זִבֵּ֑חוּ Do they sacrifice zib·bê·ḥū שְׁוָרִ֣ים bulls šə·wā·rîm בַּגִּלְגָּ֖ל in Gilgal ? bag·gil·gāl גַּ֤ם Indeed , gam מִזְבְּחוֹתָם֙ their altars [will be] miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯām כְּגַלִּ֔ים heaps of stones kə·ḡal·lîm עַ֖ל in ‘al תַּלְמֵ֥י the furrows tal·mê שָׂדָֽי׃ of the field . śā·ḏāy Hosea 12:12 יַעֲקֹ֖ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיִּבְרַ֥ח fled way·yiḇ·raḥ שְׂדֵ֣ה to the land śə·ḏêh אֲרָ֑ם of Aram ’ă·rām יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ and Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ד worked way·ya·‘ă·ḇōḏ בְּאִשָּׁ֔ה for a wife — bə·’iš·šāh וּבְאִשָּׁ֖ה for a wife ū·ḇə·’iš·šāh שָׁמָֽר׃ he tended [sheep] . šā·mār Hosea 12:13 וּבְנָבִ֕יא But by a prophet ū·ḇə·nā·ḇî יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הֶעֱלָ֧ה brought he·‘ĕ·lāh יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם out of Egypt , mim·miṣ·rā·yim וּבְנָבִ֖יא and by a prophet ū·ḇə·nā·ḇî נִשְׁמָֽר׃ he was preserved . niš·mār Hosea 12:14 אֶפְרַ֖יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim תַּמְרוּרִ֑ים has provoked bitter tam·rū·rîm הִכְעִ֥יס anger , hiḵ·‘îs אֲדֹנָֽיו׃ so his Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāw יִטּ֔וֹשׁ will leave yiṭ·ṭō·wōš וְדָמָיו֙ his bloodguilt wə·ḏā·māw עָלָ֣יו upon him ‘ā·lāw יָשִׁ֥יב and repay yā·šîḇ ל֖וֹ him lōw וְחֶ֨רְפָּת֔וֹ for his contempt . wə·ḥer·pā·ṯōw Hosea 13:1 אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ When Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim כְּדַבֵּ֤ר spoke , kə·ḏab·bêr רְתֵ֔ת there was trembling ; rə·ṯêṯ ה֖וּא he hū נָשָׂ֥א was exalted nā·śā בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל in Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl וַיֶּאְשַׁ֥ם But he incurred guilt way·ye’·šam בַּבַּ֖עַל through Baal , bab·ba·‘al וַיָּמֹֽת׃ and he died . way·yā·mōṯ Hosea 13:2 וְעַתָּ֣ה׀ Now wə·‘at·tāh לַחֲטֹ֗א they sin la·ḥă·ṭō יוֹסִ֣פוּ more and more yō·w·si·p̄ū וַיַּעְשׂ֣וּ and make way·ya‘·śū לָהֶם֩ for themselves lā·hem מַסֵּכָ֨ה cast images , mas·sê·ḵāh עֲצַבִּ֔ים idols ‘ă·ṣab·bîm כִּתְבוּנָם֙ skillfully made kiṯ·ḇū·nām מִכַּסְפָּ֤ם from their silver , mik·kas·pām כֻּלֹּ֑ה all kul·lōh לָהֶם֙ of them lā·hem מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה the work ma·‘ă·śêh חָרָשִׁ֖ים of craftsmen . ḥā·rā·šîm הֵ֣ם People hêm אֹמְרִ֔ים say of them , ’ō·mə·rîm זֹבְחֵ֣י “ They offer human sacrifice zō·ḇə·ḥê אָדָ֔ם . . . ’ā·ḏām יִשָּׁקֽוּן׃ [and] kiss yiš·šā·qūn עֲגָלִ֖ים the calves ! ” ‘ă·ḡā·lîm Hosea 13:3 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên יִֽהְיוּ֙ they will be yih·yū בֹּ֔קֶר like the morning bō·qer כַּעֲנַן־ mist , ka·‘ă·nan- מַשְׁכִּ֣ים like the early maš·kîm וְכַטַּ֖ל dew wə·ḵaṭ·ṭal הֹלֵ֑ךְ that vanishes , hō·lêḵ כְּמֹץ֙ like chaff kə·mōṣ יְסֹעֵ֣ר blown yə·sō·‘êr מִגֹּ֔רֶן from a threshing floor , mig·gō·ren וּכְעָשָׁ֖ן like smoke ū·ḵə·‘ā·šān מֵאֲרֻבָּֽה׃ through an open window . mê·’ă·rub·bāh Hosea 13:4 וְאָנֹכִ֛י Yet I [am] wə·’ā·nō·ḵî יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā
