בַשֶּׁ֔בִי into captivity . ḇaš·še·ḇî עֹלָלֶ֛יהָ Her infants ‘ō·lā·le·hā גַּ֧ם . . . gam יְרֻטְּשׁ֖וּ were dashed to pieces yə·ruṭ·ṭə·šū בְּרֹ֣אשׁ at the head bə·rōš כָּל־ of every kāl- חוּצ֑וֹת street . ḥū·ṣō·wṯ יַדּ֣וּ They cast yad·dū גוֹרָ֔ל lots ḡō·w·rāl וְעַל־ for wə·‘al- נִכְבַּדֶּ֙יהָ֙ her dignitaries , niḵ·bad·de·hā וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl גְּדוֹלֶ֖יהָ her nobles gə·ḏō·w·le·hā רֻתְּק֥וּ were bound rut·tə·qū בַזִּקִּֽים׃ in chains . ḇaz·ziq·qîm Nahum 3:11 אַ֣תְּ You ’at גַּם־ too gam- תִּשְׁכְּרִ֔י will become drunk ; tiš·kə·rî תְּהִ֖י you will go tə·hî נַֽעֲלָמָ֑ה into hiding na·‘ă·lā·māh אַ֛תְּ - ’at גַּם־ and gam- תְּבַקְשִׁ֥י seek tə·ḇaq·šî מָע֖וֹז refuge mā·‘ō·wz מֵאוֹיֵֽב׃ from the enemy . mê·’ō·w·yêḇ Nahum 3:12 כָּ֨ל־ All kāl- מִבְצָרַ֔יִךְ your fortresses miḇ·ṣā·ra·yiḵ תְּאֵנִ֖ים are fig trees tə·’ê·nîm עִם־ with ‘im- בִּכּוּרִ֑ים the first ripe figs ; bik·kū·rîm אִם־ when ’im- יִנּ֕וֹעוּ shaken , yin·nō·w·‘ū וְנָפְל֖וּ they fall wə·nā·p̄ə·lū עַל־ into ‘al- פִּ֥י the mouth pî אוֹכֵֽל׃ of the eater ! ’ō·w·ḵêl Nahum 3:13 הִנֵּ֨ה Look at hin·nêh עַמֵּ֤ךְ your troops — ‘am·mêḵ נָשִׁים֙ they are like your women nā·šîm בְּקִרְבֵּ֔ךְ . . . ! bə·qir·bêḵ שַׁעֲרֵ֣י The gates ša·‘ă·rê אַרְצֵ֑ךְ of your land ’ar·ṣêḵ פָּת֥וֹחַ are wide open pā·ṯō·w·aḥ נִפְתְּח֖וּ . . . nip̄·tə·ḥū לְאֹ֣יְבַ֔יִךְ to your enemies ; lə·’ō·yə·ḇa·yiḵ אֵ֖שׁ fire ’êš אָכְלָ֥ה consumes ’ā·ḵə·lāh בְּרִיחָֽיִך׃ their bars . bə·rī·ḥå̄·yiḵ Nahum 3:14 שַֽׁאֲבִי־ Draw ša·’ă·ḇî- לָ֔ךְ your lāḵ מֵ֤י water mê מָצוֹר֙ for the siege ; mā·ṣō·wr חַזְּקִ֖י strengthen ḥaz·zə·qî מִבְצָרָ֑יִךְ your fortresses . miḇ·ṣā·rā·yiḵ בֹּ֧אִי Work bō·’î בַטִּ֛יט the clay ḇaṭ·ṭîṭ וְרִמְסִ֥י and tread wə·rim·sî בַחֹ֖מֶר the mortar ; ḇa·ḥō·mer הַחֲזִ֥יקִי repair ha·ḥă·zî·qî מַלְבֵּֽן׃ the brick [kiln] ! mal·bên Nahum 3:15 שָׁ֚ם There m אֵ֔שׁ the fire ’êš תֹּאכְלֵ֣ךְ will devour you ; tō·ḵə·lêḵ חֶ֔רֶב the sword ḥe·reḇ תַּכְרִיתֵ֣ךְ will cut you down taḵ·rî·ṯêḵ תֹּאכְלֵ֖ךְ and consume you tō·ḵə·lêḵ כַּיָּ֑לֶק like a young locust . kay·yā·leq הִתְכַּבֵּ֣ד Make yourself many hiṯ·kab·bêḏ כַּיֶּ֔לֶק like the young locust ; kay·ye·leq הִֽתְכַּבְּדִ֖י make yourself many hiṯ·kab·bə·ḏî כָּאַרְבֶּֽה׃ like the swarming locust ! kā·’ar·beh Nahum 3:16 הִרְבֵּית֙ You have multiplied hir·bêṯ רֹֽכְלַ֔יִךְ your merchants rō·ḵə·la·yiḵ מִכּוֹכְבֵ֖י more than the stars mik·kō·wḵ·ḇê הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם of the sky . haš·šā·mā·yim יֶ֥לֶק The young locust ye·leq פָּשַׁ֖ט strips the land pā·šaṭ וַיָּעֹֽף׃ and flies away . way·yā·‘ōp̄ Nahum 3:17 מִנְּזָרַ֙יִךְ֙ Your guards min·nə·zā·ra·yiḵ
