אֱלֹהֵֽי־ the God ’ĕ·lō·hê- צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts . ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ Amos 6:1 ה֚וֹי Woe hō·w הַשַּׁאֲנַנִּ֣ים to those at ease haš·ša·’ă·nan·nîm בְּצִיּ֔וֹן in Zion bə·ṣî·yō·wn וְהַבֹּטְחִ֖ים and those secure wə·hab·bō·ṭə·ḥîm בְּהַ֣ר on Mount bə·har שֹׁמְר֑וֹן Samaria , šō·mə·rō·wn נְקֻבֵי֙ the distinguished ones nə·qu·ḇê רֵאשִׁ֣ית of the foremost rê·šîṯ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם nation , hag·gō·w·yim לָהֶ֖ם to whom lā·hem בֵּ֥ית the house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וּבָ֥אוּ comes . ū·ḇā·’ū Amos 6:2 עִבְר֤וּ Cross over ‘iḇ·rū כַֽלְנֵה֙ to Calneh ḵal·nêh וּרְא֔וּ and see ; ū·rə·’ū וּלְכ֥וּ go ū·lə·ḵū מִשָּׁ֖ם from there miš·šām רַבָּ֑ה to the great rab·bāh חֲמַ֣ת Hamath ; ḥă·maṯ וּרְד֣וּ then go down ū·rə·ḏū גַת־ to Gath ḡaṯ- פְּלִשְׁתּ֗ים of the Philistines . pə·liš·tm הֲטוֹבִים֙ Are you better hă·ṭō·w·ḇîm מִן־ than min- הָאֵ֔לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh אִם־ . . . ’im- הַמַּמְלָכ֣וֹת kingdoms ? ham·mam·lā·ḵō·wṯ גְּבוּלָ֖ם Is their territory gə·ḇū·lām רַ֥ב larger raḇ מִגְּבֻלְכֶֽם׃ than yours ? mig·gə·ḇul·ḵem Amos 6:3 הַֽמְנַדִּ֖ים You dismiss ham·nad·dîm לְי֣וֹם the day lə·yō·wm רָ֑ע of calamity rā‘ וַתַּגִּישׁ֖וּן and bring near wat·tag·gî·šūn שֶׁ֥בֶת a reign še·ḇeṯ חָמָֽס׃ of violence . ḥā·mās Amos 6:4 הַשֹּֽׁכְבִים֙ You lie haš·šō·ḵə·ḇîm עַל־ on ‘al- מִטּ֣וֹת beds miṭ·ṭō·wṯ שֵׁ֔ן inlaid with ivory , šên וּסְרֻחִ֖ים and lounge ū·sə·ru·ḥîm עַל־ upon ‘al- עַרְשׂוֹתָ֑ם your couches . ‘ar·śō·w·ṯām וְאֹכְלִ֤ים You dine on wə·’ō·ḵə·lîm כָּרִים֙ lambs kā·rîm מִצֹּ֔אן from the flock miṣ·ṣōn וַעֲגָלִ֖ים and calves wa·‘ă·ḡā·lîm מִתּ֥וֹךְ from mit·tō·wḵ מַרְבֵּֽק׃ the stall . mar·bêq Amos 6:5 הַפֹּרְטִ֖ים You improvise hap·pō·rə·ṭîm עַל־ songs ‘al- פִּ֣י vvv pî הַנָּ֑בֶל on the harp han·nā·ḇel כְּדָוִ֕יד like David kə·ḏā·wîḏ חָשְׁב֥וּ and invent ḥā·šə·ḇū לָהֶ֖ם your own lā·hem שִֽׁיר׃ musical šîr כְּלֵי־ instruments . kə·lê- Amos 6:6 הַשֹּׁתִ֤ים You drink haš·šō·ṯîm יַ֔יִן wine ya·yin בְּמִזְרְקֵי֙ by the bowlful bə·miz·rə·qê יִמְשָׁ֑חוּ and anoint yourselves yim·šā·ḥū וְרֵאשִׁ֥ית with the finest wə·rê·šîṯ שְׁמָנִ֖ים oils , šə·mā·nîm וְלֹ֥א but you fail to wə·lō נֶחְל֖וּ grieve neḥ·lū עַל־ over ‘al- שֵׁ֥בֶר the ruin šê·ḇer יוֹסֵֽף of Joseph . yō·sēp̄ Amos 6:7 לָכֵ֛ן Therefore , lā·ḵên עַתָּ֥ה you will now ‘at·tāh יִגְל֖וּ go into exile yiḡ·lū בְּרֹ֣אשׁ as the first bə·rōš גֹּלִ֑ים of the captives , gō·lîm מִרְזַ֥ח and your feasting mir·zaḥ סְרוּחִֽים׃פ and lounging sə·rū·ḥîm
