בְקָקוּם֙ destroyers ḇə·qā·qūm בֹּֽקְקִ֔ים have laid them waste bō·qə·qîm שִׁחֵֽתוּ׃ and ruined ši·ḥê·ṯū וּזְמֹרֵיהֶ֖ם the branches of their vine . ū·zə·mō·rê·hem Nahum 2:3 מָגֵ֨ן The shields mā·ḡên גִּבֹּרֵ֜יהוּ of his mighty men gib·bō·rê·hū מְאָדָּ֗ם are red ; mə·’ād·dām אַנְשֵׁי־ the valiant warriors ’an·šê- חַ֙יִל֙ . . . ḥa·yil מְתֻלָּעִ֔ים are dressed in scarlet . mə·ṯul·lā·‘îm פְּלָד֥וֹת The fittings pə·lā·ḏō·wṯ הָרֶ֖כֶב of the chariots hā·re·ḵeḇ בְּאֵשׁ־ flash like fire bə·’êš- בְּי֣וֹם on the day bə·yō·wm הֲכִינ֑וֹ they are prepared , hă·ḵî·nōw וְהַבְּרֹשִׁ֖ים and the spears of cypress wə·hab·bə·rō·šîm הָרְעָֽלוּ׃ have been brandished . hā·rə·‘ā·lū Nahum 2:4 הָרֶ֔כֶב The chariots hā·re·ḵeḇ יִתְהוֹלְל֣וּ dash yiṯ·hō·wl·lū בַּֽחוּצוֹת֙ through the streets ; ba·ḥū·ṣō·wṯ יִֽשְׁתַּקְשְׁק֖וּן they rush around yiš·taq·šə·qūn בָּרְחֹב֑וֹת the plazas , bā·rə·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ מַרְאֵיהֶן֙ appearing mar·’ê·hen כַּלַּפִּידִ֔ם like torches , kal·lap·pî·ḏim יְרוֹצֵֽצוּ׃ darting about yə·rō·w·ṣê·ṣū כַּבְּרָקִ֖ים like lightning . kab·bə·rā·qîm Nahum 2:5 יִזְכֹּר֙ He summons yiz·kōr אַדִּירָ֔יו his nobles ; ’ad·dî·rāw יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ they stumble yik·kā·šə·lū בַהֲלִכוֹתָם as they advance . ḇa·hă·li·ḵō·ṯå̄m יְמַֽהֲרוּ֙ They race yə·ma·hă·rū חֽוֹמָתָ֔הּ to its wall ; ḥō·w·mā·ṯāh הַסֹּכֵֽךְ׃ the protective shield has·sō·ḵêḵ וְהֻכַ֖ן is set in place . wə·hu·ḵan Nahum 2:6 הַנְּהָר֖וֹת The river han·nə·hā·rō·wṯ שַׁעֲרֵ֥י gates ša·‘ă·rê נִפְתָּ֑חוּ are thrown open nip̄·tā·ḥū וְהַֽהֵיכָ֖ל and the palace wə·ha·hê·ḵāl נָמֽוֹג׃ collapses . nā·mō·wḡ Nahum 2:7 וְהֻצַּ֖ב It is decreed that wə·huṣ·ṣaḇ גֻּלְּתָ֣ה [the city] be exiled gul·lə·ṯāh הֹֽעֲלָ֑תָה and carried away ; hō·‘ă·lā·ṯāh וְאַמְהֹתֶ֗יהָ her maidservants wə·’am·hō·ṯe·hā מְנַֽהֲגוֹת֙ moan mə·na·hă·ḡō·wṯ כְּק֣וֹל like kə·qō·wl יוֹנִ֔ים doves , yō·w·nîm מְתֹפְפֹ֖ת and beat mə·ṯō·p̄ə·p̄ōṯ עַל־ upon ‘al- לִבְבֵהֶֽן׃ their breasts . liḇ·ḇê·hen Nahum 2:8 וְנִינְוֵ֥ה Nineveh wə·nî·nə·wêh כִבְרֵֽכַת־ has been like a pool ḵiḇ·rê·ḵaṯ- מַ֖יִם of water ma·yim הִ֑יא throughout hî מִ֣ימֵי her days , mî·mê וְהֵ֣מָּה but now wə·hêm·māh נָסִ֔ים it is draining away . nā·sîm עִמְד֥וּ “ Stop ! ‘im·ḏū עֲמֹ֖דוּ Stop!” they cry , ‘ă·mō·ḏū וְאֵ֥ין but no wə·’ên מַפְנֶֽה׃ one turns back . map̄·neh Nahum 2:9 בֹּ֥זּוּ “ Plunder bōz·zū כֶ֖סֶף the silver ! ḵe·sep̄ בֹּ֣זּוּ Plunder bōz·zū זָהָ֑ב the gold ! ” zā·hāḇ וְאֵ֥ין There is no wə·’ên קֵ֙צֶה֙ end qê·ṣeh לַתְּכוּנָ֔ה to the treasure , lat·tə·ḵū·nāh כָּבֹ֕ד an abundance kā·ḇōḏ מִכֹּ֖ל of every mik·kōl חֶמְדָּֽה׃ precious ḥem·dāh כְּלִ֥י thing . kə·lî Nahum 2:10 בּוּקָ֥ה She is emptied ! bū·qāh וּמְבוּקָ֖ה Yes , she is desolate ū·mə·ḇū·qāh וּמְבֻלָּקָ֑ה and laid waste ! ū·mə·ḇul·lā·qāh וְלֵ֨ב Hearts wə·lêḇ נָמֵ֜ס melt , nā·mês
