מֵאֶ֣רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt miṣ·rā·yim וָאוֹלֵ֨ךְ and led wā·’ō·w·lêḵ אֶתְכֶ֤ם you ’eṯ·ḵem אַרְבָּעִ֣ים forty ’ar·bā·‘îm שָׁנָ֔ה years šā·nāh בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ in the wilderness , bam·miḏ·bār לָרֶ֖שֶׁת that you might take possession lā·re·šeṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶ֥רֶץ of the land ’e·reṣ הָאֱמֹרִֽי׃ of the Amorite . hā·’ĕ·mō·rî Amos 2:11 וָאָקִ֤ים I raised up wā·’ā·qîm לִנְבִיאִ֔ים prophets lin·ḇî·’îm מִבְּנֵיכֶם֙ from your sons mib·bə·nê·ḵem לִנְזִרִ֑ים and Nazirites lin·zi·rîm וּמִבַּחוּרֵיכֶ֖ם from your young men . ū·mib·ba·ḥū·rê·ḵem זֹ֛את Is this zōṯ אֵֽין־ not ’ên- הַאַ֥ף true , ha·’ap̄ בְּנֵ֥י O children bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel ? ” yiś·rā·’êl נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Amos 2:12 הַנְּזִרִ֖ים “ But you made the Nazirites han·nə·zi·rîm וַתַּשְׁק֥וּ drink wat·taš·qū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָ֑יִן wine yā·yin וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- צִוִּיתֶ֣ם and commanded ṣiw·wî·ṯem לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr הַנְּבִיאִים֙ the prophets han·nə·ḇî·’îm לֹ֖א not lō תִּנָּבְאֽוּ׃ to prophesy . tin·nā·ḇə·’ū Amos 2:13 הִנֵּ֛ה Behold , hin·nêh אָנֹכִ֥י I ’ā·nō·ḵî מֵעִ֖יק am about to crush you mê·‘îq תַּחְתֵּיכֶ֑ם in your place taḥ·tê·ḵem כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר as ka·’ă·šer תָּעִיק֙ [with] tā·‘îq הָעֲגָלָ֔ה a cart hā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh הַֽמְלֵאָ֥ה full ham·lê·’āh לָ֖הּ of lāh עָמִֽיר׃ grain . ‘ā·mîr Amos 2:14 מָנוֹס֙ Escape mā·nō·ws וְאָבַ֤ד will fail wə·’ā·ḇaḏ מִקָּ֔ל the swift , miq·qāl וְחָזָ֖ק the strong wə·ḥā·zāq לֹא־ will not lō- יְאַמֵּ֣ץ prevail yə·’am·mêṣ כֹּח֑וֹ by his strength , kō·ḥōw וְגִבּ֖וֹר and the mighty wə·ḡib·bō·wr לֹא־ will not lō- יְמַלֵּ֥ט save yə·mal·lêṭ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ his life . nap̄·šōw Amos 2:15 וְתֹפֵ֤שׂ The archer wə·ṯō·p̄êś הַקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙ . . . haq·qe·šeṯ לֹ֣א will not lō יַעֲמֹ֔ד stand his ground , ya·‘ă·mōḏ וְקַ֥ל the fleet wə·qal בְּרַגְלָ֖יו of foot bə·raḡ·lāw לֹ֣א will not lō יְמַלֵּ֑ט escape , yə·mal·lêṭ וְרֹכֵ֣ב and the horseman wə·rō·ḵêḇ הַסּ֔וּס . . . has·sūs לֹ֥א will not lō יְמַלֵּ֖ט save yə·mal·lêṭ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ his life . nap̄·šōw Amos 2:16 וְאַמִּ֥יץ Even the bravest wə·’am·mîṣ בַּגִּבּוֹרִ֑ים of mighty bag·gib·bō·w·rîm לִבּ֖וֹ men lib·bōw יָנ֥וּס will flee yā·nūs עָר֛וֹם naked ‘ā·rō·wm הַה֖וּא on that ha·hū בַּיּוֹם־ day , ” bay·yō·wm- נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃פ YHWH .
