptible . ” qal·lō·w·ṯā Nahum 1:15 הִנֵּ֨ה Look hin·nêh עַל־ to ‘al- הֶהָרִ֜ים the mountains — he·hā·rîm רַגְלֵ֤י the feet raḡ·lê מְבַשֵּׂר֙ of one who brings good news , mə·ḇaś·śêr מַשְׁמִ֣יעַ who proclaims maš·mî·a‘ שָׁל֔וֹם peace ! šā·lō·wm חָגִּ֧י Celebrate ḥāg·gî חַגַּ֖יִךְ your feasts , ḥag·ga·yiḵ יְהוּדָ֛ה O Judah ; yə·hū·ḏāh שַׁלְּמִ֣י fulfill šal·lə·mî נְדָרָ֑יִךְ your vows . nə·ḏā·rā·yiḵ כִּי֩ For kî בְּלִיַּ֖עַל the wicked bə·lî·ya·‘al לֹ֨א will never lō יוֹסִ֥יף again yō·w·sîp̄ ע֛וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ לַעֲבוֹר march through la·ʿă·ḇōr בָּ֥ךְ you ; bāḵ כֻּלֹּ֥ה they will be utterly kul·lōh נִכְרָֽת׃ cut off . niḵ·rāṯ Nahum 2:1 מֵפִ֛יץ One who scatters mê·p̄îṣ עָלָ֥ה advances ‘ā·lāh עַל־ against ‘al- פָּנַ֖יִךְ you, [O Nineveh] . pā·na·yiḵ נָצ֣וֹר Guard nā·ṣō·wr מְצֻרָ֑ה the fortress ! mə·ṣu·rāh צַפֵּה־ Watch ṣap·pêh- דֶ֙רֶךְ֙ the road ! ḏe·reḵ חַזֵּ֣ק Brace yourselves ḥaz·zêq מָתְנַ֔יִם . . . ! mā·ṯə·na·yim אַמֵּ֥ץ Summon ’am·mêṣ מְאֹֽד׃ all mə·’ōḏ כֹּ֖חַ your strength ! kō·aḥ Nahum 2:2 כִּ֣י For kî יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שָׁ֤ב will restore šāḇ גְּא֣וֹן the splendor gə·’ō·wn יַעֲקֹ֔ב of Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ כִּגְא֖וֹן like the splendor kiḡ·’ō·wn יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl כִּ֤י though kî
