Amos 7:17 לָכֵ֞ן Therefore lā·ḵên כֹּה־ this is what kōh- יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar אִשְׁתְּךָ֞ ‘ Your wife ’iš·tə·ḵā תִּזְנֶה֙ will become a prostitute tiz·neh בָּעִ֤יר in the city , bā·‘îr וּבָנֶ֤יךָ and your sons ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā וּבְנֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ and daughters ū·ḇə·nō·ṯe·ḵā יִפֹּ֔לוּ will fall yip·pō·lū בַּחֶ֣רֶב by the sword . ba·ḥe·reḇ וְאַדְמָתְךָ֖ Your land wə·’aḏ·mā·ṯə·ḵā תְּחֻלָּ֑ק will be divided tə·ḥul·lāq בַּחֶ֣בֶל by a measuring line , ba·ḥe·ḇel וְאַתָּ֗ה and you yourself wə·’at·tāh תָּמ֔וּת will die tā·mūṯ עַל־ on ‘al- טְמֵאָה֙ pagan ṭə·mê·’āh אֲדָמָ֤ה soil . ’ă·ḏā·māh וְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔ל And Israel wə·yiś·rā·’êl גָּלֹ֥ה will surely gā·lōh יִגְלֶ֖ה go into exile , yiḡ·leh מֵעַ֥ל away from mê·‘al אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃ס their homeland . ’” ’aḏ·mā·ṯōw Amos 8:1 כֹּ֥ה This is what kōh אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh הִרְאַ֖נִי showed me : hir·’a·nî וְהִנֵּ֖ה I saw wə·hin·nêh כְּל֥וּב a basket kə·lūḇ קָֽיִץ׃ of summer fruit . qā·yiṣ Amos 8:2 עָמ֔וֹס “ Amos , ‘ā·mō·ws מָֽה־ what māh- אַתָּ֤ה do you ’at·tāh רֹאֶה֙ see ? ” rō·’eh וַיֹּ֗אמֶר He asked . way·yō·mer כְּל֣וּב “ A basket kə·lūḇ קָ֑יִץ of summer fruit , ” qā·yiṣ וָאֹמַ֖ר I replied . wā·’ō·mar יְהוָ֜ה So YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלַ֗י to me , ’ê·lay הַקֵּץ֙ “ The end haq·qêṣ בָּ֤א has come bā אֶל־ for ’el- עַמִּ֣י My people ‘am·mî יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel ; yiś·rā·’êl לֹא־ I will no lō- אוֹסִ֥יף longer ’ō·w·sîp̄ ע֖וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ עֲב֥וֹר spare ‘ă·ḇō·wr לֽוֹ׃ them . ” lōw Amos 8:3 הַה֔וּא “ In that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day , ” bay·yō·wm נְאֻ֖ם declares nə·’um אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh שִׁיר֤וֹת “ the songs šî·rō·wṯ הֵיכָל֙ of the temple hê·ḵāl וְהֵילִ֜ילוּ will turn to wailing . wə·hê·lî·lū רַ֣ב Many raḇ הַפֶּ֔גֶר [will be] the corpses , hap·pe·ḡer הִשְׁלִ֥יךְ strewn hiš·lîḵ הָֽס׃פ in silence hās בְּכָל־ everywhere bə·ḵāl מָק֖וֹם . . . ! ” mā·qō·wm Amos 8:4 שִׁמְעוּ־ Hear šim·‘ū- זֹ֕את this , zōṯ הַשֹּׁאֲפִ֖ים you who trample haš·šō·’ă·p̄îm אֶבְי֑וֹן the needy , ’eḇ·yō·wn וְלַשְׁבִּ֖ית who do away with wə·laš·bîṯ עַנְוֵי the poor ʿan·wē אָֽרֶץ׃ of the land , ’ā·reṣ Amos 8:5 לֵאמֹ֗ר asking , lê·mōr מָתַ֞י “ When mā·ṯay הַחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ will the New Moon ha·ḥō·ḏeš יַעֲבֹ֤ר be over , ya·‘ă·ḇōr וְנַשְׁבִּ֣ירָה that we may sell wə·naš·bî·rāh שֶּׁ֔בֶר grain ? še·ḇer וְהַשַּׁבָּ֖ת When will the Sabbath [end] , wə·haš·šab·bāṯ וְנִפְתְּחָה־ that we may market wə·nip̄·tə·ḥāh- בָּ֑ר wheat ? bār
