Amos 6:14 כִּ֡י For kî הִנְנִי֩ behold , hin·nî מֵקִ֨ים I will raise up mê·qîm גּ֑וֹי a nation gō·w עֲלֵיכֶ֜ם against you , ‘ă·lê·ḵem בֵּ֣ית O house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel , ” yiś·rā·’êl נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֛ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê הַצְּבָא֖וֹת of Hosts , haṣ·ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ וְלָחֲצ֥וּ “ and they will oppress wə·lā·ḥă·ṣū אֶתְכֶ֛ם you ’eṯ·ḵem מִלְּב֥וֹא from Lebo-hamath mil·lə·ḇō·w חֲמָ֖ת . . . ḥă·māṯ עַד־ to ‘aḏ- נַ֥חַל the Brook na·ḥal הָעֲרָבָֽה׃ס of the Arabah . ” hā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh Amos 7:1 כֹּ֤ה This is what kōh אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh הִרְאַ֙נִי֙ showed me hir·’a·nî וְהִנֵּה֙ . . . : wə·hin·nêh יוֹצֵ֣ר He was preparing yō·w·ṣêr גֹּבַ֔י swarms of locusts gō·ḇay אַחַ֖ר just after ’a·ḥar הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king’s ham·me·leḵ גִּזֵּ֥י harvest , giz·zê עֲל֣וֹת as the late spring crop ‘ă·lō·wṯ הַלָּ֑קֶשׁ . . . hal·lā·qeš בִּתְחִלַּ֖ת was coming up biṯ·ḥil·laṯ וְהִ֨נֵּה־ - wə·hin·nêh- לֶ֔קֶשׁ - . le·qeš Amos 7:2 וְהָיָ֗ה And wə·hā·yāh אִם־ when ’im- כִּלָּה֙ the locusts had kil·lāh לֶֽאֱכוֹל֙ eaten le·’ĕ·ḵō·wl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵ֣שֶׂב every green plant ‘ê·śeḇ הָאָ֔רֶץ in the land , hā·’ā·reṣ וָאֹמַ֗ר I said , wā·’ō·mar אֲדֹנָ֤י “ Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh נָ֔א please nā סְֽלַֽח־ forgive ! sə·laḥ- מִ֥י How mî יַֽעֲקֹ֑ב will Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ יָק֖וּם survive , yā·qūm כִּ֥י since kî הֽוּא׃ he hū קָטֹ֖ן is so small ? ” qā·ṭōn Amos 7:3 יְהוָ֖ה So YHWH Yah·weh נִחַ֥ם relented ni·ḥam עַל־ from ‘al- זֹ֑את this [plan] . zōṯ לֹ֥א “ It will not lō תִהְיֶ֖ה happen , ” ṯih·yeh יְהוָֽה׃ [He] Yah·weh אָמַ֥ר said . ’ā·mar Amos 7:4 כֹּ֤ה This is what kōh אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh הִרְאַ֙נִי֙ showed me hir·’a·nî וְהִנֵּ֥ה . . . : wə·hin·nêh אֲדֹנָ֣י The Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh קֹרֵ֛א was calling qō·rê לָרִ֥ב for judgment lā·riḇ בָּאֵ֖שׁ by fire . bā·’êš וַתֹּ֙אכַל֙ It consumed wat·tō·ḵal אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רַבָּ֔ה the great rab·bāh תְּה֣וֹם deep tə·hō·wm וְאָכְלָ֖ה and devoured wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַחֵֽלֶק׃ the land . ha·ḥê·leq Amos 7:5 וָאֹמַ֗ר Then I said , wā·’ō·mar אֲדֹנָ֤י “ Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh נָ֔א please nā חֲדַל־ stop ! ḥă·ḏal- מִ֥י How mî
