הַדָּבָ֣ר word had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֧ר has spoken dib·ber עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם against you , ‘ă·lê·ḵem בְּנֵ֣י O children bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl עַ֚ל against ‘al כָּל־ the whole kāl- הַמִּשְׁפָּחָ֔ה family ham·miš·pā·ḥāh אֲשֶׁ֧ר that ’ă·šer הֶעֱלֵ֛יתִי I brought up he·‘ĕ·lê·ṯî מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרַ֖יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . : lê·mōr Amos 3:2 רַ֚ק “ Only raq אֶתְכֶ֣ם you ’eṯ·ḵem יָדַ֔עְתִּי have I known yā·ḏa‘·tî מִכֹּ֖ל from all mik·kōl מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת the families miš·pə·ḥō·wṯ הָאֲדָמָ֑ה of the earth ; hā·’ă·ḏā·māh עַל־ therefore ‘al- כֵּן֙ . . . kên אֶפְקֹ֣ד I will punish ’ep̄·qōḏ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם you ‘ă·lê·ḵem אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ for all kāl- עֲוֺנֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ your iniquities . ” ‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·ḵem Amos 3:3 שְׁנַ֖יִם Can two šə·na·yim הֲיֵלְכ֥וּ walk hă·yê·lə·ḵū יַחְדָּ֑ו together yaḥ·dāw בִּלְתִּ֖י without bil·tî אִם־ . . . ’im- נוֹעָֽדוּ׃ agreeing [where to go] ? nō·w·‘ā·ḏū Amos 3:4 אַרְיֵה֙ Does a lion ’ar·yêh הֲיִשְׁאַ֤ג roar hă·yiš·’aḡ בַּיַּ֔עַר in the forest bay·ya·‘ar אֵ֣ין when he has no ’ên ל֑וֹ lōw וְטֶ֖רֶף prey ? wə·ṭe·rep̄ כְּפִ֤יר Does a young lion kə·p̄îr הֲיִתֵּ֨ן growl hă·yit·tên קוֹלוֹ֙ . . . qō·w·lōw מִמְּעֹ֣נָת֔וֹ in his den mim·mə·‘ō·nā·ṯōw אִם־ if ’im- לָכָֽד׃ he has caught lā·ḵāḏ בִּלְתִּ֖י nothing ? bil·tî Amos 3:5 צִפּוֹר֙ Does a bird ṣip·pō·wr הֲתִפֹּ֤ל land hă·ṯip·pōl עַל־ in ‘al- פַּ֣ח a snare paḥ הָאָ֔רֶץ - hā·’ā·reṣ אֵ֣ין where no ’ên וּמוֹקֵ֖שׁ bait ū·mō·w·qêš לָ֑הּ [has been set] ? lāh פַּח֙ Does a trap paḥ הֲיַֽעֲלֶה־ spring hă·ya·‘ă·leh- מִן־ from min- הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה the ground hā·’ă·ḏā·māh וְלָכ֖וֹד when it has wə·lā·ḵō·wḏ לֹ֥א nothing lō יִלְכּֽוֹד׃ to catch ? yil·kō·wḏ Amos 3:6 אִם־ If ’im- שׁוֹפָר֙ a ram’s horn šō·w·p̄ār יִתָּקַ֤ע sounds yit·tā·qa‘ בְּעִ֔יר in a city , bə·‘îr וְעָ֖ם do the people wə·‘ām לֹ֣א not lō יֶחֱרָ֑דוּ tremble ? ye·ḥĕ·rā·ḏū אִם־ If ’im- רָעָה֙ calamity rā·‘āh תִּהְיֶ֤ה comes tih·yeh בְּעִ֔יר to a city , bə·‘îr לֹ֥א has not lō וַיהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh עָשָֽׂה׃ caused it ? ‘ā·śāh Amos 3:7 כִּ֣י Surely kî אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh יַעֲשֶׂ֛ה does ya·‘ă·śeh לֹ֧א nothing lō דָּבָ֑ר . . . dā·ḇār
